Tried to call in twice to ask a question on the vaccination form (Went through the online system which kept crashing, until it showed 'full')

Review is because I called in, was on hold for a half hour, finally got a ring only for the operator to hang up on me. Called again, another long wait, also hung up on. Never got to even talk to a real person. Rude.

EDIT: Tried to call the number in the response, same number I wrote my review about.

Guess what? 20 minute wait and then hung up on. AGAIN.

I usually do not write reviews but after my experience, I had to make sure I wrote one. A couple of weeks ago, my nephew (2 months old) came to this emergency room because he was having issues breathing. He came to Holy Cross Hospital through an ambulance. After a long wait, the doctor came to check on the baby and we explained what the problem was. The baby was having difficulty breathing and he turned blue while we were home. She took notes, wanted to run tests but she doesn't seem to believe that it happened. About 30 minutes later, my nephew started having difficulty breathing again in the ER room. The room we were put in had no buttons to call nurses or doctors. When I went to the nurse's station to call someone, no one was there. Finally, a nurse heard our scream and arrived. Instead of helping the baby, she went to get a doctor. Meanwhile, we are trying to do our best to help the baby. Somehow, the baby started breathing again. 3 minutes later, the doctor arrived and asked us what the issue was. I was livid. I asked the doctor why no one was able to help us during the problem. WHAT'S A POINT OF BEING IN A HOSPITAL WITH NO HELP. After this incident, we asked to be transferred to Children's Hospital. While waiting for our transfer, the doctor came back and stated that all the tests are negative and the baby is fine and we are over exaggerating everything. She kept bragging about how she has been a pediatric doctor for over 12 years and she has kids herself. Although, admitting that she doesn't work with infants often. Despite her opinion, we got transferred to Children's National Hospital where the actual doctors properly diagnosed and helped my nephew. When they did the same test at Children's Hospital the test was not negative. I believe the doctors and nurses in this Holy Cross Hospital need to be trained on Implicit Bias and Racial Disparities in Health Care. As an organization serving a very diverse community, they need to better treat their patients and listen to the issues. The reason why she didn't believe us and take our case seriously is because of our skin color. This is why healthcare in the U.S horrible. Black women go to the doctor and routinely feel unseen, unheard, misunderstood. Sometimes you fear you ve been misdiagnosed. But your concerns are brushed off. You aren t apprised of the full range of treatment options the doctor seems to assume they don t apply to you, or that you can t take in all the information. This is exactly what happened to us at this hospital. As a person, who works in healthcare, I do not advise anyone to go to this ER.

Really bad experience in regards to the maternity ...

Really bad experience in regards to the maternity stay, the professionals I had from the gynecologist were the exception, everyone else was a deception. Small rooms, no cleaning policy (no change sheets, clean floors, they did take out the garbage daily, but that's it!). They bet so much in the technology, you will feel uncomfortable because the only thing they care about is PAIN, which is not a bad idea, you will get drug and receive enough meds to be alright, but the space will feel a 1 star for service, true care, and understanding. I had to talk to the nurse in charge, but this is beyond the nurses. They have to take care of 10 patients in each shift, but no only for meds, training parents, providing care for babies and parents, but also clean the mess, which I regret to ask for, but someone needed to do it. After day 2, I became my own janitor and procurement to make sure I have clean stuff, and a nice environment. I had to ask too many questions to feel aware of what is going on. Some nurses were really outstanding the other ones had to touch for care, but for sure professionals. If you are humble and very positive be sure to be aware this will be a challenge, because if you don't ask for them it seems you are doing GREAT and they will stop asking shift after shift. BTW, it is this system of following up with her own notes as well, it seems they can't do it appropriately asking patients "was something you needed last shift that was missing, that I can help you on?" that is a good start to follow-up and condition a start of an OK experience to then become great. Our stay was based on luck and with the Pandemic, no standards were followed.

I don t know why the hospital keeps allowing this. Two times during my pregnancies, while I was in so much pain they sent me back home. The first time I was sent back home, I almost gave birth in the car on the way back to the hospital. The second time I was sent back home during labor, I wound up going to a different hospital and gave birth immediately upon arrival! I knew holy cross hospital would let me down the second time, and they did! Ladies please don t go home if you are in pain because you know yourselves better than anyone! Do not trust these nurses or the doctors. They are so quick to send you home if they don t think you are in immediate need of maternity care.

