I have been using HomeGuard services for the past two years. They're very knowledgeable and details with their inspection report.
Good customer service and we get report the same day or the very next day. Getting the report back quickly is a plus, because buyer have an advantage to get the seller to fix the problem before the contingency period or price negotiation.

Clifford was easy to talk to and very professional. He made magic happen and got all my inspections scheduled even though there was limited availability. Homeguard is lucky to have someone with such exceptional customer service!
Bought a house based on their reports, but found more issues than what was reported. Scheduling and order was fine at the start but found out they hire 3rd party subcontractors which makes the job process linger. Then at the end my invoice had an additional "other" charge at the end for obtaining city permits / inspection fees from their own Home guard inspection division. I don't think an additional $1050 to obtain a permit and inspection fee sums up to 7 hours for a fungus wood repair. It was not as if the job required a structural change or requiring and engineer to plan the work before hand. Inspectors only took 5 minutes to look at the work. I should have been informed that I was being billed for permit waiting time. Otherwise, I would have acquired it myself. I am well aware of the process but went with Home guard to give them a chance. However, I did not think they would do this and make me feel like I misunderstood the contract.

They included false reports in my termite reports, I found that when actual contractors came out and repair the items. It was reported as fungus issue, but it was not. The problem was they replaced the wood members regardless and charged me for the repair. The wood members actually do not even match the original texture. It was the worst possible experience I've ever had with a contractor. Stay away from Homeguard.
*Update - Homeguard reached out and tried to resolve the issue. They reduced the cost by $375 and settled an agreement.
After receiving what I felt was sub-par service and negotiating for a small cost reduction for the additional cleanup I needed to perform following our termite treatment, I posted a negative review. Jessy with customer service immediately (less than 24 hours) reached out to see if she could make it right. We were able to reach an agreement so while I was not pleased with the initial service they did make things right in the end.
Tania Beltran was extremely friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable in processing my payment. Also Spanish which is something very important to us.

The inspectors made false claims about the condition of the house. From comments that there was not enough room to walk behind a camper in order to access the side of the house, when in fact a person could pass through the area, to claiming the existence of a flea and tic infestation, the inspectors made every excuse as to why they couldn't complete the inspection.
they refused to complete the inspection until some kind of action be taken to remedy what they had(falsly)reported. From what these inspectors were reporting, I was very concerned about the condition of the house and I feared buying it! I had to hire another company to investigate the crawl space in order to find out what was really going on and in fact, no infestation at all was found.
My experience with HomeGuard was extremely stressful and caused me to lose time and money. My realtor nearly lost the sale and will not be hiring HomeGuard again.

HomeGuard folks came in and performed the scheduled section-1 repairs. They entire crew on both the days were on-time and professional, and clarified all my questions. Final payment was also made hazzle-free. Stephania Perez was very cordial, professional and quick.
I used HomeGuard to perform my home inspections back in September 2017. They provided detailed reports identifying several issues that we had remedied by the seller before purchasing. In March 2018, we discovered water damage on interior drywall that required unexpected roof repairs. The licensed roofer was shocked that our inspection did not identify the issue that had existed for many years and should have been identified during the inspection process. I'm very disappointed that HomeGuard did not identify this issue during the inspection as I'm now dealing with $2k+ in damage. When I called HomeGuard, they sent someone out that immediately claimed there's no way they could have seen the damage to the roof six months prior. Of course, he made that statement from the ground before even getting up to the roof to look at the issue. I would never use or recommend HomeGuard to anyone. This was a costly mistake for my family. Avoid at all costs.

Customer service and ability to schedule on tight timeline was impressive.
I would not spend my money here. Inspections were completed with line items and pictures not matching on the report. The company made the mistake and did not own up. Tried getting in contact with Curtis Senior Vice President and he said he was too busy to talk and in a meeting. Invoiced us and overcharged us and on top of everything - added a late fee. Our realtor uses their company quite a bit and our realtor requested a fix. Curtis didn t budge. We ended up paying for the purpose of moving on. Don t spend money here.
Got roof inspection and termite inspection done by them, they said House was all good. Soon after I moved in I had a $4000 roof repair needed and $1000 termite infestation repair out of pocket on my own.
Have receipts of work done they refused to pay for the repairs let alone refund the inspections.
Save yourself your money and just call a good roof company in town that will come out for free to check roof better than them and call a termite company to come out and check the house for free as well and better than them.
I don t know why these companies exist they do shady business when there s already well-established companies that specialize in these fields that check houses for free.
I believe they only exist for realtors because the realtor can easily sell the house by them recommending these companies to you that will easily pass the house as good so you buy it and they get the sale.
I hope I can save someone else this headache and money in the future.

The company needs to understand that it is imperative for their inspectors to be customer service friendly. My last experience with them ends today. A rude home inspector rushing because he has not had his lunch. He inspected a 2500 sq ft home under 30 mins that's including crawling in the crawl space. These buyers are about to buy a 1.25M home I'n Danville and they are getting a sub par service. #Homeguard really needs to take corrective action.

If I can give you 0 stars I would. I bought a home based on an inspection that you lots did and there was a big leak that somehow the home inspection missed. I will never use you and I will tell everyone in my immediate and extended circle not to ever use you guys for inspections.
Buyer's agent hired HomeGuard to conduct Home Inspection and ALL the items the inspector called out were FALSE. Buyer's agent agreed and NO REQUEST FOR REPAIRS was submitted. Inspectors are not qualified nor honest.

I love using them, and having re-inspections, they are on my speed dial for inspections and I love the record keeping on each property.
