Our visit was by far rated poor. And it started the moment we walked in the door. We were not welcomed by any means. More like herded to a dark corner. By whom looked to be dressed like a manager. Our waitress came over seeming irritated that we were there, I assumed it was because she was also the bartender and we were seated in the restaurant side, we had a small child with us. We looked to be the only people in the restaurant. Very short, impatient, and not seeming willing to accommodate any menu changes.... french frys instead of a dry flavorless pasta side, for example. The Fishermans platter was by no means a Platter, unless referring to the amount of grease soaked into the leaf of lettuce placed under my tiny 2 pieces of fish. Very overpriced as well. When paying our bill we needed it split between 2 people and part being Cash she did not bring back the remaining change, assuming it was automatically her tip. Not recommended and never going back

Running one bartender & one cocktail server with a FULL bar . . . all while the clueless MOD tries to look busy? Your labor % may be good, my man, but service suffers. This coming from a former Newport Bay FOH manager. Pull your head out and get a clue - you could learn from your store up north (Portland Seafood Co). Beyond disappointed. :-(

Very clean reatuarant. Bathrooms smell and look great, unlike most men bathrooms this one smells clean. Great job on the cleaning! Food is great.

Good seafood place. If you don't like fish, don't come here. But, it you like fish, then this is the place to go. Good food. Fresh. My sister loves this place so we come here about once per month.

It is kind of like a Red Lobster, but with much better fish. Had the Steelhead and must say it was pretty darn good. And I take my fish pretty serious. Would go back for sure. Halibut, Coho, Steelhead, Dungeness Crab, Oysters, Prawns, etc.

Food was excellent! Seafood Cobb Salad is my favorite. Great meal for the price.

Had a disappointing experience at my first visit here last night. The manager was not friendly, though the hostess was. When the manager seated me he was not friendly or inviting. My meal arrived and the fish was raw. I had to find someone to let them know and five minutes later the server came and asked how the food was. I had to then again say that the fish was raw so with an apology she took the plate. Roughly 10 minutes later the manager brought my plate where they didn't do a new order but recooked the one I had, which included charred areas. He was very quick to drop it off, a short apology and was gone. Because we were on a specific time schedule, I was not able to finish my meal. The two I was with had already finished theirs mostly before my meal was returned. When my bill arrived there was no reduction in the price or an offer to do so. Poor service to clients all around.

I am here now and I had a bacon cheddar and Swiss burger. For dessert I had the Heath bar browny Sunday with vanilla ice cream. My friends had the warm Ginger Peach Crisp. Let me tell you, everything here was PERFECT! I WILL BE BACK! Recommending this place for special occasions! Plus the service is SOOO wonderful. I love it!

We go to this restaurant every time we visit Salem. The family love the oyster shots!

3.5 stars. Friendly service and nice atmosphere. Decent portions but could work on a little more flavor.

The Fish n Chips was so good, I thought I was back in England

Considering we are an hour and a half away from the nearest fresh seafood I give them a thumbs-up I have never had a bad meal here

The waitress made the evening very enjoyable for our large group. We had 16 hungry men and she handled it like a pro. The food was good too.

I always have the crab sandwich and really enjoy it . Today it was made with king crab instead of Dungeness and was not good at all. It had no flavor. Our waitress was fantastic and very friendly.

The bartender Casey greeted me in a timely manner when I walked in. He asked me several times if I needed anything while I had dinner. The service and food was great, thank you.

I ordered the halibut and it was great. Service was very attentive to our needs We ordered one dessert and the 3 of us split it wow was it great.

The halibut fish and chips was delicious! And the strawberry margaritas weren't too bad either!

Great place to meet friends and visit as long as you like. Best salmon I've had and prompt friendly service!

Wonderful and delicious! I was very pleased. The server KC, recommended several dishes and we picked two and were very, very pleased. Wonderful, friendly service, great, fresh food!!! We were traveling through the area to visit family and will defiantly be back . Enjoy!!!

Food is over priced and service VERY SLOW, tasted ok, definitely not worth the money. If every menu item was dropped down $5 I'd say I may go back..maybe

Great natural seafood from local coastal vendors. They also have good prepared seafood to go.

The service was slow and the place was empty. We ordered the crab legs and they were dry and the butter tasted stale. We were also not told that they charge after your first refill on drinks. We will not be returning. They are ridiculously over priced for the quality of food. I could have had a better dinner at Red Lobster.

No soup or salad with meal...was very disappointed.

The hamburgers are good but the fries are terrific
I liked this place. very casual, very relaxed and all about the hamburger. I also liked the fries that had the crisp edge I like on fries. As good of a burger and fry as I have had in a long time.

Bad customer service.Did not care much about the food. Got some certificate in a fundraiser .I don't see they value their customers.

Love the food here, the stuffed salmon is amazing. Could use a better tap list, but every thing we have get eaten here is amazing.

I love this place! The dark wood paneling and decorations gives a atmosphere of a high end seafood restaurant. Highly recommend their happy hour, great eats at an affordable price.

Had dinner her recently and the food was amazing! By far the best seafood dish I have had in a long time. I ordered the Parmesan Crusted Halibut. I am a big time foodie and I am not exaggerating when I say that this dish was impeccable. The halibut was perfectly cooked and served on a bed of Basmati rice, superb brussels and a lemon pesto sauce that pulled the whole dish together. I highly recommend this restaurant, this dish and the service! It has a very quiet atmosphere which is so refreshing from all the noisy restaurants out there. I will be going back for that halibut! My mouth is watering!!!

Had a great dinner salad and the halibut fish and chips. The halibut was a little greasy for my taste but overall was still a good meal. Would go again just to try more seafood!

Oh god the Christmas music in November was maddening!
I was here for work and heard this place was good so I went. Ordered what they call a shrimp cocktail but it was like baby shrimp with lettuce and cocktail sauce. Apparently what they call shrimp in Texas is called Prawns here and shrimp are like fetuses basically.
Overpriced for the minuscule portions of food served. And the Christmas music.......

Food was not as good as usual. Service lacked. Not a good visit.

We came for lunch and found the seafood fantastic and the lunch special was a large portion with a fantastic salad!

Love Newport Seafood & Grill for both happy hour and dinner. Casey, the bar tender, is great and always provides excellent service when we come in for happy hour and Keegan is an amazing server when we come dine-in for dinner. Restaurant is super clean, food is excellent, atmosphere is quiet and relaxing, service is great. We never leave disappointed.

Excellent service, tasty food, generous servings. Great stop whenever we're in Salem.