Ive worked in a hospital for 5 yrs so I get it. Priority is what s most important BUT what isn t cool is when both the triage nurses AND doctor try to downplay your symptoms or downplay how you re feeling. Especially when I get a very high reading from my PCP doctor and they tell me to go to the hospital. Literally the waiting wasn t the big issue. It s a hospital in the middle of a congested area but finding just an OUNCE of sympathy would come a long way in ensuring patients don t curse you out. I literally saw a fight about to ensue with a patient and a cop while escalating the argument. Thats what s wrong with the hospital. Hostile attitudes and no sense people working. ALSO some of the staff kept calling out pt names in very low volume. There s a full ER no one can hear over all the chatter !! So annoying.

Rooms were spaciuos and clean. The staff is professional and treated me with good manners. I would definitely return to this hospital for any future care. I highly recommend this hospital to any patient in need of care!!!

Another disappointing experience from the holy cross team. I can not wrap my head around the fact I his is a hospital, service is horrible, team members not friendly specially when you check in.
I don t understand why you have people like that working in a place like this if they can t give proper customer service.
My wife is pregnant and in pain sense Saturday night,
Kept her there till almost 3am sent her home just for her to come back the next day by 12:00 pm. Kept her there passed midnight I he following day but still didn t give her any help. She was told they can t not assist people with insurance and that she would have to go to her main doctor who wasn t open.
Why is it called emergency room if they can t help you with an emergency? I don t get it. I have went to this location plenty of times over and over again they show how untrained the staff is and how good Unprofessional they are. If I can rate this place less then one start I would.

literally the ER is like a 4+ wait, like someone could be close to dying but because of the long wait they d be dead already, they take so long to just get to one person, they say rooms are full but all the times i ve been there, they weren t full. i came yesterday night with my parents and my brother because both me and my brother were really sick, and they made us wait like 5 hours, we decided to leave because there is just no point of waiting for a service we were never gonna get. so HCH get yourself some better employees please, the ER takes so long when is shouldn t because it s an emergency which is also in the name.

One of the most traumatizing, humiliating, degrading , inhumane experience I have ever had. After arriving to the Emergency room I was put on observation in room 112 for 24 hours and where the nightmare began. Because I got to admit Emergency was full but I was seen right away. 5 Stars for the emergency!! That night I got a little bit of sleep after the pain shots would give me temporary comfort and I was awakend by massive pain again. they also ran tests and in the morning a very nice beautiful Russian doctor came and talked to me. She said she was moving me to a better room and they were still running tests. Later that night tests came back and I had another gentleman go to my room. he said I would be staying there and going to surgery at 7 the next morning. I asked him who he was and he said he was the surgeon and he did not want to sound rude but he wanted to know what insurance I had cause he wanted to make sure he was getting paid. That was understandable but a little tacky since all the information was already in my file . ...Yay they found the problem... a pretty huge gall stone that was now causing extreme pain, vomit, infection and fever. And the worst is that I had to remain in that room where ironically the caregivers didn't seem to care. I am not going to go thru all the details but I peed on myself because of all the pain and a nurse call light was nowhere to be found cause I was not even aware of one. Hmm...I thought that was a safety issue. Someone should look into that. I couldn't make it to a bathroom. At one point i tried to make it to the bathroom but was hooked to the Iv which accidentally was yanked off and had blood on me and finally had nurse Emily who I can say was very decent with me and got me my meds in a timely matter. I did have to sleep in a bed with urine and in a dirty gown filled with blood that was only changes right before I went to surgery because as one of the nurses said. "We can't have her going to surgery looking like that" Thank god for surgery...I got a clean gown and bedding. I am not going to go thru every detail of how rude and uncaring they were,
Surgery was another story, It was night and day. Every one there was very professional. The anesthesiologist was very reassuring and professional. The minute I woke up, the excruciating pain was gone. I thought it was over but they took me back to that same room where they had the camod there full of urine they expected me to throw out when I could barely walk because of my pain.My nurse was rude and I got to see my doctor who I asked if i could go home that day. Thank god I got to go home after being able to recuperate a few hours and eating.
I wil get over the trauma of this whole ordeal. I just find it hard to believe that In my most vulnerable and indefensless moments I was treated with so much disrespect from the very persons who get paid to do just that. I am grateful to be feeling better and I probably wouldn't even be leaving this review if it wasn't for the last bad taste my discharging nurse left me with when I asked her a few questions about my discharge papers like the medication I was getting and if I could get a note for work. She rudely said you should have asked your doctor that is why you have a doctor.___.Okay... no more questions. It is undignified and repulsive to me that being my discharge nurse I could not even ask questions cause I was bothering you? Really sad. Its a shame you go to school to learn to be a nurse and you loose all ethics about caring for someone. It didn;t take much to set a good customer relations with me, especially being in never-ending excruciating pain. What was a 10 0r 12 hour shift to you was the longest day of my life as every hurting moment seemed like an eternity. to me. Trust me I am not complaining about a cleaner room, or better food. I am giving a genuine complaint about the customer service given in the observation room. When I asked to speak to a charge nurse they said she'd be around...How likely do you think that happened?? I will be leaving reviews everywhere

