I stayed one night there but we needed pillows and blankets for our 3rd guest they gave prompt service and the breakfast was delicious

I like coming here - clean, friendly staff, lots of restaurants in walking distance. The hotel does show its age (hence the missing star), but it seems it will soon be remodeled.

Horrible service well below par customer service! I was double charged for three nights and I never stayed a single night at Holiday Inn Express in Downers Grove, IL. My first room was dirty and my second room was disgusting. Someone left bodily fluids
to put it nicely on the bed and floor!!! There was hair all over my pillows and sheets and the tub had mold in it. Housekeeping obviously doesn t clean well which would explain the yellow crusty towel left by the hotel that they expected me to use. When I went to the front desk to complain I was asked to escort the manager to the room to show him even though I provided photos. When I refused and asked to be checked out the the manager raised his voice and insisted I escort him to the room, as if I was his child. I immediately left and requested that my reservation be canceled and checked out, neither was done. My bank account which I did not authorize deductions from, was overdrawn and I made more than 20 calls over a weeks time and still no resolve! You couldn t pay me to deal with this company. Highly unprofessional, poor customer service and cleanliness is a huge concern, so much so I should contact the health department. I would if I felt it would make a difference. Shameful!!!!

Beautiful hotel with river facing rooms. Sterling may not have as many such nice places. Friendliest staff!

I am very impressed with the Management of this Hotel. From the excellent greetings, the welcome snacks, or the notes and placards throughout, all of it points to a smart and caring Manager who aspires to be excellent.

I am going to make sure my future stays are at this Hotel.

The lady that checked me in ( I hate I forgot her name ) was very friendly as a matter of fact everyone was very friendly however the room was very large but it had a slight musty odor other than that I would definitely come back again

We enjoyed our stay. The only problem was there was a wedding reception or something related to the wedding right under our window, and they kept the noise up so long that finally I had to ask the night auditor to please have them keep it down.

Dirty hotel, bad smell, dirty bed sheets, hotel didn't change sheets between new guests, the worst hotel I've stayed in my life, never again. If you were thinking to book this hotel, forget it. I normally didn't write reviews, but I need to advise other people about this bad hotel.

Room was OK. About 30 minutes outside the city with traffic.

I stayed for 4 days and housekeeping is the worst! They never even change toilet paper and bedding coffee makers was not working front desk not good. for that reason I never ever stayed in this place again never bad customer service !

I was wary of the negative reviews I've read here, but I had an excellent experience at this hotel. The room and common areas were all extremely clean, the free breakfast options were many by comparison to other continental breakfasts I've seen, and despite the large number of groups that seemed to be at the hotel over the weekend, there was no excess noise at night. Fantastic housekeeping and food & beverage staffs.

Great stay at a hotel 30 minutes away from downtown Chicago. The complimentary breakfast is also plentiful and quite good! Check out the pancake machine which makes fresh hotcakes in less than a minute!

The breakfast was good and they had coffee all day. The rooms were spacious and cleaned daily. Overall a very good hotel.

The staff here was nothing short of stellar. Clean rooms, good breakfast.

Location and service are both great, plenty of restaurants, bars and stores nearby. Rooms are nice and kept up well by the cleaning staff. My room on the second floor was 80+ degrees when I checked in, even though the thermostat was set to 72. If this happens to you, I just turned the heater off and it seemed to settle to normal room temperature.

Dated! Not a typical Holiday Inn Express. So so breakfast, no "hot" food options for vegetarians. Good location, well connected with PACE

Really helpful staff, nice accommodations, including a more than satisfactory breakfast. Checking in was somewhat troublesome, but then again, we have never got a hotel room through Groupon, and they couldn't find the reservation. They did take care of us.

This location is great! All the positive reviews I read are on point! Clean and affordable! The staff is great! Robert at the front desk was super accommodating! I definitely recommend this location for their kind services!

