Hilton Metropole Birmingham**** Review

Large hotel perfectly situated if your working or visiting the NEC.

Rooms are clean but a bit dated. Has a large pool, gym, Jacuzzi which open early.



The feel of the place is pretty soulless but after the case in large hotels like this.

Parking onsite which is chargeable and paid on departure. Hotel has free WiFi.

Breakfast great, staff frendly. Very helpful thanks guys.

Excellent location for the NEC. Very clean with helpful staff. They will even allow dogs to stay while Crufts was on. You won't be disappointed

Good customer service, clean rooms, the only gripe is its pretty expensive.

Stayed in room 403 for the UK AD & Biogas Exhibition. Nice bathroom but the room looked a bit dated. TV on the wall mount was wonky and the bed was on wheels though all in all a decent room. The main thing I realised I was missing was hotel information as the only booklet/guide was the "In-Room Dining" menu.

Health/wellness suit was sufficient for me though it was busy. Breakfast was one of the best I've had a Hilton hotel in the UK.

Superb hotel and love the Cfz convention. Cannot wait for next year after this one was cancelled. Always very polite staff and wonderful clean rooms we find.

The hotel is above average- the room I had was small but comfortable. Staff were friendly and the pool, whilst slightly crowded due to the children's swimming classes that were going on a while I was there, was still nice.

We absolutely love working here at the Birmingham Hilton Met. They host a huge range of events and are always well organised. We cannot wait for the next event with our Table Centres.

some rooms are too tiny. the lobby C rooms are fine.

Mediocre hotel. Great foyer. Average rooms. Needs refurbishment.

Hotel itself was very clean, comfortable and staff were all well presented and polite although the restaurant staff did hover around people while they were eating and no sooner had you put your cutlery down the plate was gone from under your nose which I thought was quite rude, they should wait while everyone has finished their meal then politely ask if you have finished and clear the table.
We stayed here for a weekend convention (Saturday - Monday) which included room, breakfast & 3 course evening meal.
Breakfast was very good but the evening meal consisted of: 1st course - Salad. Main course - either fish in cheese sauce or lasagne smothered in cheese and this was the same for both nights with the exception of one night it was vegetarian lasagne & next night meat . Not impressed with food at all and wouldn't recommend eating here at all if their was somewhere close by to eat :( also bar staff didn't know what to charge and were just trying to charge what they wanted - 3 times we went to get 2 drinks and each time they tried charging different

Absolutely brilliant hotel all the staff were friendly and professional and made you feel welcome
Great choice of food and drinks to choose from and was all really nice and enjoyed it

Even though I had a confirmed booking for 6 weeks they still seemed surprised when I tried to check in. Took a lot longer that I would have expected due to them having to get the manager to release some rooms. Room were small but had everything you would expect. TV channel choice very limited which was annoying. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were very good.

Service is very good, standard rooms are average, broken bulb (actually smashed in one room) the bar is very expensive. Loads of parking. Can walk to NEC from here in 5 mins.

Ideal for NEC & LG Arena. The twin room was clean & tidy but in need of some redecoration. A little disappointing for a 4 hotel. The staff were lovely & the breakfast excellent. Stayed in May 2014 to attend a concert at the arena less than 10 minutes walk from the hotel.

Basic accommodation, but did the job. Buffet breakfast was good.

Great if you like large impersonal corprate hotels. Parking is expensive. Poor communication between departments.

Stayed here three times for my annual conference at work.
Nice stay, comfortable rooms, single beds was the only downside but lots of bookings, food was amazing completely perfect.
Service was good, great amenities, gym and swimming pool, parking was also vast.

Went there for an office event and stayed for 4 nights. Rooms aren't that great, expected them to be better. Staffs were not very helpful, may have to do with the fact that they were stressed to check in such a large group of people in short amount of time.

Wonderful stay with excellent staff. Our rooms were clean and well maintained our only complaint was the lighting in the rooms as in the wasn t enough light making the rooms appear gloomy. Would highly recommend this hotel.

The air conditioning does not work and they wanted to bring you a fan ?! Is it that they do not check it before putting someone in a room ?! The towels and sheets were dirty. Very very bad in general.

Came here for a conference. Lots of parking and great conference facilities. Very busy but staff helpful

Nice place i came for a work party drinks quite expensive .. nice that you are close to resorts world rougly 10 mins walk so we went over to casino which was fun

Had a great time here, the room was great although not as clean as i would have liked. Had food to my room which was quick and well stocked for what I needed. I left a necklace behind and they posted it to me which was fab since I'm 3h's drive away. Thanks guys

Clean room, friendly staff and all the amenities you could want.

Room was clean but small. The bed was against the wall so you could only get in from one side and there was no door on the ensuite. Glad I wasn't sharing with anyone as I'd have been sharing more than I'd normally expect.

Well setup corporate events venue. Friendly and welcoming staff

The spa reception area is more like a table in the middle of the room. The therapists seem to be aimlessly sitting around with no where to go. However the massage I received was very good and the therapist had been trained very well. I got full use of the facilities and all the staff was very nice.