This place is so slow. And very little parking. ER is slow and rather uninterested in your emergency. You need to scream and whine to be seen faster.
My baby boy needed stitches in his face near his eye. He waiting in the waiting room for at least 1.5 hours and then waited for 5+ hours in a little dirty back room. I did want all the wait because it was starting to heal while still open. I repeatedly had to ask them how much longer. Each time they acted like they were surprised I was still there.

The nurse practitioner was to see him, not a doctor. She took her time doing everything. She only put in 3 stitches where he probably needed 4 or 5. It's healing ok but they said he will not have a scar. He will. They didn't want to give me another bandage and told me it wasn't needed. Yet the direction printed out for me said the exact opposite. Smh @nurses these days. I have had stitches 4 times. Two in my face and never had this amount of foolishness.

Accident happened at 6 pm, got to the hospital by 7pm.. didn't get home until 3am. Unexceptable. I will never return.

I recommend Washington Adventist. Always have a good experience there.

from check in at the ER to the express care doctor they did a good job
I give them a 5 star rating. The problem was with the nurse at the express care who is supposed to check me out after the doctor have release me.
I was waiting at the room for 2 hours. So I went to the desk and ask when will nurse at the desk, she said I will be there I'm just finishing up something on the computer. went back to the room, after almost an hr & 1/2 I went back to the desk again and she was still infront of the computer not sure what she was doing and ask her again. The doctor or nurse practitioner who checked me said are you still here? I thought you already left hours ago. He asked the nurse to do the check out and she said, I am busy and she didn't even bother to apologized after me asking her twice and waiting for more than 3 hours. The doctor/nurse practitioner grab the my folder and we went back to the room and release me. I wish I got her name but I didn't.
Holy Cross is always my/our go to hospital because of the great service it's been providing to your patients but it is that type of staff that kills the Hospital reputation.

Went to Holy Cross ER after some liver, kidney, and breathing side effects from two GI meds. This was my first time there and I was a bit reluctant being a transplant from the Baltimore area where I was spoiled by great hospital like Hopkins, Univ of Maryland , and St. Jos. The entire experience was top notch !!! Granted I got there at 5:00 am and the place was relatively empty. However From the Triage nurse, ER nurses, techs, and doctor everyone was friendly and respectful. Dr. R was thorough and did EKGS, CT scans, Ultrasounds and Blood work. They were quick and efficient and I did not wait long for any testing. I was in the ER for approx 6 hours total but they did a lot during that time. Discharge was also quick and efficient once I was told I could go home. I would highly recommend going there. Felt well cared for !

Quick Review

Quick Review

RN s on average are excellent. There are some questionable ones as well, but there are a lot of new grads (admittedly), and you can t run a Hospital on new grads.

CNA s are very questionable. I ve witnessed one use the syringe needle in the patient to find a vein, and of course the patient screams loudly. Instead of locating a vein then putting the needle in that spot. Some as they clean patients, they dig in their private areas really hard, and wonder why the patient is screaming that it hurts.

Social Workers (not including speciality areas like Palliative Care)...This is really bad, and needs change as quickly as possible. Very very very rude, aggressive, interrupts while talking. Hears to respond, instead of listening. You may get 2 words out, and they re on the attack. Doesn t do any real leg work to assist patients. I m not sure if they re over worked, but their attitudes are so bad, it makes you wonder why they entered the field. It s truly sad.

Management staff is ....okay, but you ll be surprised (maybe) by the lack of empathy exhibited. It seems like it s more of a superior, title, ego war , than a, I m here because I really care .

This system has the ability to obtain the next level of excellence in care, but money can t be the driver. Patient Care, fair and equal treatment of patients, respect for patients, skilled training, have to be pushed to the forefront, so that the community can develop a newfound level of trust. Without trust, there is no return visit because health is at the top of people s livelihoods, and they want the best care for themselves, as well as their loved ones. Good Luck Holy Cross!

