First time visiting! And unfortunately much of the items we came for wasn't available (pork ribs, sausage and pork belly PLUS most desserts!!). The food we did have was great and service was good as well. Just frustrating to get to a BBQ joint and they dont have the food they are known for. And not just one item, multiple. Maybe not worth the trip again.

I thought this place was good, not great. When we went, there was a weird smell that reminded me a cleaning chemicals. On to the food. Everything was cooked really well, I just didn't really like the meat. The corn bread was great and so was the mac and cheese. The only real downside was the meat.

7 of us drove almost 3 hours from Boston and we were not disappointed. If this is not the best BBQ in New England, then someone needs to tell us where else we should try. Brisket, beef and spare ribs, pork belly and bacon plus chicken was delicious.

The beer is hot. The brisket is boiled. The sausage taste like cheese. I rather have mastercraft brand BBQ sauce than the house sauce. "Authentic texas BBQ"? Not even close.
Not only is the food bad. But the attitude of the owners is the utter opposite of impeccable. They discarded our facebook comments and blocked us from not being able to comment again.
Being from texas. We take BBQ seriously. Ill have dickeys over this.
They have real sweet tea. A texas beauty. Not peach tea.
The beer was warm. Probably as hot as the neon shiner sign they had at the window.
Disrespectful due to the disregard of our homest opinions.

It's pricey and not the best. Was told that the Corn bread is the best in CT and honestly Boston Market tastes better. The brisket was tender and so was the pulled pork. Potatoe said could use salt, pepper and real mayonnaise and a splash of mustard

We came we saw and we... were conquered :D

My wife and I are both native Texans and have been on tbe lookout for a halfway decent BBQ joint in the Northeast and it's easy to say that we were incredibly satisfied.

Things to know for first timers: Sunday is known as "Sell-out Sunday" meaning if you get there late there's a chance a popular meat will be off the menu for the day. Why? Because it's a darn good restaurant and only authentic BBQ can be made with a limited supply. Our waitress suggested Friday afternoon as the best time to get all the fixin's.

The BBQ sauce is Kansas City sweet, not Texas style smoky. Not saying it was bad, just saying in case you know the difference.

On the price point, plan to spend $20-30 a person and your stomach and budget will thank you. Entrees are $12-25 and sides are $4 for single and $8 for doubles.

These two Texans will be certainly be back!

If I had to choose one word to describe Hoodoo Brown Barbeque it would have to be AWFUL.

It was the worst restaurant experience we've ever had...my folks took my bf and me here to celebrate his birthday. First, they won't take reservations for parties of fewer than 10 people, so we arrived early (5:30ish) on a Saturday night in early October and were told the wait was an hour. We stood in the lobby of the restaurant and watched parties come in and get seated while we waited. My dad, who is nearly 80, is on full-time oxygen, and they kept him standing there waiting and waiting. Finally they told us we could sit in a separate room at a large table which was reserved for 8PM. It's now about quarter to 7. They warned us that we would have to be finished in time for the reservation. Immediately the manager started worrying that he wouldn't have his table back in time. Then they sat another party at the other end of the table.

We ordered and waited probably half an hour for our food to come out. Seriously, this place is a joke. Food just piled on tin plates, $8 for a side of french fries "to share" (which were not even close to good and very small, hardly bigger than the small order which was $4)...my bf was supposed to get sweet potato fries and got regular ones. The service was horrible. This has to be the easiest server job ever...she basically did nothing but plop the plates down on the table. The food is ridiculously overpriced. I didn't see the bill but it had to be well over $100 for 4 of us. I was actually embarrassed that I had put my parents in such and uncomfortable position sitting on basically bar stools and being treated so poorly while spending way too much money. Needless to say, none of us will ever eat there again. I can't remember ever being treated so poorly at a restaurant in my entire life. Oh, and the food was AWFUL too, to add insult to injury.

Hoodoo Brown was an outlaw and this place should be outlawed too. AWFUL, just AWFUL!

If these pictures don't make you want it then why are even considering it lol, This was the Trinity table breaker, and man is this one of my all-time favorite places to fall into a food coma. Make sure to call ahead to see if they have the meats you desire because they cook till there out.

