HORRIBLE customer service. They dropped my cake tasting appointment today.

I booked a cake tasting appointment at Hoffman's TWO months ago for a wedding. The appointment was confirmed via numerous email and phone confirmations and they told me in email that there would be a $30 cake tasting fee. After no mention that I needed to pay it prior to the actual appointment, I received a phone call yesterday that they needed me to pay the cake tasting fee immediately, because a customer standing in front of them wanted my slot. I wasn't able to make the payment right then and told them that I would call them back later, but that I was definitely going to pay. The wedding is being planned for an out-of-town couple that would only be in town one weekend to do all their food tastings, venue visits and cake tastings. So their schedule was carefully blocked off MONTHS in advance. I tried calling numerous times yesterday to pay the tasting fee, but no one picked up the phone. Then I sent them an email asking them to call me.

Linda from Hoffman's called me this morning and tried to work something out, but again, I was driving and unable to make any payments or look at my schedule. I called back later when I got to my desk and asked for Linda, but instead Angie, the girl from the previous day took my call. Angie was EXTREMELY rude and defensive. She said that she needed to drop my appointment because she had a paying customer in front of her. She curtly "apologized" blaming me for not calling back yesterday. Had I known I needed to pay two months ago, I would have happily done so.

Angie demonstrated poor customer service and for that, I will not be doing business with Hoffman's bakery.

Used to love this place, as they were accommodating to requests and always did a good job. Called back recently and was basically lied to regarding their ability to complete an order. I had heard rumors that management/staff (not sure which) was selective in who they were willing to accommodate and even rude at times.

Unfortunately after literally years of looking forward to coming back to this place (after moving away)- what I heard turned out to be true and I was nothing short of disappointed...definitely would not recommend this place nor will I be returning.

Too busy to write Happy Birthday on a $39.00 birthday cake. Those were their words, not mine. I am too busy to bother to patronize this bakery again. They get a big fat zero stars for the lack of service provided.

Amazing cakes, coffee, other baked goods, and lunch sandwiches. All of the staff is wonderful too, as are the owners - Eugenia and her husband. Kirkland misses you!!

Happy Birthday to me, I love Hoffman's. My friends surprised me with this delicious and beautiful cake covered in marzipan for my birthday. I love almond so this really was a great surprise. You can never go wrong with anything from Hoffman's. I also love their fruit tarts, they remind me of the ones I use to make when I worked in the Costco bakery.

Friendly staff, excellent house-made baked goods, and delicious coffee. Convenient spot in downtown Redmond.

Staff at the bakery are rude. Staff yell at children and condescendingly speak to customers. I used to come to this bakery when it was located in Kirkland but after my recent experience, I will never return again. I always felt okay paying a premium at this bakery because of the experience, but I am taking my business elsewhere.

I enjoyed my coffee and pastry, but that is all my experience is limited to. I do look forward to returning meet time I'm back in Redmond!

Very sweet and too much sugar. I was expecting to have the cake and pastries with lower sugar, compare to others.

My wife is a major pastry snob, but we have loved everything we have gotten there. The staff can be a little on the cold side, but the sweets are excellent. They have beautiful cakes on display too!

My wife and I ordered two cakes for our informal wedding reception,our guests and ourselves were really pleased with the quality and presentation.Our guests were asking where they could purchase them,as they were so delicious.I would also recommend the coffee you can drink there.

Anytime we're in the area, we stop by Hoffman's for their delicious pastries and coffee. The friendly and helpful staff is the cherry on top. Try the cinnamon crisp!

This place is overhyped. The atmosphere/ambience is average. The cakes are very sweet. Tried every single one of them and often felt wanting for more. Staff can be friendly or indifferent and a on who couple of times outright racist depending on who you are interacting with that howday and busy they are. After giving this place a good shot for a year, decided to never visit this place again after Sada racist incident. It's sad because I live on the next street and my son loves pastries and tarts for breakfast in the morning s. I prefer Regent bakery which is further away but every cake they make tastes just perfect.

Ordered several birthday cakes over the years. Always excellent cakes, done on time and as requested. Big step up from supermarket made cakes.

We bought slices of each cake to make a cake. We could share the cake with others, and this was a good decision when 2 people need to consume the entire cake

Get all of our cakes (over 10 years!!) from them, including my wedding cake! Cannot go wrong with their Princess Tort cake . Lovely staff and great establishment!

My daughters cake turned out amazing! More than I expected!! Told them exactly what she wanted and they even made it sparkle!!! Thank you!!

Great espresso and good selection of treats. I got a brownie my hubby got the chocolate peanut butter cake slice. Both treats were delicious and high quality. Very rich though, neither of us could finish.

Best bakery in Redmond and they aren't without some heavy competition.

I haven't tried much at Hoffman's and a lot of what I've seen looks awesome. Now I'm a real big fan of cheesecake but... Yeah your cheesecake was not good. I just wish I didn't have a whole cake worth.

Artful and delicious cakes and pastries, amazing for the price.

Two words: Princess Torte. If you like marzipan, and maybe even if you don't, you have to try it here. It's become one of my favorite desserts and I buy one a few times a year for holidays and special occasions. Only giving 4-star because I haven't tried much else here and they're pretty expensive. But I'll keep going here even though they're further away in Redmond now. Well worth it!