I was turned away twice from proper care because I couldn t afford the deposit. My blood pressure was high 170 and I was bleeding from both my nostrils.
They put something in my nose and sent me on my way.In less than 48 hours I was in the same scenario because I was bleeding from my nose and mouth.Bu the time I met with a Dr the bleeding stopped but still with the high blood pressure I went home.It is now 3:21am and again I ve been bleeding for over an hour

It's just a worst hospital especially for ER,

It's just a worst hospital especially for ER,
They don't care what you are feeling but they tell you they are busy, (like a restaurant)
The nurses at the triage don't know how to triage and very rude.i was there because my daughter was sick, stayed 5-6 hrs, nothing happened. As the mater of fact they put her under priority.
I had to take my daughter to the bathroom and heard her name called.
I got out of the bathroom right away and went to the nurse.
Then she said 'hang on' , 30minutes passed I asked the other nurse she told me to wait.
After 3hrs, they called her name again.
And ofcourse after we got inside another rude and worst experience with the nurse.
I will never ever come back again

Arrived to the ER at 5 am. Waited 5 HOURS in the waiting room to wait another 3 hours to meet a doctor. Ridiculous. When I also arrived there was only 4 people waiting. Including myself. Fix it up.

I went in to emergency room, was then transfered to ICU spent a miserable 3 days there. I told them i didn't have insurance but insisted on treating me anyway.
Now I am stuck with a huge bill and they are so rigid they inisist I have to make it in three payments, they dont have flexible payment plans .
I am getting bills from left right and centre, I am new to the country ,I have never had a hospital stay since I moved to the US.
I dont know half of what anyone did or why and even the janitor is sending me a bill I am sure.
So rigid ,all they are after is money and they are calling themselves a "CHARITY HOSPITAL?" Really????
The meanest hospital ,no mercy for poor people and low income earners.
Will never ever go back there ,would rather die on the side of the road. Learnt a huge lesson.

Horrible communication, after going through an emergency surgery alone And telling them muses physicians that I could not take ibuprofen because of possible stomach issues they continuously gave me ibuprofen making my condition worse. Along with several other issues this is not a very thorough team, I had to request to see my surgeon after surgery to see what was actually done. I m addition when I received my discharge papers they were filled with misinformation as if someone made things up to fill in space.

The nurses and Doctors provided excellent care for my Mom while she was there. There were nurses Martin and Johanes who were proficient and kind, as well as another nurse they worked with but I don't remember her name. They were all compassionate and caring. The PA Samantha was particularly compassionate and informative. All of the aides were patient, caring and professional. LaRosa and Minti went above and beyond. There was one transport staff who was especially kind and I think his name was Herman. There was also a transport staffer who was rude to my 87 year old mother but his behavior was a rarity! I could not forget the man who was at the front door and called everyone "family", always smiling and pleasant! Patient services Anjanette was so helpful in connecting me to my Mom and explaining the rules and everything!!!

My mom's was diagnosed right away after several appointments with other doctors and she received the surgery and care she needed!!!

Holy Cross is the best! Much thanks and gratitude go out to the staff! I want to thank you all, sorry if I missed some names.

This hospital is the worst. I ve been here since Wednesday night and I haven t seen a neurologist or any type of Dr just nurses and techs coming in my room every now and then checking my vitals. I m starting to get impatient with these people!!!!!!

My mother had knee replacement surgery there which luckily went okay. However, we were not given a case worker to go over her post treatment options for her care until the day they wanted to discharge her. She is an 80 year old woman with dementia and they wanted to release her the next day. Our family needed consult at least a few days before surgery for her after care...this did not happen and is now costing us dearly.

Her patient records did not reflect a true occurrence of what actually happened. Currently fighting to get this misrepresentation changed.

Very disappointed and misled. Will never recommend this hospital to anyone and can only hope our situation is not the norm, but I believe that it's their MO.

I went to The ER at Holy Cross on 05/7/16 night for severe pain due to a sickle cell crisis. I was escorted by my parents. I had pain in both arms and legs and pain shooting down my back. Upon arrival the Nurse took some basic info after I described my pain. He sent me to the waiting area, and I noticed he neglected to check my Vitals as he did for others. After a very long 1 hour wait (I had never waited longer than 30 minutes in an ER for pain.) I asked why the wait was so painfully long (pun intended). The nurse rambled on about ambulances, and lack of empty rooms. As if I didn't notice all the people behind me who's names have already been called. He proceeded to take my vitals after realizing his earlier mistake, then promises the next available room would be mine. Alas the wait was too long and the pain was too great. :( We left and went to a different ER, where I received more immediate care. The staff would be better improved with patient assessment and communication and eliminating neglectful attitudes. Holy Cross disappointed me as this was one of the worst experiences of my life. I really hope Holy Cross reads these reviews and tries to make improvements.

