While Michele was professional and courteous, my experience with Home Mortgage Alliance was negative.
They struggled to get the appraisal of the home we were offering for scheduled. Although it did manage to happen in time, we were concerned we would end up losing the home from the delay.
We had worked with Michele before, but this time around we frequently found ourselves shunted to Michele's other business associates, often with no introduction or explanation of their role. It was often unclear who was responsible for what and with whom we should be communicating.
The worst aspect was payment of our mortgage. During the process, we were told we'd be able to set up payment and visibility through our bank, as we had been able to do with our previous mortgage. That didn't happen and we were requested to set up payment through a LoanCare site. When this process proved difficult and we asked for some clarification, Michele and her team could not satisfactorily help us and just left us to figure it out on our own. Eventually, I received a letter with an address I could mail payments to, which I did. The day after I placed the payment in the mail, I received a letter saying my mortgage had been sold and LoanCare would no longer accept my now mailed payment. Several phone calls later, I finally established who was my new mortgage owner, though the fate of this previously mailed check was less clear. A few weeks and phone calls later, I finally had everything set up with my new mortgage provider, learned the fate of my check, and managed to not double pay my mortgage. I thought everything was finally solved. I was very frustrated when a few days later I got a letter from my insurance saying that my lender wasn't communicating with them or paying my homeowner's insurance from my escrow. Home Mortgage Alliance, AKA LoanCare, couldn't even properly inform my insurance of the sale, leaving me to do it. So I had to make 3 more phone calls, adding up to another hour and half of my time. I felt completely unsupported by Home Mortgage Alliance. Clearly, I was just a number to them. Having just moved with 3 little kids, spending hours on the phone cleaning up their messes was frustrating.
Save yourself several headaches, and go with a different lender. I know I will not use Home Mortgage Alliance again.
