Decent hotel, good service but exceedingly expensive.
Decent hotel, good service but exceedingly expensive.
Ideally placed for the airport and NEC and easy to get to as it's just off the M6. It's a good hotel with friendly, helpful and attentive staff and excellent facilities including a health club with a decent sized swimming pool although it's a bit warm if you plan on a serious swim but that does make it better for the kids to play in.
Very nice hotel, good decor and good for professional events and talks
The room I was staying in was outdated and smelled cigarettes. Bathroom clean although bath seen better days. Service at reception with smile but slightly pretentious.
Convenient for NEC, but food and drink very expensive.
Always a lovely greeting from the very friendly staff..visited for a number of years and staff always remember us.hotel due for an update later in year so looking forward to our next visit.
Easy to get to, great hosts, liked the courtesy bus to take me back to my hotel
Great convention hotel, very easy to get to from all over the UK. Pricey on food and drink and quality varies. The Airport next door has places to visit though.
Bedrooms are high standard, very clean and comfortable however the TV selection is very poor, it has an HDMI port but no way to access it. Hotel gets very hot so make sure your air con works in your room!
The only thing that let things down was the wifi was poor the lighting in the room was very poor and the toilet was not flushing properly otherwise brilliant service staff were amazing
Despite being a massive hotel, which caters for a large number of guests, the check-in was smooth and the allocated room clean and comfortable. However, unable to adjust the room temperature above 15 degrees centigrade, so it did feel a bit chilly. Also, it would have been a good idea to allocate additional bar staff to cope with the large numbers.
I like it very much.hope soon again.i remember the time.I mean checking out and in.
Good room. Good location to NEC. Service on check-in was quick.
Excellent customer relations, comfortable bedrooms however didn't have the same feel as it used to. E.g. tea urns that don't stop pouring, men's loos that keep overflowing etc.
Nice hotel but somewhat old fashioned rooms. Breakfast fab and a decent spa/swimming pool
Excellent location for the NEC
friendly service
Helpful staff
Nice executive lounge with lovely views
Rooms are small but functional
Quick responses your needs
Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms small and smell of mould. Walls paper thin so hear everything. Shower has pressure of hose pipe.
Good hotel but needs a internal bathrooms refit as the are a bit dated going but other hotels I have stayed in.
I was a bit disappointed by this hotel - it just didn't feel like a luxury experience on the service side. I felt I spent too much of my stay queuing - queuing to check-in, queuing for a lift, queuing to be served dinner, at all the bars (for literally ages and ages and not just on one occasion), queuing to sit down at breakfast, queuing to get breakfast and finally queuing to check-out when at least there was a fast option, but only if you had paid as you went along and have nothing to settle-up. The car parking was a joke - we paid for 24h parking but couldn't park and were told to park on double yellows or on the grass or anywhere.
But the hotel has no reason to improve as it's so convenient for the NEC so I doubt my review will worry them much!
Friendly staff & breakfast has improved dramatically since our previous visits. Rooms can be a bit echoy and check out can take ages. Overall a good experience & always go back due to convenient location & great bar but not sure you're really getting the luxury experience you'd expect from the brand name & premium price that you're paying.
I have a strange relationship with this place. The rooms are great. Comfortable beds and comfortable temperature. The breakfast is great and the service during breakfast is excellent (and the place is very busy when I'm here).
Of course it has it's downsides, it's expensive and showing its age in comparison to the hotels built recently. However it still has the best event space.
Worse hotel I have ever stayed in not cheap , staff rude , totally messed our booking up even though we had E mail conformation and after a hour at check in eventually gave us a room AVOID AVOID AVOID !!!!!!!!!!!
Excellent hotel stayed several times always very comfortable, great location for NEC breakfast is great.
Great location if you want to visit the arena or the NEC, staff are very nice and the entrance to the hotel and public areas are show stopping but that is where the positivity stops. The hotel is tired and in need of some TLC, the rooms were in need of a revamp, the windows did not shut properly so there was a whistling noise come from them at night, tiles broken in the bathroom, t.v. on its last legs, bed moves around the room with little force, some of the lighting did not work, last guests hair band left on the temperature control knob of the shower. Not sure it is fair when you are stuck out in the middle of nowhere that you have to pay 12.00 for parking when you are paying 200.00 for a room and no other choices to park. It is a real shame but this venue does not live up to the hilton brand.