The ER has some of the most excellent Nurses, Doctors and care givers. I only wish I could remember their names. Despite the long wait after checking in (3.5 hours) and the one ER staffwoman who got upset with me for throwing up in a trash can when the restroom was unavailable (Who fusses with a sick person for being sick?! Thanks for your concern) I would have definitely give them a 5 star rating. Unlike too many ER hospitals who are overworked and undervalued, these wonderful staffers had personality, great customer service, friendly and caring attitudes and most of all didnt' act like they were being inconvenienced by my need to find out with was wrong with me. 4 Stars for Holy Cross in Silver Spring

Skilled and caring staff. Very thorough in checking out the cause of every symptom. Communicates findings promptly. Covered all bases of care including spiritual, physical, and social. Helped with getting resources to continue care beyond the hospital stay.

My experience was actually with the Germantown Holy Cross Hospitals ER. Typically since I live in Germantown I have always gone to the Germatown ER that is associated with Shady Grove Hospital. I decided I would go the Germantown Holy Cross because it was new and I wanted to see how it was. I will NEVER visit there again!!!
I went in on 10/28 @ 1012a for back pain with shooting pains down my legs. There were a few people in the waiting area. The front desk clerk at the ER handed me a clipboard and asked me to fill it out. The technician taking my vitals, medication history and medical history never introduced herself but she was not rude.
The nurse or aide, I am not sure which one who called me to take me back into the ER itself never introduced himself and didn't even attempt to make small talk. He just walked my husband and myself to an exam room. The exam didn't have a gurney I could lay comfortably one because it was a gynecological exam table. I was not there for gynecological problems and was not able to lay back on the reclined gynecological table. I ended up having to sit there on the end of the table for the entire period of time.
The person that completed my registration process with taking my emergency contact information and insurance card info was very polite, introduced herself and said she hoped that I got better soon.
At one point during my sitting in the exam room the staff sitting immediately in front of my exam room door started talking about old hospitals in the DMV area, how they used to remove the uterus from females to cure them from their craziness. At one point the male employee sitting at the desk looked my way, but did not have them change the subject. I eventually got up and closed the door loudly.
In the entire time I was waiting for a physician to see me no one came to check on me or explain to me why I was not being seen yet. I have a hard time believing they were as busy as Dr Sherk, the physician who finally say me 2 1/2 hours after I checked in, says they were. The employees that were at the desk immediately in front of my exam room never left there desk.
Dr Sherk did apologize for the wait and said they had a rush of patients. Don't really believe him regarding this because other wise I feel I wouldn't have seen so many people hanging out at the desk. And he never asked for an X-ray to be done of my back. Just prescribed me pain medication shots, and pills and muscle relaxers to take home with me.
Another complaint although it is not as annoying as the rest is that they did have a TV in the exam room, which did turn on to static. The remote worked because that is how I turned it on, but it would not change channels.
Truly the most pleasant and kind person I met the whole time I was there was a Manager at the ER front desk when I was leaving. She was not the same person that checked me in. Also I discovered she was just working there for the day from their Silver Spring Hospital.
In all of the years I have been having to go to the ER for my back pain I have never been treated with such indifference. Even when I have been to the Germantown Shady Grove ER in the middle of the night a nurse is always coming in checking on me and explaining to me why I may be waiting a long time. And even though I have had chronic back pain for 19 years they ALWAYS take an X-ray of my back to ensure that nothing more serious is happening.

From the time I arrived at the hospital the customer service was Awesome. The preparation for my surgery, the nurse, doctor & the anesthesiologist ensured that my family & I understood everything about my procedure before operating as well as gave them instructions on how to follow up on me during & after my surgery.

Once surgery was a success. I had to stay in the hospital for a few days for pain management, they night staff Bismarck, Ms. V were the GREATEST & they really took care of me. The Morning staff is questionable & wasn't as attentive to me as I would have liked in which I rarely called them for anything. I feel that some people are there for a paycheck and no the people/caretakers. I was unable to bend so a lot functions were hard to do & the Morning staff wasn't as Helpful as the Night Staff which made me very comfortable and took great care of me.

My only suggestion will be to have your Morning staff retrained for proficiency, Professionalism & productivity.