Great location for nec or airport. Good car parking, restaurant and bar facilities provide excellent service

Stayed for a convention. Booked for 3 nights but only stayed for 2 as had to get home.



Bad bits: Very expensive. Over charged on arrival (18/5/18) and unable to release funds back to my bank straight away. Still not released (21/5/18) Room comfortable and clean but had an issue on arrival with the toilet..... compensated with discount. However not used much due to prices. Breakfast was pretty cold the 1st day but nice and hot the second. Wi-Fi only worked for a day. Finding a car park space if you've nipped out can be tricky.
Didn't get to use the spa/pool but will try on the next convention.

I've stayed in many Hilton properties over the years and this is by far the worse room I've EVER spent the night in. Booked the hotel on points and was given what is basically a dorm room with a pull out twin bed facing loud air conditioners outside. The room is "spacious" 20x7, internet connection is flying at 0.3 Mbps and the toilet is in the same room 3 feet away from the bed. When asked for a different room was told that point reservation entitles me to "LOW CLASS room" Way to treat you DIAMOND members Hilton!!!

Not cheap, but my friend had Executive Priviledges and so everything was free to me!

The hotel was lovely (company Christmas party) . very clean and I found all the staff very friendly and helpful. My room key didn't work and that got sorted quickly .. then the sink in my room blocked so I called to get fixed . The sink blocked again in the morning but didnt report it. the food was excellent . And would recommend this hotel .

Our room was spacious and clean. However, the communal areas of the hotel were cold and the toilets were frequently out of order. The WiFi was also not working throughout the hotel.

There was a better room service food menu than in the restaurant so ordered from room but ended up having to wait 2 1/2hrs for it & it arrived just as we were going to bed. Every time we rang down we were told it was on the way & sorry for the delay and drinks & nibbles would be sent up in the meantime but nothing ever arrived. Manager took over an hour to call back & said it sorry it would be complimentary but after arriving home found we'd been charged in full for it.
Uncomfortable bed, no wifi & poor tv reception.
Lots of staff but no one knew what was going on. A complete shambles & not what we needed after a long day at NEC trade fair. Don't stay here if you're hoping for a nice relaxing evening after a hectic day!

Did not stay in this hotel, was here as a venue for a after convention party. In this respect it was very good, nice and spacious with friendly and helpful staff and the public facilities were kept very nice and clean and to a high standard.

A very large and busy hotel. They are very used to getting large numbers of people moved around this hotel efficiently. As such it left me a bit of an empty feeling. The staff were pleasant with being friendly. My room was a quarter of a mile away from the reception desk and was the smallest room I have ever stayed in at any hotel. It was modern, clean and tidy and as you would expect. The bed, mattress and pillows were plump and comfortable and I had a great nights sleep. Watch yourself on the shower doors though, I got my fingers caught between the handle and the side of the shower cubicle. I wouldn't choose to stay at this hotel in the deluxe rooms or recommend it because of the open bathroom /toilet and problem shower cubicle. Unfortunately because I was running late I used the excess checkout and forgot to tell them about the shower cubicle.

Great venue, food and rooms always lovely. My event has 600+ delegates and the staff always cope really well with service.

Well where to start!
Stay here every year for a convention and every year the prices go up and the quality goes down!
Staff unhelpful and clearly don't communicate between themselves at shift changes.
1 friend had her car stolen from the"secure" car park another had his broken into!
Switched our room allocation 3 times and the third time we were told as way of apology they'd upgraded our room and gave us a lake side view, however the room was a standard room and we looked out onto the swimming pool roof!!
When mentioned this to staff they shrugged their shoulders and walked off.
They ran out of the large pizza base and instead of reducing the price it informing customers they served a pizza half the size, when questioned yet again the waitress shrugged her shoulders and walked off!
Would not recommend this place especially when there's other hotels near by that friends stayed in who said they'd had excellent customer service and paid less money for 2 or 3 nights then what we did for 1 night!

So so mousey in the rooms. Tiny rooms, bathrooms do not have doors, room is dark with very few facilities, no fridge. Not the most helpful of staff.

Hotel very dated and breakfast was like a cattle market.

Room very dated and tired looking. Could do with a refurb. Near airport though so served its purpose.

The executive rooms are very nice, spacious and comfortable. Large comfy bed. Best to avoid the smaller delegate rooms on other part of hotel. Bathrooms do not have doors, maybe to save space but not a great idea

Reception staff were rude on arrival and check in was very slow.
Bar drinks very over priced, poorly presented.
Staff unhelpful, room was dated and not clean.

Although I never stayed I do know from source that it is one of the best ones to stay due to some staff being well mannered and polite meaning linen attendants but the way it,s run could be more organised the management attitudes do matter,for more happy staffx

Good location for nec and that's it. Food expensive and very poor. Service very slow rude and ignorant servers . Rooms very dated tv kept stoped working as well

Amazing hotel. I attend a convention that's held here every year and the staff are superb and happy to help with even the smallest problem

Very warm welcoming staff, nothing was to much trouble for them. My room was spacious and clean. I would recommend the Hilton hotel