Overcrowded. Several lifts out of order needs an revamp to put faults right. Also booking service for a block booking badly organised.
I would never go here given a choice. The staff are great, but Hilton just gouges you at every opportunity, and it leaves a bad taste. Common areas are stuffy, rooms have no air con. At least all the toilets are working this year.
Lovely hotel, great staff but lousy, virtually non existent vegan options. In a comprehensive bar menu there was a solitary option (superfood salad - yawn). Yesterday there was a veggie/vegan burger in the lobby but the bread roll wasn't vegan. It's a good job I bought a ton of food or I'd have been very hungry. Management should really wake up to the vegan explosion happening, literally, all around them.
Really bad experience. Apart from the friendly staff and the accepable food all the rest were horrible. The window in the room couldn't be properly shut and the room was freezing, the air conditioning was a disaster and the desk lamp was broken... nobody cares!
No mini bar, the beds have weels and keep moving, old cupboards and the amenities were really basic like you stay in a hostel.
This place is beautiful from the outside and the bar and reception look amazing too. However, some of the lifts were off and the rooms decor was really dated. They could do with modernising the rooms and sorting out the lifts. The food was lovely and the staff were nice enough.
Attended convention here and was very impressed with size and facilities
I'm a regular guest at the hotel, facilities are good with the gym and the pool (including sauna and steam room). The rooms are good with great beds and lovely bathrooms and the staff are always so helpful. Would absolutely recommend this hotel
Huge hotel with plenty conference rooms and facilities plus ample parking
Room was ok, last time I stayed there a month ago the iron sparked and burned out, this time the iron tripped the fuse to the wall plugs.
Very nice hotel to stay although bar prices quite expensive
Great hotel I was down from glasgow workin in airport so very handy
Visited for work conference and the food was excellent.
Purchased two whiskies, nearly fainted when told the price. Total rip off.
A wonderful & magical experience, just what I needed after a couple of stressful weeks at work. Thank you Living Well team, I've not relaxed like this in a long time. I would definitely recommend you to family & friends.
The staff are very helpful and check in was swift, the room was nicely decorated, the only down side was the comfort of the bed, the pillows were so uncomfortable and the bed was like sleeping on a solid oak panel
Great location for corporate events. Very large and conveniently located near Birmingham International.
We booked this hotel thinking there would be a level of luxury above and beyond however this was unfortunately not the case we were looked down apon from the moment we entered by both staff and patrons. There was a women's freemasons there and every one of them looked at us with contempt all in all not best pleased
I hate to give a bad review, but to me this hotel truly was the pits. The joke of all this is the term Hilton honours the brand of their loyalty scheme, there is absolutely no honour in this hotel.
Let s start with the bath, green limescale surrounded the plughole. Then there was the broken aircon, this was not individual treatment, almost everyone I knew in the twin bed rooms had the same problem. Thank goodness there was another bed that s duvet I can steal, I d hate to even think what this room was like in winter. The WiFi was abysmal, it did not even have the power to trigger an alert, which meant I spent two days draining my data allowance. The tv was just diabolical, seriously watch the attached video tell me how annoying that is.
It s pointless making a complaint, there is nowhere for you to go the hotel is full! The benefit and f being near the NEC is that for Hilton it s an opportunity to mug every person that stays there.
Breakfast was a mixed experience, day one the scrambled egg was just like cous cous, falling between the prongs of the fork. This was at 6.30am so realistically the egg should be nothing less than perfect, not small tiny and beady. Day two the breakfast was perfect.
The hotel is an aged beast, when you look at it from the NEC or Genting crown complex you might be persuaded to believe its some sort of military prison, brandished with the Corona logo on the outside of what I think was the swimming pool. Clearly threatened by the beautiful other accommodation that surrounds, Hilton are attempting some sort of refurb. Please avoid the new delux room, nothing like a toilet in your actual room to make life romantic, or a shower you have to get out onto the carpet to deal with the door. In case your wondering I ve not got my stories confused here, others should me their laughable refurbed rooms. The architect of which clearly was sentenced to spend time at this military prison as punishment, for what I can only regard as a very serious crime.