Yestorday 08/20/17 I went to the ER with a friend because he baby girl(11 months) was chocking on something. She vomited everything out and afterwords could not breath well and had a lot of drull comeing out of her mouth. We were worried and wanted to see if the baby was fine so we took her in. It took 2 hours for a room to be ready. They said they were going to do an X-ray on the baby we had to waite another hour and a half for them to come take the baby to the x-ray room. I was there to inturpert for my friend (the baby's mom) because she doesn't speak english. The Doctor who was going to do the X-ray, told me to stay there in the room he took the baby and her mother to the x-ray room. I waited and soon after the baby and the mother came back crying. I asked her what happened she told me that the Doctor treated the baby with force trying to get her still and then he put her in a machine and the baby's foot was sticking out of that machin and he saw that and he just pushed the baby in there hurting her foot. The doctor also yealled( screamed) at the mother telling her that if she didnt like him using force on her 11 month old baby then he wasn't going to do anything to try to see if the baby was ok. The mother told me that one of that Doctors coworkers told him to no do that to not use force but he didnt care he did it anyways. When the baby and mother came back the baby's arms and anckels were red with marks on the from the force that doctor used. The mother was crying because she had never seen anybody treating a baby as if they were animals and because she saw what her baby went through and how the baby was crying. I went to the desk in the pediatric center of the ER and spoke with a nurse she apologized and spoke to the nurse in charge of the area at that time. She said she was coming but never showed up so we could speak to her about what happened. We understand that the baby's have to be still so they can take the x-ray but there are other ways to get a baby to get still with out using force. When we were discharged we went to the desk where theres a lady that puts the info about the discharge and said that we had to leave a deposite of $250 even though she knew that the baby was born here and that the baby has insurence and social. She kept insisting on us giveing the $250 which I had never heard of until yestorday. Holy Cross is getting much worse and worse with the way they treat people. I would like for you to bring this to that doctors attention and do everything possible so he doesn't keep treating babys or people like the way her treated my friend and her baby. He was an Indian guy sort of chubby. This experience with that doctor was around 9:06pm. We got to Holy Cross at 6:18pm and left the ER at 10:30pm

Was in a car accident on May 15th 2016. Ambulance took me here. Dr said my finger was dislocated. Numbed it up and tried to straighten it. While doing so there was crunching all in my hand. After X-rays, it was discovered I had multiple breaks. He was extremely rude and uncaring. The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because the nurses were very nice and made me feel welcomed.
There were dust rabbits, not bunnies, on all the vents and the floor was disgusting. Thank you to the nurses that helped me. But that dr needs to go.

We took home our sweet little baby girl, Nahla, yesterday. The doctors and nurses in labor and delivery were top notch. They treated us like royalty. One thing we learned is to always ask questions when you re not given a satisfactory answer. When all else fails, ask to speak to your doctor immediately. Special thanks to: Doctors Wilson, Kalburgi, Ganju, and Patel; and Nurses Emily, Alley, Rosana, Brittany, Liz, Marie, and Salem.

Beware of the doctors and nurses here. Only few are experienced in handling patients. We had bad experience last month (06/2020) . My wife was convinced to give epidural during delivery though she refused initially. That didn t work well and it had side effects due to mistake of the anesthesiast and created lot of mess.We regret in choosing this hospital. We will never recommend this hospital to anyone.

I came in for basically what I expected to be IV fluids. I think I ve been waiting for over 5 hours and I m still here.

Not sure if resource shortage or just a very poorly managed emergency room, or both. Doctor looked bored when I was relating medical history. Hey, sorry to bother you. Next time I ll tell a more entertaining story.

I may retire here at holy cross, since there doesn t seem to be any prospect for leaving.

Quite possibly the worst experience I've ever had ...

Quite possibly the worst experience I've ever had with Emergency Room services and care (or lack thereof) in my life. If you want to be placed alone in a room with ZERO monitors for BP/Oxygen Level/Heart Rate for a few hours, be treated like a psych ward case instead of a patient going through an acute medical emergency, and sent home with no diagnostics- this is a great place to go. If you want accurate diagnosis or treatment in emergency situation would avoid like the plague. Sought care elsewhere, was immediately diagnosed with aneurysm of a major artery and the need for surgery. The care instructions Holy Cross sent me home with would most likely have done permanent damage to the affected area or led to an even more serious life-threatening situation. Temporarily moved out of state to stay with relatives in order to receive proper treatment, and avoid another ambulance ride to Holy Cross. Though a handful of the staff were very friendly and kind, their overall failure to properly diagnose the issue, inability to take my pain or concerns seriously after multiple visits and failure to document a major allergy on patient records, definitely warrants a negative review.

