Luxurious hotel complex in a fantastic location. Spacious garden and pool area. Rooms were newly renovated, hotel under German thorough management. New German chef with international cuisine. Unfortunately, our time was too short.

Claims to be a 4 star but the WiFi was broken, my room coffee machine was broken (picture me pretty grumpy) and a lot of the services were either not being offered or were not well staffed. They ran out of pool towels..

Added negative, the lobby is under construction and really difficult to navigate.

On the good side, the room was clean (though the doors are super thin and I could hear cars in the gravel driveway outside), and the staff was very nice and accommodating to our early arrival.

Fab area n near everything. The properties assre gorgeous n there are tons of pool, great access to the beach. Rooms are clean. Bathroom was a bit odd-no tpulet paper holder but no biggy. Large shower n great water pressure. I would stay there in a second again.

Barbarian, impeccable.

Barbarian, impeccable.
Place to recommend.
Change the money in the bank or pay by card. In the shops, all, change is unfavorable.

Edgar the security guard is running a scam where he directs cars to back up into cars (it is impossible to see behind you because the parking lot is at a sharp angle). The owner then demands money or they will call the police. Edgar then gets a cut from these. Avoid this place, extortion at its worst.

This hotel is right on the beach. The pool across the street is great, clean and not crowded. There are many options for food in the area and the hotel has about 4 restaurant options as part of their property. The tour desk was very helpful a. D we organized a tour with them. There are very few outlets in the room! There was one outlet by the bed and it was for a lamp and alarm clock. There was only 1 other outlet in the room. 8 recommend you bring a power strip. No iron in the room but the front desk will bring you one.

Clean, fairly quiet and right on the beach. We only saw 2 of the pools but they were beautiful. Breakfast was filling. There are lots of shops and eateries nearby and many different activities and excursions.

One dish arrived 15 minutes before the other and in the carpaccio instead of Arugula (as the menu said) they put lettuce, they lasted another 10 minutes more in changing the lettuce for Arugula, the dish of the lasagna completely dirty on the outside, they did not have the detail of cleaning it.

We are here right now. In a pool view room. Have to go across the road to get a pool towel. Then we go to get a beer each and are declined because we haven t setup a credit. No one told us we had too. We are staying for three nights surely we could have been served and set this up later - two beers!

Really good resort.

Really good resort.
Nice surroundings, clean and tidy everywhere.

The staff is very nice and helpful.

Good pool areas with different bars. Restaurants around part of the hotel so it is possible to order food, and write it in the room.

WiFi is strong and works well all around the resort.

The AC in the room is quiet and cool well.

Highly recommend this resort!

Resort is much larger than 15 years ago with the addition of another "adult pool" and rooms across the street. Great location close to hip shops and restaurants not to mention on the beach. Great breakfast included.

A paradise, the landscape and the facilities of the most beautiful hotels in America, without a doubt. Constant problems with room charges for the credit card registration system. Attention somewhat slow when there are many people. Good food. Two power outages in 4 days, should have emergency generators. It does not have room service.

The rooms are nice, and the service was generally good, but there were some problems with the property. First, the Hotel straddles Calle Central, with rooms and facilities on either side of the street. The first problem was that you cannot get a pool towel on the inland side of the hotel. We wanted to visit the pool bar, but we had to go across the street in order to get a towel. We were advised that this was only because we were there during the low season, but it was somewhat annoying that I had to cross the street in order to get a towel, regardless of the season. There's also a weird quirk of the layout, that when you do cross the street to get a towel (or do anything else), you have to come down the driveway into the valet loop. There is no dedicated pedestrian entry to the lobby area of the hotel. And since the hotel requires you to come in and out of that lobby every time you want to get a towel, eat a meal, talk to a receptionist, book a tour, or do anyting else administrative at the hotel, you end up having to walk through the driveway repeatedly, dodging cars and tour vans as you go. The entire coastal side of the hotel seems to be under construction, and it would not be that big of a challenge to build a dedicated pedestrian walkway down into the lobby from the street. Beyond that, the pool bar was dingy, grimy, and run down. It is in need of a remodel. I walked down to get a drink at one point, stood there for five minutes waiting for the bartender, and then left without a drink because I never got the attention of the one bartender on staff, and also the place looked dirty and run down. The food in the restaurants was good, but it's impossible to get a slice of bacon on the breakfast buffet, although that's not unique to this hotel. It seems to be a Costa Rica thing. And last but not least, the bed was noisy on the hard tile floor.

On the positive side, the beach is nice.

Very nice facility, a part right on the beach. You are under the palm trees and can relax. In the back part on the other side of the street is a huge pool with a great Jacuzzi. Good cooking, just leave out the sauces that come out of the packet. Everything else good.

One of the best hotels in Tamarindo in excellent location. Part of the hotel is right on the beach and bigger part just across the street. Breakfast included - good and tasty choices. The hotel restaurant is open for dinner and the food is delicious and well presented but a bit on pricey side like almost everywhere in Tamarindo. Hotel is very well up kept. Nice and helpful personnel. Good internet throughout hotel, comfy beds, very quiet air-con, modern and clean bathroom. Nice beach.

Overall a beautiful resort that was well maintained, and centrally located. The staff were friendly and efficient and took care of any issues we had quickly. At first it's weird that the resort is divided by a road trip but it isn't much of a hassle.

Would definitely recommend getting ocean view rooms to enjoy the sunset from your balcony

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at Diria Tamarindo. The staff was very helpful and courteous, especially Charlie. Charlie ran the bar area and dining area. He is extremely personable, attentive and focused on the experience of the guests. We look forward to returning with our entire family to enjoy the service of Charlie and Diria Tamarindo.

It is a beautiful hotel, with very kind people, ample room with everything necessary to satisfy your tourist needs, I requested a room with a view of the pool and it is really beautiful, decorated with figures of the Diria culture, with islets with vegetation, where birds perch and you can get to see iguanas. We are happy, pure life mae!

I teeter between 4 & 5 Stars. Garden view room was awesome and humongous, but right next to the main (busy/loud) street. Also, unless you book an "Adults Only" room across the street, the families can be loud in the hallways outside the rooms (along with room service and maintenance workers). Good security, though- makes you feel safe.
Complimentary breakfast was good, consistent. You gain access to all Diria areas, on both sides of the street, including the Lagoon Pool with swim up bar. Be mindful of bar prices... the two of us got out around USD$160 (before any additional tip) for about 2-3 hours of lounging and swimming with drinks. Common area restrooms are comfortable, with private stalls. Lounge lawn area is great, especially at sunset time. I appreciated that there were at least two channels in English, in the bedrooms, since one of the days we spent relaxing in the room and watching football.
The negatives for me were that there are multiple restaurants connected to the resort, yet zero room service options. Also, the actual main restaurant closes promptly at/before 10pm. Don't order the tenderloin at lunch- it was severely overcooked! Wine selection was pretty expensive. The bathroom door in rooms is a slider and none too private.
Overall , it's a 4.5, if not 5 star resort. Lots of iguanas roaming the lounge area, it was pretty cool. I'd stay again!

Not recommended, reception extremely rude, noisy facility (although nicely done), breakfast is mass processing, rooms very small (but clean), beds hard as stone, hard to find sleep. Altogether no 4 - but at most 3 stars and due to price / performance not recommended.

Very nice place. Views of the ocean are amazing. I would definitely recommend an ocean front room if possible. The rooms on the other side of the street have nice views of the pool but nothing can compare to the views from the ocean front rooms. Staff and people were friendly but this area was much more touristy than areas like La Fortuna and Monteverde. Rooms were clean and spacious.