Good lunch sandwiches. Good cakes. Hoffman's is an established local business that does both lunch/breakfast, as well as extremely fancy, complex bespoke baking.

For fancy, they're probably the top dog in Redmond.

The chocolate peanut butter bars are so good. Everything I've had from here has been good, but those chocolate peanut butter bars haunt my dreams (and my waistline).

I have ordered many many many cakes from Hoffman's bakery over the past 14 years. For baby showers, dedications, graduations, birthdays and just to enjoy. We have always been very pleased with their decorating skill and the cakes are so moist and delicious. No one in the PNW makes a marzipan cake that compares. They are very talented. The service is always excellent. I love working with Hoffman's!

Nice enough but the desserts are somewhat heavy handed.

Not sure i like this place terribly much. The only frosting they can use is butter cream and that stuff is disgusting.

The cakes are amazing (and probably other menu items are too, but that s all I ve ordered). The Princess Cake was perfect for my mother s birthday, and I was told by those in attendance it was the most delicious cake they d ever eaten.

The cakes we tried were cold and hard. Yhe chocolate croissants were good.

I'm writing this very late but this little bakery is the best ever! I needed to do a gender reveal for my wife last minute and came up with the plan of putting colored frosting in a cupcake. Well I found out that getting a custom cupcake with frosting in the middle same day was impossible. Right before I went to Safeway to try and do it myself I decided to try Hoffman's as a last ditch effort. To my shock the young lady who answered my phone call said "no problem" and "give me 30 mins". I was shocked!! I drove over there asap and was amazed at the work that thy had did in such a short period of time, it was perfect! My wife loved it and I was a hero for the night. I do not recommend trying to get custom bakery done last minute but I do recommend Hoffman's bakery for any and all bakery occasions and needs. 5 out of 5 stars THANK YOU Hoffman's! PS: They also did our wedding cake 5 years earlier and it was incredible!

They make you an anniversary cake so you don't have to freeze your wedding cake. Amazing cake and service

I ordered a tres leches cake for my wife s birthday after being unable to find any in the area after moving here. I don t think they know what tres leches cake is actually like.

Ended up with a normal, overpriced cake. Everyone said it wasn t anything special and it was upsetting since it was for a surprise birthday.

We would have preferred a cheap grocery store cake.

I get various types of cakes not found anywhere else like the Princess Torte. They're fresh and delicious.

Called early today (6/25) and asked to know if they had any cakes available. They told me they had a "messed up" cake that was peach with butter cream and vanilla filling. It wasn't my first option but then again, I didn't have many options, so I tell them I'll take it and swing by at ~6 PM. Lady gives me someone else's "messed up" cake and then has the audacity to charge me full price. I was taken aback. Are you kidding me? I will never go back. I do them the favor of taking this messed up cake off their hands (would have been trashed that night) and then get charged as if I had bought a custom cake? I should have told them to keep the cake and put it somewhere less pleasant. This is definitely not the way to run a business if you're looking to grow your customer base.

Stopped in on a whim. Ended up with a cinnamon crisp and a mocha. Both very tasty for what you'd pay at a Starbucks or any analog. Not a coffee connoisseur, but I was happy with it.

Best cakes on the face of the Earth! The princesstorte is like an actual fluffy little slice of heaven. Their decorations are incredible too!!!

Did you ever look at the pastry in the case and hope that it takes as good as it looks? Just one bite and I couldn't believe the sensational taste. Awesome. They had a few samples and of course they were fabulous. Staff very helpful and friendly. Great place to have a coffee and pastry with a friend.

Edit: Hoffman's manager contacted me after review and mailed me a compunsatory gift card. Happy with how they dealt the situation. We will be definitely going back there cake and coffee.:)

I used to love this bakery as their cakes were Delicious. I ordered their cake on my son's first birthday and the cake was total garbage. It's tasted salty like waaay took salty. I called them 2 days later to give feedback about it and they said u have to come same day with a piece of cake so that we could know for sure like as If I am lying.but the person who I talked too was courteous enough to give me 10$ store credit towards my next order.

I again ordered a cake for my son's 4th birthday and there was a big strand of HAIR in cake. When I called them, they said we will have our owner call you bake and then no one called me about it. I forgot the incident and by mistake ordered cake again and my husband reminded me of the hair incident I mentioned it to person on call again and told them to cancel my already placed ordered. They had no concern for it and sounded totally unapologetic. I paid over 120$ for that cake and what I got was absolutely unacceptable.

Annual trip to hoffmans. Never disappoint. See yall next year! :)

Yummy cakes. Tried their cake of the month and it was delicious.

We bought strawberry mousse cake and it was delicious. They were able to add special sign on a cake right there at a store. We also got 2 cupcakes and those were extremely dry, and frosting was just like eating cold butter, not enjoyable at all. We would go back for cakes, but not cupcakes.

Slice of cake and coffee were good, but sincere customer service has gone down since their days in Kirkland

Food was good but one of the servers was a sarcastic jerk. Maybe that was his schtick but to a customer coming in there for the first time, it left a very poor impression.

This is by far the best bakery anywhere on the Eastside. The carrot cake is a must have!!

They made a good cake for a birthday. Not cloying sweet, just right.