We had a nice room. Asked for a room for 5 people, had one king size bed and one queen pull out couch, had to have the 5th person bring an air mattress. Walls are extremely thin and you can hear a lot. Temperature was good and location was great. Friendly workers.

It was great experience and memorable trip of my parents. They enjoyed alot.

Smelled of cigarette smoke. What really put me off was the sniffling and stuffy nose caused by an air filter that was to small for the ac/heater unit. Very difficult to open a window. Sam at the front desk was awesome though. He deserves 5 stars.

Great customer service and cleaning, could use an update on TV and fridges other than that,had a great stay

Service was good, room was okay. Heater made a terrible clicking sound all night, and the shower was kind of busted. Overall I do not think it was work over 90 dollars for one night.

I was disappointed in the room I had, it wasn't as well kept as it should have been. It was over priced for amenities. I will not be going there again.

Closed - locked up- cars in the parking lot but on duty manager must have been sleeping somewhere . No one answered the phone or door - your info says open.24/7 - granted ot was after midnight but really?

When I asked for a hypoallergenic pillow because our room have feather pillows instead of being given a hypoallergenic pillow I was told where Walmart was located. The shower was slick and did not have any non-slip surface in it. The bathrooms are very small and the whole hotel is in need of being reconditioned. On the positive side the room was clean and the breakfast was pretty good.

Very clean Common areas and room was very nice size. Rate was very good for the Chicago area and only 25 miles from downtown.

I stayed here for training for my company. The room was paid for. Overall the rooms are what you would expect. Everything is clean and they offer a pretty nice breakfast.

My son and I were in town due to our occupation and we stayed at this H.I.E. The manager and his staff are very professional and extremely accommodating to us during our stay. They went far above normal to make our stay as well as I have ever been treated anywhere I have stayed. Our room was perfectly clean and all of our linens were perfect! If I am ever in Downer Grove again I will stay here without question.

Trash on the floor poor maintenance some staff are total tools, over all I wouldn't recommend it and it's the last time I stay in this hotel.

Tabitha was the night employee and she was INSANELY rude. Go to extended stay down the street, they know how to treat guest properly.

A bit of a run down hotel. My first room, the sink had no running water. Then I moved to another room which had a broken clock. However, the front desk and the breakfast area was above par hence the reason for two stars instead of 1 star.

Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Rooms were a nice size. Everything was dated. The hotel lacked in cleanliness (the bed particularly). We asked for the linens to be changed and they offered a different room. I checked the second room, and it was the same as the first. We gathered or belongings and checked out at that point.

Got there late, and left early. Breakfast was good!

The hotel was rather comfortable and it was very close to many stores and restaurants the room was clean and the staff was very kind would definitely stay again.

Very high quality hospitality, you can tell the maids care, may not look super nice but it's nice on the inside and worth the stay! Decent price, great breakfast! Wish there was a hot tub.

Decent room breakfast day one was good on the second day it was not ready

Good location. Lots of restaurants and shopping centres close by. Malls, Wal-Mart, Costco -- all within 10 minutes.

I was worried after reading some of the reviews. However, my room was clean and comfortable. Bathroom was clean. There was a mini fridge and microwave in the room. No real complaints about the room, except that the air conditioner is a bit noisy.

All of the staff I encountered were very nice!

Had a $15 clipboard stolen out of my suitcase by the housekeepers while I went out to eat

Location easy to find and close to my work event. Rooms are very nice. However the carpets in the hallway smell a little bit... Not the worst thing in the world I just think they need a shampooing. Overall very good.

The first room we had the door lock would not open. Went down to get new keys and was given a new room. That room along with others on the third floor looked like the door was pried open a few times. Didn't feel very safe. The whole hotel looks like it needs a remodel, extensive one. The breakfast don't count on it. We saw several guests at a breakfast restaurant across the street after our second morning there. Not the best

Clean, but it does show its age in the accommodations. I was there 5 days and a few of those days I was the only person staying in my area, except for the person they put right next to me that came in at midnight and then turned on tv.
