Extremely poor customer service. We had previously had a really bad stay at the Metropol and so I called the hotel to let know we were giving it another shot as our event was a 30 second walk from the hotel. From our last stay we were heavily compensated for the appalling room and service.

When we arrived I checked in and a women called Fatima was whispering and looking at us, she came across and asked if we had stayed here before? I explained we had and what awful service it was. The only reason we returned was because of the wedding we were attending. She gave me her card and said everything would be fine.

We got to the room and artificially everything looked ok. Until we went for a shower, the shower leaked everywhere as the drain was not draining water. It was all over the bathroom floor. I called down to report this, and thought it was a joke. We went out for the pre-wedding party. We returned and found the towels we laid down to have been kicked to the side and huge black shoe marks on the floor.

I called again in the morning to report this. The women on the phone said it was fixed and insinuated I was making it up. She asked if we could stay in till 5 o clock to wait for a room to be free. We had a wedding to go to and I explained that was not feasible. But they could move our things when we were out. They did not want to do this so we assumed we were staying in the room.

The next morning we went for a shower and again the shower was not draining. It was so bad I did not shower as the whole bathroom floor was flooding. My partner and I couldn t even brush our teeth that s how wet it was. The water started seeping out into the bedroom behind the shower. I was not impressed at all.

We went down to check out and I showed the member of staff the photos and he said we were told the shower was broken and we should not use it. This was a lie as we had never been told that. He shrugged his shoulder and didn t know what to say. I asked to speak to Fatima and waited 45 minutes to speak to her. She never showed up. We brushed our teeth in the toilets in reception.

I called the hotel the next day and spoke to the rudest women alive. Anita slammed the phone down on me and spoke to me like I was a piece of dirt. Still not heard from Fatima who said she would treat us like VIP s. Laughable.

It was a mixed bag. Not the best Hilton we've been to wall paper torn on second floor, three water leaks in lobby that never went away. But they offered us entry into their Executive Lounge which had free food and free alcohol which was very nic, but it wasn't air conditioned so it was muggy and hot. Our room was a little too small to walk around the pullout couch, but otherwise nice. The fitness front desk staff were very rude and sarcastic, not appreciated when we were on vacation and just trying to relax. But all the other staff were great.

We attended this hotel for our Christmas conference for work and the food that we received in the restaurant for our works do wasn t great and I m pregnant and couldn t eat it,, so I went to reception to ask if I could order a McDonald s to be delivered the guy at reception was amazing he helped me all the way and asked the pub area to cook me plain burger with cheese and nothing was to much trouble for them
His name was HAMMID trainee at reception and he should not be a trainee but a super star for your company thank u so much

Me and my family had such a terrible experience, cannot believe we were staying in Hilton. The spa staff were terrible. We logged a complaint and it has been nearly 2months now and it has not been resolved! Such bad customer service!

Even when bar discounts have been agreed in advance the staff might randomly decide not to honour them so if you can bring your own booze do because it's expensive even for a hotel. Otherwise it's a good place.

[Edit] I've been back again and this place gets worse and worse. Nowhere near enough staff; after six hours bedding hadn't been replaced and so I had to complain at midnight by going back to reception (no one answering the phones) only to be told they had no more foam pillows. Food sent back because it was cold. Carpets worn and bed uncomfortable. If you want to offer a budget service don't charge premium. This is a shadow of the hotel it was even six months ago.

I have made numerous visits here for conferences and I would say it does the job. Good staff, equally good facilities. Not too far to walk between room's. Booze is expensive so be warned.

Lovely hotel, very welcoming and in a convenient location, food was delicious , bed is comfy and bathroom always clean , i enjoyed a lovely hot bath and slept like a baby, would definatly stay here again in the future

Reading some of the negative reviews I was apprehensive of staying in this Hotel, how wrong was I !



All the staff were really friendly and helpful and made you feel very welcome, the Twin room I was staying in was of a good size and nicely decorated. The single beds were comfortable (if a bit small) and the linen was clean and fresh. Bathroom was spotless with fresh towels etc.



