Wide range of stock, helpful staff and decent prices.
Excellent prices and CDs that in Italy would be nowhere to be found
Go in and buy if you are looking for big name or back catalog, Go to Rough Trade if you are looking for a rare, indie artists production.
Staff watch customers like a hawk. I suppose they get a lot of shoplifters, but they could be more subtle
You will find almost everything you are looking for!
Extremely rude arrogant service from a staff checkout guy called joe who was so bitchy and unprofessional lazy even... He couldnt be bothered to assist me in ascertaining about an item which was discontinued.... Amazon online services instead have this.... I was however extreamely appreciative of the floor manager who assisted me and also emperthised with the dreadful service that was so unnecessary....
HMV have a variety of items for everyone music, films, T-shirts and electronic devices. It's a shame all the HMVs in central London are closed, the London flagship store should of stayed open at least.
Vinyl collection now getting bigger!!! always special offers on as well
Indispensable for those who still buy their music great choice cool price on old titles and even on new releases
Wonderful Place for music lovers and cineastes, very helpful staff. By the way this shop was the first HMV Shop opened on 20 July 1921 by the composer and conducter Sir Edward Elgar.
Great place for getting some old school hard copy music. Kinda feel sorry for these places since the online stores have taken over. They do have a small vinyl section which is good.
Great store! Three levels of music, books, television, film, and other products.
Used to shop here all the time in the early 70s as a young GI stationed at one of the American Air Force bases in Suffolk. Loved the atmosphere and selection! Glad to see the old place still rocking along!
The last of its kind. Not the cd selection of even 10 years ago, but be thankful it still exists (for now)...
I love this HMV store. Plenty of dvds especially as this store is large you can literally shop till you drop!
Great if you are into busy noisy stores, but almost everything you you need stocked.
Your standard HMV store, overpriced but classy, but much bigger. Went with a friend in search of some K-Pop music which they unfortunately do not to (not even in the "around the world" section)
It's amazing music and songs store , you get all your need
Lovely. Takes me back to my youth, especially the vinyl section. Long may this shop stay trading!
Staff we're very happy to help e with location of what I needed.
Staff had good knowledge of the shop floor and know where to find what your looking for. Good service.
Excellent choice of products, good customer service given by friendly and helpful staff.
Great to see Hmv still on the highstreet. Amazing selection
Have been coming here for a long time, but always nice music.
Always good to have a CD shop to browse. Pretty well stocked with the occasional surprise special editions too. Hard to find a better stocked video/music media shop in the country.
Visited for a cd signing, and after waiting hours we were told by hmv staff no posed photos with the guests....we were also told by event managers this WAS down to hmv management......not good enough!! They should know a photo is one of the things ppl like to get to remember their meets with the stars.....and it should be left up to the artist themselves to say yes or no......1 star
About the only place i can think of to but pysical media with a decent choice
I use to visit this record shop when young. Prices in the UK are not interesting for people from the continent. And the offer is same.
A huge store of music and videos. Really at the top for anyone looking for things not found.
I go here quite often to buy cd. Good choice, sometimes good discounts and often very nice staff.
This is the issue with big stores, there's too much yet too little going on and a repetition of what you already have in your smaller local store. As a bigger branch based in London you would expect to find things and merch that isn't already available to you back home, it's all the same books, same pop vinyls, same t shirts and in regards to actual dvds I found a few things that where stickered wrong or they tried to get away with charging more because at my local hmv the prices where different. And it's not like stepping into a Disney store where your warmly welcomed or receive a smile as your shopping kind of like the smaller stores where you can have a chat with the staff and they look like actual human beings that are capable of emotions. Small stores are the better siblings of this company, and I feel that to be a bigger store in central London you should stock more diverse products that you can't find in smaller stores because what regular hmv customer wants to go all the way to Oxford street while already in London just to find what you could easily pick up back at home?
Where would we be without places like this?
We would be shopping on the internet, probably. This store is one of a few left after the massive closure of many stores that closed down a few years ago and HMV was in danger of going altogether.
I have spent many. many hours over the years browsing through DVDs (in he past) Blu Rays, CDs and even Vinyl, as well as the many Playstation and PC games for my children. This is far more interesting than searching online. There is much pleasure in scanning the shelves for the creative results of your favourite actors, directors and singers.
We must support places like this, for if they go, we will lose that "human" element of shopping. There is a difference between asking the opinion of sales persons directly and getting their verbal ad non-verbal reactions to products that you are considering to buy. This is preferable to online product reviews to me.
One suggestion to HMV - PLEASE DO NOT DISPLAY BLU RAYS AND DVDS ON THE SAME SHELF.
A reasonable selection of vinyl but no 7" unfortunately
Proper record shop, old school and the last of its kind....
Decent selection now back at the heart of Oxford St.
an English FNAC with the essentials in CD, DVD, VINYLES and musical books!
Fantastico.. ci sono vinili, dvd, cd di tutti i film e serie tv esistenti! Unica pecca: locale piccolo!
Wonderful! there are vinyl, DVDs and cos of all the existent movies and tv series... only defect: it's to small
Even during Boxing Day the best place to get great offers for DVDs, Blu-rays and CDs with an amazing selection over several floors. I especially fell in love with the big shelf completely dedicated to superhero movies. There's also a lot of Merchandise and a variety of Comics. My favorite store in London!
Great staff, lots of choice and value for money on weekly specials. Hope this doesn't disappear from the street any time soon.
Badly laid out store, difficult to find what you're looking for and staff who aren't interested in helping out
Great collection! One of the landmarks on the Oxford Street.
Ok but difficult to find what I wanted and service was indifferent
Not many music stores around, this one does the job!
Good for games and if anyone still buys CD's you will find them along with DVD's here.
A pity there is so few stores around I still like my dvds
Busy busy busy well organised though shame they are all closing
I was so lucky to buy one of last two vinyls of Aretha Franklin after her death.
In 1962 it played a significant role in the career of the Beatles.
Amazing store with great gifts and a huge selection of music and film.
The staff here are friendly and very helpful
Great store! You can find anything and prices are reasonable. However lot of dvd are only in english and without french subtitles. It's a shame !
Would love to have that business in Denmark. A mecca for music and movie lovers.
Wonderful store! Many geek articles, old CDs, t-shirts, mugs ... a good place for gifts.
Great staff was stuck for a birthday present , VERY HELPFUL
The one of a kind shop chain. Lots of CDs, DVDs, and an incredible selection of vinyl!
