Recently stayed 2 days in Van der Valk Groningen-Westerbroek

Upon entering the room, it looked good at first glance. We had booked the comfort room in the renovated part.

However, when entering the bathroom a smoke (cigarette) smell came to mind. We reported this to the reception and were immediately assigned another room. The rooms in the new part look good and neat. Only the beds are 2 single beds that slide apart quickly. Later it turned out that there are also rooms with fixed beds, so ask about this when you make a reservation.

I think they forgot to renew the bathroom, because it is a bit dated, but meets all requirements and is clean.

Dinner at this Van der Valk is highly recommended and the service leaves nothing to be desired.

Breakfast first day, we were there at 10:00 am, and breakfast was until 10:30 am, was fairly sparse and was not replenished, despite the fact that people were still coming in.

Second day we were there at 9:30 am, then there was still enough.

Work is still taking place in the hotel (in the renovated part), and at the entrance was a sign that the work will start from 9:00 am. However, I don't think the best people had yet set their clock, because at 8:00 they started hammering.

All in all, this stay is fine. Can you eat well and are they open to your feedback.
