Drove 10+ plus and wanted to rest but we were given a room that was not cleaned! The sheets were all over, trash everywhere and room was not attended to before handing over to us! After calling front desk on this they asked what s not clean? As if there s some level of cleanliness we should expect! Explained and had to stand there for 30+ minutes to get a room which still was not the best! Toilet was clogged and had trouble flushing. Hallways, stairways smell of cigarettes and very unkempt!!
Worse stay after a tiring drive! Not happy!

Location is fine. Room was decently clean but needs a deep clean as there were crumbs on the side of the bed near the wall and behind the TV. The Keurig didn't work but they brought me a replacement. Water never got hotter than lukewarm which was the worst part. Areas in the bathroom has that pink slime in some corners. Breakfast was great though. Common areas really need to be vacuumed regularly.

This place is disgusting! I had my doubt at checkin but when ahead and took the key to see the room. After we seen it, We left and called our reward company to find us another place to stay. There is an odor and the room was nasty!! The bathtub looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks!! The area is pretty nice so don't be fooled by that. What an embarrassment to holiday inn!

I am not even checked out yet but my time here at this Holiday Inn Express Chicago-Downers Grove has been amazing the room is very nice and spacious. The whole complex is clean and open. But the best thing about this place is the staff. At check in they were super friendly and suggested a great room after I told them what I like. They also have a Shuttle service until 5pm with a 5 mile range. But the best thing is how personal they are, it was one of the coldest days of the year and they extended the shuttle past 5 pm just to pick me up so I did not have to walk in the very cold weather. I can not believe the service I am getting without having some type of VIP or Gold membership status. This service is something you can't find that much of any more.

The bed is comfortable, the price is right, the property is clean and the staff is great. There was a minor problem with our room that they had fixed before we had a chance to retirn to it with our luggage (I was impressed). Location is good, close to freeway and near many restaurants. Have not had any noise issues. It would be nice if there were mini-refrigerators in the rooms.

I'll never stay at this hotel again & wouldn't rec...

I'll never stay at this hotel again & wouldn't recommend it. Had three different problems before even getting into my room. I've called & called just to get hung up on. Manager told me he'd call me back just for a week to go by & I had to give him a call back he showed no concern just asked what I wanted him to do about it. Tried to call the person above him left message & have yet to hear back from him

I just wanted to compliment your Hotel on how CLEAN the rooms were and how pleasant your staff was while I stayed there Apil 1st, 2nd. Jackie the women that attended the Breakfast area was super kind and so great the food was perfect!! It was warm and you didn t have to ask for anything she was there on the spot cleaning and she served us pancakes what an awesome lady. Karen the women at the desk was also amazing you are lucky to have such kind staff. I would rather stay at your Hotel then the Embassy Suites I stayed in at Niagara Falls, your Hotel Beats them by a long shot!! Their breakfast was cold and dried out! Thank You so much for the stay! Oh and great price for one night!!

We liked the bathroom with it s modern features. Front desk we re nice. We booked online and confirmed with a call and no hassle during check out. Due to Covid19, breakfast we re to-go: muffins, oatmeal, bottled iced tea, coffee and it was understandable. The room we got had a king bed and sofa bed, microwave, small fridge and coffee maker. We simply had a pleasant stay over the last weekend of Sept. 20.

This place is extremely dated, perhaps built in the 70s, old, musty and the air conditioners make noise. So if you want to stay up at night, this would be the place. Stay away. There are better options around.

Was very happy with my experience here. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Great continental breakfast; HI Express always has the best free hotel breakfast. It's an older Holiday Inn that was updated to create a HI Express, not a new building like many in the chain, but this isn't a big issue. I was very happy with the room.

Staff was wonderful and I love the location. There were lots of groups there that weekend but we didn't have any trouble with noise, and the breakfast bar was well stocked. I do hope the rooms get revamped soon - ours was clean and comfortable enough but definitely showed wear and tear and felt run down. Overall I would stay at this property again.

It has been a couple of year since I last stayed here. They did fix the outlet issue but the hotel has not aged well. Combine this with the current pandemic and no mask required I would not recommend this hotel.
There are no IHG hotels in this area that are nice.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance is clear that travel heightens your chance of getting or spreading Covid-19. Wearing a mask helps mitigate this risk.

Night desk clerk charged my card three times only ...

