Everything else aside, let's discuss the number on...

Everything else aside, let's discuss the number one issue that every consumer should be concerned about while staying at this location, and all Holiday Inn locations with the same policy. That is, safety. I'm an Orlando resident, not a tourist. I know very well that there is a lot of crime in Orlando, more so during holidays and summer months. My mother, as well. She recently sold her house and needed to stay here for 2 nights for more privacy than she had in my home. She was hoping for a pleasant stay. Over night, her window was smashed and truck was broken into. Everything turned upside down, a few items stolen. Medicine included. But it isn't about the items stolen, which the hotel was quick to excuse their liability on that one. We never mentioned them being responsible anyway. What we are irate over is the fact that their security guard claimed to catch the guy in the act, but he took off. He claimed, 'well, he didn't take anything'. But he did, or maybe someone else walking by since anyone would have been able to reach into the broken window because the hotel security never bothered to call police, nor contact her. Upon morning, once she discovered it, she went in and asked to speak with hotel security. She was told they were not there. She called police, the officer asked and the guy quickly came from the back office. Wow, afraid to speak with a senior citizen. Some security! The officer even lectured him that they should have called it in. It's obvious that they had very little concern over the incident, nor their customer. While my mom was on their property, they were both dismissive and unreachable. This and their security policies are unacceptable. She doesn't want 'excuses' as to why they are not responsible, she wanted an apology as to why they did not take action. Most citizens would have called police had they witnessed this crime. In this case, a person hired to do so couldn't be bothered. Holiday Inn not acknowledging this puts them at fault as well. My mom is planning a road trip across the US, she had just joined their rewards program AND bought a vacation resort stay package from them. She has no intentions of staying at any Holiday Inn ever again.

Clean hotel, with friendly and efficient staff. Conveniently located close to shops.

Bathrooms need a bit of attention, but other furnishings are fine for this class of establishment.

A restaurant on the premises, but the hotel is close to other restaurants.

Avoid rooms next to the fitness centre on the second floor.

I stayed here maybe almost 2 months ago. No issues. Nice as always. I travel for work, holiday inn by far has been my best experience, every single one I have stayed at, all over florida, all 5 stars (we mostly stay at holiday inn, I see why they mostly pick this hotel for us). Staff was polite here, which is always my experience as well. Thank you for keeping up with your corporate standards!!

At least there are no bugs...so far...this is two different rooms. The first had the ceiling damage and when I declined that room the second had no outlets to plug a computer in. What was plugged in the wall, their lamp with outlets that plugs fell out of, had a metal electrical box, no isolation between the box and the outlet and no cover plate.

Reckless on my part, but I accidentally left AirPods and a gold chain on a table in my room. I called shortly after and they were nowhere to be found. They also charged my card 3 times for one booking. Thieves!

The room was okay except that the fridge was broken and the shower curtain leaked all over the floor. The service was questionable. First thing when we checked in the clerk was rude and tried to have us pay twice. Then when we had a wonderful evening with the bartender, her Superior was very rude and had Absolutely NO Holiday spirit what so ever. It ruined the mood so badly that we returned to our room early. I believe his name was Tucker, horrible customer service. Christmas Eve too. Smh. There was also an extreme lack of trash cans which is funny now but it wasn't at the time. But overall the service was poor and we will be choosing another hotel from now on.

We came to this hotel on Monday night to a room that had no phone line which is a safety hazard was moved to another room in the middle of the night which is not cold compliant for the fire for fire safety as the fire sprinkler system was not covered or capped so that in the event of an emergency the sprinklers will go off because of the melting of the little cap inside to keep the pressure in had no working toilet in the second room which made it unbearable to get up in the morning and get dressed the management staff Amber along with the Associates at the front desk were not very sensitive in that we were still told we had to get up and do everything else but we had no restroom to use to get ready this hotel could be a great five star but they're missing some of the essential details in hotel management that would make them great especially when it comes to customer service need to be attended to

This hotel is fantastic- even when I had a minor issue, the manager John went above and beyond to provide me with a new room in amazing time. The leadership is really invested in maintaining a fantastic hotel, and I could not ask for a better experience.
The rooms are beautiful and well kept, and the gym has a good variety of equipment too!

Don't judge a book by its cover, the outside is not all that great and is surrounded by not so pleasing views, but once you enter the hotel it is beautiful and clean. The rooms are up to date and clean as well. Breakfast wasn't great, but overall a good stay.

I would give it 0 star, it is the worst hotel (i don't believe it deserves even to be called hotel) I have ever stayed in , very old , the room is smelly, unclean, away from attractions.
Stay away from this place. Sleep at your car but don't go there.

Granted I haven't stayed in that many Holiday inn's, this one is definitely one of the best. Very clean and modern, with a luxurious feel.

The weight room has weight's and your choice of cardio equipment. The king bed room was very clean and furnished tastefully.