There was a couple of conventions going on meaning the hotel was quite busy, imagine then taking out two of the lifts, one of which had an individual stuck in for a whole hour.
If considering attending the NEC give serious thought to what side of the pond you stay on. One final note, if you are forced to stay here I hope you enjoy aldente vegetables.
I ve added pictures of the out of order lifts and the tv viewing situation.
Lovely food but rooms abit battered . Could do with lick of paint . We enjoyed it. Very expensive to eat and drink but just enjoy the experience .
Food not good wifi not good my card to my room not working
We had a lovely stay here. Because I'd paid extra when booking for a standby upgrade we got a huge suite for the three of us. Ok so the decor and furniture is in need of a refurb but this was overlooked by the 2 separate rooms, 2 bathrooms, balcony, huge bath and coffee machine. We also had access to the executive lounge for a free breakfast the next morning. We used the swimming pool which was great and brilliant that they cordoned off a section for lane swimming.
I'm not sure whether it comes with the package of having the suite but we got complimentary drinks and snacks between 6-8. Unfortunately we had to eat them in one of the dingy, windowless conference rooms as children are not allowed on the bar...but really this was not a massive issue.
I'd definitely stay here again. It was so convenient for the Bear Grylls adventure at the NEC.
Staff were all really pleasant too.
A nice hotel in a good location, good food and service with friendly staff.
Lots of amenities nearby with the NEC close by and the airport.
Lovely room to stay overnight and great conference venue
Rooms are of a decent size, but is showing their age with wear on quite a few places. The rooms are however clean and the housekeeping did a good job each day of my stay here.
The TV was of an OK size and quality, but the input was still analogue and with no option to make use of the HDMI port in the rear of the TV. Front desk staff had no idea how to use it either.
Breakfast is very good with a good selection of warm food, cold cuts and a large selection of fruits as well as options for fresh waffles and pancakes.
Food in the bar is pricey for what you get compared to what is available for a short walk to the Resorts World, but is of an OK quality when you've arrived from travels.
Location is within a short walking distance of both the NEC and the Resorts World shopping/dining area.
The airport is located just a walk and a shuttleride away through the NEC and the train station. People at my event had seen travellers be bag checked at the NEC so if you are planning to take the walk to the airport either make allowance for that, or book the free shuttle from the hotel.
I attended an event at the hotel and the hotel staff were always nice and friendly to all the attendees I saw, and the way the hotel not only hosts but supports the hotel seems very good.
Expensive for the small room I had. But nice big hotel. Clean room. Good night's sleep
Close to the airport. Nice rooms, albeit mine was in the old wing and had a terribly low ceiling. Pretty good overall, though.
Really negative experience at the spa resort, was told me and my boyfriend would be in the sane room having treatment then they put us in single rooms, we paid for refreshments but we're not given any. Got intouch with management and had a poor response. Will not visit again!
Lovely hotel really friendly staff nice and clean too
Nice hotel - typical Hilton. Very big but plenty of facilities. Very comfortable bed.
Large hotel set up for the business market as next to NEC. Good food available and like drinks at hotel prices. Rooms were well laid out and comfortable.
Top quality hotel outstanding service from friendly helpful staff make a stay here an experience to be remembered
Service was great food was lovely room was as expected No negatives at all
Nice rest after visiting the NEC, pleasant lounge with bar meals on spec, before a jacuzzi in the spa and a busy evening
Very poor check in, did not smile or even make eye contact. Had to phone down and ask about breakfast and Wi-Fi. Room seen better days. Heating didn't work, although they did fix it. Check out poor they said my card wasn't working when they had made an error which is now sorted, but embarrassing at the time. Wouldn't go back ... overpriced.
Very convenient for NEC but place is looking shabby, bedroom walls are very thin and bathroom dated! Breakfast is ok but cooked food dry...
Typical conference hotel
Long corridors executive style rooms. All you need. Lots of corporate events. Helpful staff.
Ps magnetised keys often don't work. Long walk back to reception. Get another one before you go out.
Lovely hotel, the staff really make the hotel, nothing is to much trouble
Hotel was very good and food in restaurant was fantastic.... however the reception had no knowledge of my booking which led a delay in getting a room... thankfully they sorted it out.
