I love this place. Really comfortable seating, real popcorn, beer, wine, good pizza, what more can one ask? By the end of 2 day today, I will have seen 3 movies which have been nominated for Best Picture Oscar. Senior discounts, $6 matinees. They make me very happy.

The side effect of a community getting together to revive a historic landmark. The main theater is ginormous and the two upstairs theaters have a great mixture of table seats and regular ones.

They serve regular concession food but also Stumptown coffee and Sizzle Pie pizza. It s good to see a theater like this thriving and I try to plan to see new or old movies here if I can.

Beautiful building, great snacks and beer, and one of a kind programming that's fun and often important at the same time. The Hollywood's 70mm screenings are some of my favorite events of any kind in Portland, and their setup is world class: even better than the Egyptian in Hollywood, CA.

Great popcorn. It would be hard for my husband to get upstairs since he uses a Walker that made me sad

A Gem in Portland. I love going there for the HP Lovecraft festival in Octobers and seeing movies in 70MM over the year. I also love seeing special movies like the Shape of Water, which I would rather see with the Hollywood theater audience than other theaters who would not understand deep films. I saw the Green Room Oregon premier there and the great owner of the theater gave me and a friend a Green Room T shirt.

Absolutely the best way to see a movie. Great popcorn, selection of bottled (glass is an odd choice) drinks, the Pizza Pie Hole, beer and wine.

Screen is gorgeous, sounds great, seats are cozy.

Typical city parking, so be ready and early.

Best theatre in Portland. So many great events. Plus pizza, popcorn, beer, cider, kombucha etc.. They've been renovating the building bit by bit over the years, so it keeps just getting better.

Good old theater maintained by a non-profit, not a corporate owner. Shows classics, independent and some mainstream cinema. Affordable concessions.

Like no other movie theater I've been to. Makes all other theaters feel like The Olive Garden.

Old theater from 1929, so there's a very unique ambiance! They play primarily arthouse and independent films and some 2nd run blockbusters. The food and beer is great! They also have ice cream from Salt and Straw. Overall a great theater with a lot of Portland history rolled in!

Oh how I adore this theatre. Best programming around, excellent popcorn, local beers, comfy seats, delightful neighborhood. I can never go to a boring theatre again. Go become a member.

Hollywood Theater is the go to theater for cult classics shown in 70mm, indie films and film festivals. You can get beer and pizza as well as your usual popcorn and soda. The sound and picture is excellent. It's a nonprofit too! Plus it's got that historical theater feel. And reasonably priced. I'd rather go here than a big box theater any day.

Old, historical theater...cool place. "Mandy" wasn't that great of a movie, just a lot of killing flick with no great plot. I would give a 4 out of 10. "BlacKKKlansman", on the other hand, was a great movie. I would give it a 9.5 out of 10.

The Hollywood Theater is my favorite theater. Period. I wish I could attend more screening there. It is the only theater within 100s of miles to have a true 70mm projector. I have seen Dunkirk, Hateful Eight (Road Show Cut), and The Thing here. The Hollywood Theater is an experience for any level of cinefile from the beautiful marquee to the movie palace architecture to the friendly warm staff. As a Non Profit, the Hollywood is vital piece of the Portland culture. I cannot imagine the city without this theater. In a world of passive interaction with media, a trip to the Hollywood Theater is a participants journey. Get your friends together. See a showing. They serve beer. There pop corn is delicious. The best, most beautiful theatre. Historic, non profit, volunteer staff, special features, and the best popcorn in town...What more can you ask for?!

Great theater for old movies except in the summer because the AC never works. Also, buy your tickets online or you'll be left standing outside. Cheap beer, popcorn, candy and pizza from next door.

Become a member to keep up on special events like actors and directors at screening, members free movies, and watch B Movie bingo in the luxurious seating salvaged from an unnamed movie theater chain. And the popcorn is great especially with a tasty brew.

This place, Laurelhurst, and Cinema 21 are my favorite Portland theatres. Hollywood has Hecklevision, which can be a load of fun. Or really tedious.

Amazing theater such a great and history place to take your family to see a great Kung Fu movie or see movie festival or any independent movie. They have great staff and volunteers that do amazing job. I always look forward see a movie with my boyfriend there.

The Hollywood Theatre is one of the most important establishments in Portland. They are a non-profit which exists primarily to keep the spirit of film appreciation alive, classy, and informed. I saw 2001 here in 70mm. I heard the woman who inspired the film Contact discuss radio antennas and got her autograph. I saw them open up a free theatre at PDX airport. I contributed to their kickstarter to save Movie Madness. The Hollywood Theatre should be your number one hobby.

Beautiful theater with awesome and unique movies. Never too crowded, always a good time.

Love this movie theater. You can park free in the Broadway Medical Clinic after 5 pm. Just wish that the upstairs concession stand at the Hollywood had popcorn, so that you didn't have to wait so long at the lobby concession stand.

Every first Tuesday of the month they organize a B-movie bingo and it's so much fun, we revisit the worst of the worst of what the American film industry has ever produced, when you win you earn ridiculous movie posters, I go there only to play and laugh !

Great place, great people, and a non-profit to boot. There is something here for everyone. Amazing history as well. Important enough to name a neighborhood after it. Research for yourself!

We stumbled into this theater without knowing what we wanted to watch, and were surprised to find cheap beer on tap and reasonably priced tickets and snacks. Definitely one of the coolest theaters I've ever visited!

Best damn theatre. Rather than a preview, they showed an awesome short film from a Portland filmmaker. These people rule.

Great, classic theater. Airways an excellent selection of movies and a lot of special releases. Folks are nice, great selection of draft beer for $5, popcorn is only a few bucks. What's not to love?

Classic establishment for Hollyrood. A genuine theatre experience with modern amenities and good food and drink, including adult beverages.

Went to the Eco Film Festival. Unfortunately a movie we really wanted to see was at 9pm and a little late for us. The seats agree comfortable and the movies we did see were good. The only thing I would improve is that when you order pizza and get a token there should be a comment by the staff is a sign in the lobby explaining what to do.

A wonderful place to watch movies, I love the history and there's even a sitting room in the upstairs ladies powder room!

I've seen a few movies here and loved it every time. I would frequent it a lot more if I didn't live 30 minutes away. They tend to play the harder to find movies that are still in the theater like Conan O'Brien Can't Stop, Rachel Getting Married etc It's nice to have a local theater that plays the smaller, independent as opposed to the big Hollywood blockbusters.

I love this theater and the work they're doing to support film.

This theatre is very comfortable. The seats were nice and with lots of space between the rows of seats. They have typical concessions, but with vegan butter options for on the popcorn. There is a neat room that tells about the history of the theatre.

A must visit. Great place for a date or any film buff. Or both.

In addition to seeing great films, you'll walk away with a great experience. There's also a certain feel-good vibe when you help this local-nonprofit succeed!

A pleasant refurbished old theater with history and character, and great film selections. Concessions include excellent pizza supplied by Atomic Pizza (next door), local beers and wine at reasonable (not jacked) prices.