I came to the Emergency room because I was scared of blood clots in my legs because of pain in my leg. I was admitted before 1am and still have not seen the doctor and its almost 5am. Almost 3 years ago, I had a stroke while waiting to be discharge. I complained then of severe headache and they did not even bother to do a CAT scan, they just gave me some pills and told me to sleep it off. Holy cross needs to do better.

Words cannot describe our gratitude to your phenomenal staff for exceeding any expectations we had from her (our mom s) recovery. The team on the 3rd floor is as responsive as they are professional, trying to fulfill every request It feels like we are at a 5 star hotel rather than a hospital To ALL the doctors, nurses, techs, therapist, the entire kitchen staff, custodians, front desk, and parking valet team we THANK YOU ALL! 5 STAR SERVICES! I contract with other hospitals in my line of work and know a phenomenal one, from a good one, and from a poor one. You guys are the BEST!

God bless you all!!!!

My daughter had her second son here at holy cross, she love the care she was provided. She said they treated her GREAT. She had a bad experience with first born at another hospital. I totally recommend this hospital to all my friends and family.

Their billing department is absolutely atrocious. We received multiple invoice statements which our insurance company was asking "why didn't they send the information to the us (the insurance company)". I could not believe that the insurance company we use was complaining to us about Holy Cross and their billing department. My wife gave birth in April 2020 and after the "final" bill was paid, we received another one SEVEN MONTHS later.

Also, the bathroom had blood on the floor, toilet, and sink before my wife even stepped foot inside of the patient room. I ended up cleaning the mess because no one from the custodial staff came.

The reason I am giving this place two stars was because the physician and the nurse that delivered our child were phenomenal and they deserve credit. Everything after that was, and still is, atrocious. I wish we were never diverted from our original hospital (they were full).

This hospital needs to get themselves together. My Mother is currently in this hospital in pain. It took two hours for my Mother to get medication for her arthritis pain from the doctor. Do the doctors care? You hate to see a love one in pain.

Not a good place to come for any Cardiac issues at all, they plan to discharge you before you even see anyone. plus no IV fluids for two hours !
Go somewhere else, if it is minor, you can come here, but anything major, ask for a transfer to another hospital, they will only do a chest x-ray and do not perfom CT scans or Eco to look further, this place operates like a urgent care not an emergency room ! They discharged me and I left and went to another hospital and they found out what was wrong with my heart.

Only if I could give 0 stars. This service is so bad. People go to the emergency room to get attended fast but they are there for more than 2 hours. That is absurd. I also hate the fact that Holy Cross Hospital gives better attention to people who has Health Insurance than to people who do not. My cousin was admitted at the hospital on a Sunday Night & he was in pain for 3 days & after the nurse found out he had applied for health insurance from the Hospital they started putting medicine for pain & giving so much attention. Since then I have always told people to go to Shady Grove Hospital in Rockville, their attention is way better & when you go to the Emergency room you don't wait 5 minutes when the nurse is already ready to get you in a room.

I had to give a one star at least just to get here and write something. I've been waiting for almost 7 hours just to get breathing treatment some of the nurses are so unprofessional and rude I had to ask to speak to the doctor to check if I'm still getting the treatment or not she apologized and said I thought they gave it to you long time ago. Smh at least the doctor is nice and professional. To bad that Washington Adventist was packed Next time I'll stay there they are more professionals and I know they wouldn't have me waiting for 7 hours.

This hospital thinks all chronic pain illness patients are ADDICTS and DRUG SEEKERS! Please don't be black( african american, not african they will help you then) A spanish doctor flagged my account even though I showed him I saw pain management and I do go to other hospitals depending on where I am and the illness takes place. He said you are a seeker and I will not help you get your high. How dare he! So now every doctor in this ER thinks do to his comments and flagging me that I am an addict. Not TRUE. I have lupus and rheumatoid Arthritis and a few other painful ailments. Its not fare for doctors who do not feel your pain to be able to call u an addict because you have a pm doctor. Everytime I come in here I have a problem. The doctors already have their minds made up about me and I am a legitimate pain patient. I can die from Lupus, but all they think is I just want pain medicine (it helps) but I need to be treated like a human being.

Hospital was supposed to be a place for people that need help when they are sick, I brought my brother that was in serious pain and desperately in need of help to the ER at holy Cross hospital from 12:15am to 3:30am, he was never attended to. I tried to inquire why, nobody was able to give me any reason. After waiting at the ER for four hours we decided to leave without seeing a doctor. It was a very bad experience. People lives matters.