Over all an extremely pleasant experience. Close drive to the Pinball lounge and bowling so definitely check it out if you have the time!

Stayed September 2016, traveled on business

Here's the thing, this hotel is nicely renovated, and the room was pretty nice. But then there are things like one of the two lights in the bathroom was out. Or there were holes in the ceiling in the bathroom that someone tried to fix but failed. And the little folded up towel decoration on my sink was soaking wet when I picked it up. And if you sit at the bar there's like a weird kinda mildew smell. The staff is friendly, and everything else is pretty good. Since maybe it was just my bad luck, only taking off one star.

Clean, quiet. Not dog friendly. No sundries in the lobby, had to drive to buy saline solution. Small crowded parking lot. Nice view of scenic Orlando.
Maintenance issues. Hallways near room were either excessively cold or unpleasantly hot. Air conditioner in room would shut off every 15 minutes and could not be turned back on for another 15 minutes. Water leaks in the bathroom, shower wouldnt turn off completely, partially clogged shower head.
Extremely soft and thick mattress, slight dip in center. Uncomfortable.

Hotel front desk Muhammed does a great job. He made sure I had anything I asked for.

While being on the road and staying at a lot of hotels, I've never had business with a better front desk agent than Muhammed!

We were here for a Robotics competition and let me tell you, the doors were so thin, you can hear people chatting and walking down the hallway. Not to mention, during the mornings when people leave, and the doors slam close, you will hear that as well. The rooms were decent, the beds were OK, the sheets in our room were clean, the mini-fridge, didn't work so well in an enclosed cabinet, so all the heat trapped in it, made it work harder. The shower head needed to be soaked in vinegar to get the hardwater calcium buildup out of the holes. Our room was next to the vending machine/employee only area and when they opened and closed that door at midnight, it woke me up. Our deadbolt to lock the door, didn't work at all. Not to mention, when one key worked, the other didn't, and so when we found out later, that my key didn't work, when they activated mine, my husband's stopped working. Thus him having to get two new sets. The breakfast isn't bad. I think I looked forward to this every morning. It's a buffet style, or they have menu of your choosing. The buffet starts with cut up fruit, yogurt, some muffins/breads, then the hot stuff like scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes (cubed potatoes, didn't look too appetizing to me), sausage patties, bacon and depending on the day French toast or pancakes. There is a chef who will make an omelette to order, just gotta ask the waitress to find them. The oj is the frozen stuff diluted with water, it tasted like it. It was called the Radisson inn before, it got bought out by holiday inn. I was hoping they did upgrades but it seems like it went downhill. I prefer much more to stay at the Hilton garden inn.

Updated: March 2017: Having visited this place, I wanted to share an update. This one worse than last time. My room had a used tissue behind the lounge chair. The fridge didn't work as well. It felt lukewarm and didn't trust the foods the next day. Our group was suppose to get a breakfast buffet as our part of our deal and asking for a To-go box to return to the room, I was told that wasn't allowed, however I was free to eat asuch as I wanted (this made no sense whatsoever). I will seriously ask our team to stop booking this hotel if they can help it.

We booked a reservation directly with the Holiday ...

We booked a reservation directly with the Holiday INN Orlando EAST - UCF AREA for a double queen bed non smoking room. Walking into the Holiday INN Orlando EAST - UCF AREA there was a stale musty odor in the lobby, followed with homeless individuals lounging on the lobby furniture. We are then given a single room key for a married couple and two children. We go on up to the room and upon entering the room are greeted with a wet humid feeling in the air of the room, the carpet is dirty, not vacuumed, and stained all over. The ac unit has a few curly hairs on the top of the unit. We open the curtains only to find out they are ripped, giant gaping hold directly in the middle of the curtain, with the part ripped laying down on the curtain. We attempt to walk into the bathroom but have to squeeze ourselves to the wall and counter top to get into the bathroom only to find out the top of the toilet is cracked, shower is dirty and the fan in the bathroom is so full of dust it s all you can see inside of the fan and so dust is falling out of the fan. We decide to check the bed, since we already paid and they put a incidental on the card and there are no refunds for canceling, we pull the stained comforter and extremely wrinkly sheets up to find the mattress top is full of dirt, crumbs and hair from top to bottom, both beds. We go downstairs to cancel as there is no way we were going to allow our children to sleep in a bed let alone breathe the moldy air in the room and hotel the entire stay. We were offered a upgraded room and free food, but if you can t have a clean lobby, elevator, hallways and rooms, why would we put your food in our bodies? We went a mile down the road to the Holiday inn EXPRESS which is the hotel we originally thought we were booking as this holiday inn UCF is using the EXPRESS reviews for themselves. The Holiday inn EXPRESS is exceptional! Go to the Holiday inn EXPRESS (independently operated) by the publix and across from pdq. You will not be disappointed as you would be with the Holiday Inn UCF.
