It was definitely not worth the drive, wait, dealing with unmasked inconsiderate non humans and cost of tasteless food. All the hype I read about was just that. They allowed people to wait without masks, stand and give their take out orders without masks, and found that to be careless to their staff and customers. You can always be fooled by photos.

Hoodoo Brown is the best BBQ around Danbury, and possibly the best BBQ in New England! Absolutely delicious brisket, pork, chicken, bacon, sausage, etc. As well as some great desserts too. Just get there early, they do run out of some items throughout the evening.

A packed house and well deserved because the BBQ is first rate. We got the "Table Breaker", which is a great way to feed alot of people. I highly recommend the Pork Belly, but really, everything on the table was delicious.

Yum. This is a must go to if you like bbq and not afraid of calories. Half rack of pork ribs served two of us easily. The side dishes equally as good. Loved the pit beans and corn on the cob. Even the collard greens were delicious. Our neighbor was eating the Texas poutine - now THAT looked sinfully good. We sat at the bar and the service was excellent.

Live almost an hour away so I only make the trip two or three times a year but boyyy is it worth it every time! Food is amazing and you will not be disappointed! My only recommendations: 1. maybe corn bread pudding? :) and 2. please update the google hours when this place is closed: made the hour trip last time because it said you were open on Google but you were standing up for a cause and closed in observance. Yay for the standing up a cause! Nay cause I ended up driving for a hour and change only to end up eating at a not so great place. Don't give me trust issues :( Still love this place :) <3

Disappointed and sad to say we have been calling and emailing since Tuesday trying to get a table for 15 for a party and wasn't until Thursday we got a hold of someone. She said the one room wasn't available so we called back again to only get no availability but 2pm. Well thanks for not calling back ever or replying to email. One suggestion don't treat customers poorly that refer people to your place of business. Leaves a bad taste. Food is great here just have had issues with communications for reservations which ruined our birthday celebration we were looking forward to Saturday night.

I love their food, ribs are great and the brisket is awesome (((BUT))) first and last time i visit the place with my wife they sat us in the other side of the room in a huge family table with no one around it seems like they was hiding us from the rest of the people....we notice they have enough empty tables also they have a few waitress doing nothing but we have to wait a looooong time for somebody to take our order and guess what??? They send a spanish girl...again it seems none of the white waitress want to take our order!!!! They have that sticker on the bbq sauce that reads "LETS MAKE BBQ GREAT AGAIN" they shouldn't mix politics with a restaurant...i make a big mistake voting for trump because i was trying to protect the 2A but this people is totally nuts about trying to make minorities inferior to them!!!! YOU SUCK HOODOO BROWN BBQ!!!

we (a bunch of Texas boys) visited last night and were far from impressed. no sweet tea hot beer and they boiled the brisket, you never boil brisket. they claim to be the best Texas BBQ on the planet. But we've had better BBQ from a trailer by the road side. I made a little comment on their Facebook not near what I did hear and it got deleted and I got blocked. Another thing Texans frown upon (cowardness) the ribs were ok but thats about it. if it was possible to give no stars thats what I'd do. if you want Texas BBQ you're gonna have to travel about 1,500 miles southwest.

I only gave it 5 stars because I am not necessarily a diner who demands that most of the advertised menu items actually be available to eat. When we went they were out of such bbq staples as beef brisket, pork short ribs sausage and cornbread. However the items they did have particularly pork belly and beef rib were so distinctly good there was nothing to complain about really.

Nice location, and wasn't noisy like 99.9% of all US restaurants/diners/etc. Could have been kids friendlier ( like keep some crayons and coloring pages just in case) but I'm assuming that no one goes there with kids. Food was good too. But drinks a bit pricey:)

Worth the wait. The absolute best brisket hands down. Excellent ribs. The wife had a strawberry goat cheese salad with grilled chicken - they were out of crispy smoked chicken. Hogzilla on brioche was mental and even good as leftovers. Soooooo good.

The food was ok, but there was 2 plates on 20 from the menu. Moreover, we were just sitting down and they were cleaning all over the place. At the end, we order something but after one hour waiting, they said that was not available. I'm sorry, but it was a bad experience.

Ever since I moved to CT I've been looking for a good BBQ restaurant. This is just under an hour from where I live, and it's worth the drive. We were told they were out of a few things, including the baby back ribs.... so the 4 of us ordered 1lb of brisket, 1/2lb of pulled pork, 1/2lb of cracklin pork belly, and one link of each of the sausages. The brisket was my favorite. Once we had finished all that, our server stopped by to tell us they had just pulled some ribs off the smoker, so of course we had to get a 1/2 rack. They were delicious, fall off the bone ribs. Unfortunately we had no room for dessert, though I wish I would have saved some because I saw a few go by and I wish I had one. Maybe I'll save some room on my next visit...

Unbelieveable. If you love meat, you absolutely have to go here. Their bbq sauce is on point as well. Good price for even better food. Probably the best meal I've had in years. There will be a wait to get a table but it's well worth it.

We went for a very late lunch on a weekday and it wasn't crowded but to our surprise several tables were filled. We understood why when we tried the pork ribs and beef brisket. The latter was a little too fatty on one end, but the flavor was excellent. The only suggestion I have is to add a few side salad options (smaller, not a regular salad size). Very good service and relaxing ambiance.

By far the BEST BBQ place I've ever been to! HOODOO Brown BBQ was packed before 5pm on a Sunday and people were willing to wait 45 minutes for a table. It's totally worth it! We waited 40 minutes for our table of 5. Everything was outstanding! From the appetizers: Nachos with pulled pork and Texas Poutine w/ Brisket to family style dinner entrees of rack of pork ribs, pork bellies, chicken wings, mac & cheese, home made cornbread and apple vinegar slaw!! This is my ONLY go to for true Texas Style BBQ food!!! Con? Sometimes they run our of food! Last time I went there, I took my Mom telling her they have the best ribs, went there early, waited for 20,minutes, we were seated at a table and the waitress said they ran out of pork spare ribs? What? We ordered the beef ribs. Not the same.

Food was great! Ribs were tender, smoked to perfection. The chicken and waffle made my heart melt. Did not leave me feeling heavy. Jess our server was amazing. She handled our corky group with grace. Parking is a little difficult but it worked out.

Great Texas Style BBQ Restaurant! Sampled a little bit of my favorites... Beef Brisket, Pulled Pork, Beef Ribs, Cracklin' Pork Belly, Pork Ribs, Corn Bread & Potato Salad just to name a few. Definitely ask your waiter for assistance when ordering, as many of there portions are based on weight, otherwise you'll be taking home a ton of leftovers.

They offer a Kansas City sweet style BBQ sauce as well as a Carolina vinegar based sauce on your table. If you want to kick up the heat they also have hot sauce you can add.

Friendly staff, casual atmosphere. They only take reservations for parties of 10 or more. Otherwise, it's first come first served.

Food is excellent. Portions are large. Problem is the smoke. They have to do something about the smoke in the restaurant. Came home and had to put all my clothes in the laundry. Smelled really smokey. Don't want my husband to take the credit/blame. I was there, not he.