One big issue with having a big party. We had 13 ppl 7 paid together was charged $20 tip, 2 ppl paid together for charged $20, 1 person paid by themselves got charged $20. Does this make sense? No... the restaurant should change the policy. A person that pays $300 and a person paying $49 should not pay the same $20 tip. Ridiculous!! Change ur policy or don't except separate checks. Charge 20% to each check POINT BLANK!!!

Been here about 10 times. The food is absolutely amazing, the staff is very friendly and the drinks and beer selection is nice as well. Highly recommend giving Hoo Doo Brown a try if you haven't already.

Awesome food very tasty not heavy like the other BBQ joint I've been to. The food is melting in the mouth even my wife was impressed. We ordered Texas Holy Trinity and I think that was a lot of food for the money we paid. The staff was very nice as well.

I finally made it here. After hearing great things about this place i had to try it out.. portions are huge.. and pork belly was my favorite.. the corn bread was really good too. Mac and cheese was ok.. but thats because i like a sharper mac and cheese.. the pork belly was amazing.. the beef rib was ok.. but from the price.. i wouldnt order again. I think i am more of a baby back rib person. The collard greens were good.. different than anything i have ever had.. i highly recommend and would definitely go back..

AMAZING! I judge a bbq joint by its brisket and it was spot on. It literally comes apart in your hands and melts in your mouth, nice smoke ring and great rub! We went later in the evening and things were already sold out but you know its cooked fresh that day than! Portion sizes were great and its served family style. The staff was friendly and attentive. I would definitely reccomend this place to anyone who's missing that Texas bbq. I'll definitely be back!

Best brisket around! This place is not big and fills up fast. I have found that eating at the bar can save you 30-45 minute waits. There is no waiting list for the bar. Any open seat is available for dining or drinking. Great western and BBQ food!!!

Best Brisket I've ever had, went three times for that and the sweet potato fries and the Ribs made me a patron for life. The drink specials are unreal. The wait to be seated is only tricky because the food is worth it. Once you sit down and order they don't miss a beat. The negative reviews seem to be a few guys from Texas who are touchy about Facebook and seem to think they are the authority on BBQ. I'd be a heavy man if I had more time and money to invest in it. I'd be shocked to hear anyone would be less than floored by how good the food is, nothing in the area comes close,

Just went there today. It was horrible. We walked through the doors to use the bathroom first, and the toilets were clogged. We then sat down and looked at the menu. It was alittle pricey. I ordered the brisket and it was disugsting. Im from texas and that is not authentic texas bbq. The brisket was extremely fatty and dry. It didnt even have a smoke taste to it. I also got gravey fries. They were burnt and the gravy sauce was disgusting. I would never go there again. Also while youre eating the waitress and hostess will just be gossiping to themselves and stare at you while youre eating. Extremely rude.

Food was amazing! Atmosphere was terrific! They are receiving 5 because of their exemplary and above and beyond service. After we ate, we forgot our leftovers, we drove about 10 minutes down the road before we realized. When we got back, our server had saved our food, but someone else threw it out. They actually made us an entire new order of what we had left over. They didn't have to do that, and most restaurants wouldn't have. Great job guys.

Drove an hour to check this place out. Must say that the server was very friendly and inviting. Now, as for the food, let's just say that I've had better. The brisket was the main reason why I made the trip and all I can say is that I was not impressed. The pork ribs were OK, but nothing to write home about. The project belly was decent. The Mac n cheese and cornbread were both pretty good in my opinion. Could not believe that sweet tea was not offered in a place that advertises authentic Texas BBQ. The beer served was warm. Overall, I was not impressed and can not justify an hour long drive for a return trip.

Awesome food. Great staff. Wish they accept reservations for everyone. Place opened at 11:30am and we got there at 11:35am and we had an hour wait. Some people who arrived after 12pm had a 3 hour wait. It's obvious that the food is that good it's worth the wait. I would recommend a paging system. This place is a goldmine. Owners should consider a bigger place or another location.