In the last two years I have had 4 surgeries at Holy Cross. Each time I have been treated with respect and patience. All the nurses and aides have been pleasant and helpful. The surgery itself has been run like a well oiled machine. My doctors and the surgical staff have been wonderful. The OT and PT department has been cheerful and extremely helpful. I would recommend Holy Cross to anyone who needs surgery.

It's horrible. All the staff are rude and they don't know how to be considerate of people. They also don't know the time worth a damn. I know not to go there anymore. It's a waste of time I tell you

My friend was told to go to the Holy Cross ER by the Kaiser Medical Adviser late yesterday afternoon. I expected to waited for hours until he was seen however that was not the case. The Holy Cross ER as a Senior ER. Yes, a Senior ER! The entire experience was INCREDIBLE! No only was he seen right away, tests were ordered and given in a timely fashion. The NURSES of just short of being ANGELS. They made a potential scary hospital visit emotionally manageable and believe it or not pleasant.

Went there because I was concerned about a health issue. After sitting there for 3+ hours with no communication or hope of seeing anyone, I gave up and decided to try urgent care the next morning if it was still a concern. I understand being busy, but they could communicate with you more about wait times. Totally ridiculous.

This hospital is involved in kidnapping of people the so called experts claim my wife is experiencing postpartum depression after two months of being perfectly fine and fail to review the real cause of the problem after I explained many times to many people inside they refused to allow me to speak with her and now they are transferring her fifty miles away from her family this is blatant kidnapping against her will which is violation of Nuremberg code she is not your experiment

They're always not enough room for labor and I saw a woman on the floor crying out pain while waiting to have a room.
After 11days having my baby in this hospital I come back to emergency because I have a high fever. One of the male nurse in emergency toke my blood for test. He seem struggling to get the needle in my vein. He stick needle in and move it around, he also try to take out and stick back in many time until it hurt.
He come back from the test and said need more blood and he said because the blood have bubble inside, which I know why, he took needle out and put back in again many time. He toke the blood to same blood container to redo. He try vein in my hand this time and did the same thing, I tried not to be mean or said something but it hurt so much from the needle inside me poking around in my vein. I asked him that this don't make it swollen isn't it? He said yes it will but I'll be fine. I cried litterly. He stopped and try my other arm. This time he did just one time but I was feeling dizzy and blood doesn't come out much. Another nurse later come in and draw more blood from me again.
I'm in pain from fever and headache, then come in this hospital to get more pain. My one arm got blood clot from blood draws.

Avoid this hospital. Two hospital stays and twice resulted in surprise bills from 3rd parties from doctors I never met and keep sending bills 1 1/2 years after my stay. They allow scammy service/billing practices while you are literally passed out.

It is the worst hospital I have ever visited in the US. My wife has had an emergency that needed to be seen by doctors but I was waiting in the corridor for almost one hour (too long wait for a doctor in my life). The staff is so rude. I asked a staff member for directions but received incomplete response. We have been registered by a receptionist named Maura M. who was behaving like she has had no sleep during night. Acting like an arrogant boss. Too bad experience!!!

Let me start by saying the ER Nurse named Kelly G. was the most professional and pleasant nurse i ve ever come across, She dealt with more than 9 patients at hand ensuring accuracy and all while not breaking a sweat. At one point a patient s mother was screaming at Kelly in her face and Kelly remained calm throughout the whole ordeal. We may have been there a total of 10 1/2 hours in total and Kelly made this experience much better with her kind hand.
Kelly G we thank you for all that you do!!!

I came to the ER for high blood pressure and a possible thyroid storm. My initial blood pressure in the ER was 170/110. I stay in the ER for over 4 hours before I left. The staff never retook my blood pressure even though I ask several times. After I was triage, my name was never called after 4 hours, so I left the ER. The experience was not a great one at all and what makes the situation worst is that I am an employee of the hospital.

While my dad/uncle was there they really went above and beyond to take care of him. The nurses and doctors were excellent with communication and care. The follow up was exemplary as well. We have since changed primary care to Holy Cross.

I came into emergency on Friday Nov 17 levening looking for a member of our congregation of JW the Two admin on duty Gracy and Cesia were superb. Reason being my friend wasn't at the hospital. They looked up all the numbers of the area hospitals and gave them to me to call and see if my friends were their all the while assisting people who were coming in sick without getting frustrated. This took about an hour and or more and they looked at their screen to check again would you believe it they had just arrived by ambulance in their emergency room! They saved me time and energy from having to drive to various hospitals. Great customer service!!! They deserve a raise
God bless