Night desk clerk charged my card three times only to tell me that my card was decline. I had text messages and account information stated my card was charged. She was very rude and disrespectful. There were other patrons that complained about their room conditions and she was rude with them. She called the police and lied on them. I will never come to this establishment again.

If you would like spoiled milk with your breakfast, a smoke alarm with a dying battery and constant beeping all night long and an incorrect bill, and management that doesn t follow through then this is the place for you. However it is not the place for me, unlikely I will be back.

The hotel is very outdated, the bathroom is entirely too small, the central air unit was not working properly; it was lukewarm air running rather than cool and the beds were VERY uncomfortable! It is time to remodel and update. The only thing positive I will say is that the staff was friendly.

Recently stayed here as a get away for the weekend...

Recently stayed here as a get away for the weekend and it was great. The staff is super nice from the second you walk in !! They are going through a remodel at the moment but management makes sure that doesn t take away from your stay at all !! The breakfast was constantly being filled with new food as it was busy , and the manager Robert made sure we were always happy. The room was nice and spacious for 4 people and the bed was super comfortable even offered a soft pillow and a firm pillow !!! House keeping checked in and made sure we didn t need anything in the morning around 10 am and offered new towels blankets etc. lastly Claudia at check in/out was was extreamly nice ! We had a late check out and it was so easy and we went on with our day. Would love to come back once they have remodeled !!!! Can only imagine it will just get a face lift because the staff is already incrediable !

Overall: meh.....

Charging station in the room was broken.
Bit of garbage and lotsss of dust between the bed and night stand.
Hardly any breakfast available.
No hot water.

We found that there was no hot water at 10pm and were only staying one night, so didn t worry about it much. When I explained these issues to the worker at the front desk and asked for a partial refund on the room, she explained that they don t do that. They would have just moved me rooms...

Karen ( wore name tags) and fellow staff greeted me with a smile and provided exceptional customer service. Hotel check-in was a breeze and the reason is my paperwork was ready upon arrival. Clean room, great fitness center. Breakfast staff were fantastic and very helpful.

Very bad customer service. Booked a suite which was given to someone else and were downgraded to a regular room. They were not sympathetic for their own mistake. Finally got some compensation for the room after complaining.

Excellent Stay!

Excellent Stay!
The hotel has had a new management from close to 8-9 months (I was told) and I can surely say that everyone right from the front desk to housekeeping and the managers are doing a wonderful job!
Hotel location is very good (close by to Yorktown and near to a few Corporate offices as well).
The hotel staff are always very attentive to our requests and make sure they address their guests.

Brilliant work! Please keep it going!
I'm sure to stay there again on my next trip.

I have mixed feelings about our stay here. The room was clean, the check in and check out process was easy, but accommodations for disabled people were not available. When I booked the room I mentioned my father was disabled and needed a room with easy access, but when we got there they didn't give us that. Since there was no wheelchair available, my disabled father had to slowly walk down the hall after check in and I ended up using a rolling desk chair in the room to bring him down for checkout. He couldn't maneuver in the restroom and there were not adequate hand bars to assist him on and off the toilet. I also noticed that the window was not shut all the way. When i tried to shut and lock it, I was unsuccessful; it was broken. I doubt we will be using a holiday inn again.

First stay here, every pillow in the room had a very unpleasant musty odor. Second stay (at a managers special discounted rate due to previous issue), found a wad of hair in the beds linen (like someone pulled hair off a brush), hair and some sort of glob of dirt if god knows what stuck on the shower head, a dead insect in the bathroom, and the A/C Unit had intermittent issues so we had to switch rooms late at night. The room we switched to only had one issue... a loud buzzing noise when trying to use the bathrooms electrical outlet when the test/reset button wasn t pushed in so we avoided using that outlet to be cautious. I would ve mentioned all this if asked how was your stay? but I just feel like it s a lost cause. Staff are friendly enough and it s affordable, that s about it.

The breakfeast is amazing and HOT. The staff is absolutely courteous and nice. They are all polite and will help you the best they can with rooms and accomidations. Slight down side is the rooms are dated and the hotel used to be a smoker friendly. Little bit of mold in one of the rooms but like i said they were more than reasonable with switching us out :)

Nothing bad to mention. Was kindof disappointed about the amount of breakfast that was left when we went down a half hour before it was over. They needed to put more out but didn't. I understand why, but still.