Breakfast time and again all the staff very helpful and polite, amazing selection of tasty food hot and cold.

Check out was swift and easy, Hotel invoice was e-mailed to me and was all correct. Again staff very helpful and pleasant.

I`m not sure if any of the staff read the reviews that are left on here but I would like to thank them all for making my stay very pleasant, I for one would definitely return to stay again !

Ok looking hotel but very unhappy with the service...

Ok looking hotel but very unhappy with the service. Never left a hotel feeling so frustrated. Stayed for 2 nights. Started bad at check-in and got worse from there. Was just glad to check out to be honest. Never managed to get a meal the 2 nights I stayed. Would definitely not go back. Ever.

Was there for my companies Xmas party and the staff were so friendly and helpful but best of all they were only there when you needed them and when you didn't they were invisible almost. The room was lovely and there was no distractions the facilities in the room were exactly what was needed Was a great night and would recommend anyone stay there

It s about a ten minute walk from one of the main ...

It s about a ten minute walk from one of the main NEC halls to this hotel, part of which is though a fairly nice woodland walkway to give some respite from the bustle of a conference. So there are closer options but my single night s stay wasn t too bad and was worth the walk. From the outside it looks a little shabby but internally it s more reassuring, although still not overly modern. Reception staff were really helpful although the main lobby area is a long walk from where I entered, only to be told to return all the way back for access to my floor - it really is a deceptively large building!

My room was on the second floor with a minimal view but was surprisingly comfortable, however clearly designed for a single guest. The bed was in the corner of the room, surrounded by wooden walls, feeling more like a caravan than a hotel. There were electric plugs on the walls, which was handy, although ended up with the devices being in the bed with you rather than on any form of bedside table. There was a desk area which was an adequate size and a wardrobe which had a fair amount of storage space. What was disappointing was the TV, which had terrible picture quality. The mini bar remained empty but there was some nice reading material about Birmingham and the local area.

The bathroom didn t have a door, again suggesting I had a single person s room, but was actually decent. The shower area was large, clean and had decent power with nice toiletries and there was enough space around the sink area along with lots of towels. This was in fact the most modern aspect of the room and was a pleasant space.

The bed gave a decent night s sleep and there was minimal noise from outside until the morning housekeeping service began, at which point banging of doors in the corridor commenced, along with my room being entered despite the do not disturb sign being displayed. Given that the bathroom has no door this could have been more embarrassing! However they clearly do a good job, since the room seemed spotlessly clean, especially the bathroom.

Check out was a breeze, once you d made the long walk back to the reception desk! Overall a comfortable stay and the room itself was adequate for a business style stop over. If you re loyal to the brand it d do fine and the location will get it on my shortlist again, although I m not sure the price premium offers much more than the alternatives for a single work related stay.

Horrendous. Sullen slow reception. No interaction or information it was like pulling teeth. Corridor outside bedroom on first floor smelt of mould. Hidden car parking charge when booking. Awful experience. NEVER AGAIN. AVOID IF POSSIBLE

I had a great stay a the Hilton. I did had an older room that should be renewed but i have seen the newer rooms also. It's a big hotel with over 700 rooms. The staff is great. They all smile and love to help you. Just 10 min ago a girl called "Rima" Just de picked-up her personal phone charger to help me out.!! for that they deserve a 5 star review! Thanks Rima.

us as it was our 15th Wedding

Disappointed. Good points; Convenient for conferen...

Disappointed. Good points; Convenient for conference and Staff very helpful and friendly. Bad points; Small dated average condition room for high price. Very hard uncomfortable lumpy bed so 2 nights with little sleep. Location a bit noisy and room too warm but temp control made no difference. Have enjoyed other Hilton hotel stays so would expect much better for this price.

Staff are extremely helpful and nothing is to much trouble for them, we stayed in a king junior suit room was extremely clean and spacious only downside not many tv channels on the TV's and it wasn't a HD tv.
