Horrible old hotel. Not very nice. Book elsewhere if possible. I've been fortunate to stay in hotels for over 500 nights so I know my way around one. This is one of the worst. Horrible rooms, smells of smoke.

Rooms very hot - air conditioner wasn t up to scratch. Family room (disabled access) stank of cigarette smoke. Also very rude reception staff who tried to falsely charge us for room service which we hadn t ordered (was resolved but took a long time)

Very disappointed with this hotel. For the fact this is supposed to be a 4 star hotel, I have stayed in nicer 2 star hotels. Rooms were very basic and old, No air conditioning, no fan in the bathroom, and most importantly not well kept.

My biggest issue with our stay was how disgustingly dirty it was. Stains all over the carpets, baseboards haven't been dusted or cleaned in years, and it shows. Dropped something behind the bedside table and absolutely cringed at the dirt. Hair in the Bed, Sink, and chunks of hair in the towels. Couldn't use the pool during our stay as every time we tried it was apparently at full capacity. Glad we booked a hotel with a pool we planned to use......

Breakfast was ok, did have a decent selection but no waffles as displayed on their door menu hangers which was a tad disappointing. Staff were all very nice and friendly, but unfortunately I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Floors are a tad marked and such from use but facilities and sheets and the like all very clean. Great location, helpful and friendly staff and value for money

Looks great and some staff were lovely, but after a charity do, myself and another lady was instructed that the car park entrance to the hotel was closed so we were to walk around the back outside to get into car park down the ramp.. it was 1am and we were in evening dresses... not great customer concern after the fact really!

Disappointing - whilst the room was nice and clean...

Disappointing - whilst the room was nice and clean, the shower was stuck to hot (and I mean HOT) and when speaking to reception staff there was no urgency or even care to resolve it. Breakfast was also disappointing.

Family had a really nice stay. They gave us 2 connected rooms both with sea views. Kids spent an afternoon in the pool and had a very nice breakfast. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Our little daughter enjoyed pretending she was a princess walking down the master staircase. Underground car park for guests is great.

The staff not very helpful. Air Conditioning not working well, TV didn't work all weekend and WiFi very poor. Not what I would expect from the Hilton brand, given the prices they charge.

Booked last minute and unknowingly booked the wrong room type. Didn't realise until I got there after midnight. The front desk attendant was extremely helpful and changed my room without hassle. The breakfast was delicious and there was a great selection of food and the drink while waiting for a table was a nice touch. Would stay again.

The staff in the hotel were great - really helpful. The hotel itself needs a bit of work - more than just a lick of paint. We stayed at the hotel for two nights for a friend's wedding and everything for the wedding was perfect.

When we arrived our first room (426) was right above the huge extractor fans which were loud. Asked to move to another room (no problem from the staff at all). Moved to 603 - no fans here so it was much quieter. Room was fine, the windows were filthy on the outside - due to the size of the hotel it'd be tricky to get to them.

As I said, the room was fine - nothing special. Bed was comfy (if a little creaky) The curtains were too narrow to really block out the sunlight - the dirty windows might have helped this! The room was really quiet - only outside noise I heard was the occasional door closing.

Had breakfast at the hotel twice. Arrived early both days which meant it was really quiet - I'd recommend this. The buffet area isn't huge so I guess it'd get pretty congested. The first morning our cutlery selection consisted of 15 forks, no knives! Had to pinch some from the next table - I'd suggest these cutlery boxes aren't ideal. On day 2 we had about 10 spoons and only a couple of knives and forks. The food was good though and plenty to choose from.

Drinks at the bar are expensive - as you'd expect! On Saturday afternoon there was only one member of staff behind the bar. Just before a wedding on a sunny day this wasn't ideal!

Overall, the hotel is in a great location and the staff were great, but it's overdue a makeover. (The photo is the ceiling outside room 603)

The room (607 king room sea view) was dated and generally run down. The shower drains were disgusting and stunk out the room. Breakfast was good and the staff were friendly. The car park was hell on earth and I had to climb out of window to get out of the car! I have complained to Hilton directly.

The hotel was beautiful. The rooms are nice but ok not as great as the rest of the hotel. Staff are helpful and there is parking available which is useful. The spa facilities bar and restaraunt are great. The room where breakfast is held has a beautiful view.

Went to the bar area for food and drinks. I cannot praise the staff enough in here. I've been a few times and there's never enough staff for amount of customers. But the staff always do a great job. It's sad that such a big company has such few staff to keep up with customers needs. Shouldn't the Hilton care for the customer like the bar staff do?!

Arrived at the hotel and check in was fine, very quick and efficient. However only 2 lifts were working so the wait was around 10 min, I would have walked up the stairs but we were on the 4th floor and had a heavy bag.
Got to the room and i was greeted with some brown mark smeared up the wall. Opened the curtains to check out my sea view. But all you could see was a unwashed window (very dirty)

Ordered room service for breakfast and it was such a bad breakfast the bacon was almost raw and anaemic the croissants were hard around the edges and solid but soft in middle (microwaved??)

However the coffee was warm.

The hotel was very nice inside but only paid it a quick visit as it looked so grand from the outside. I would love to stay here in the future. It's in such a great location too and loads to do within walking distance. What a nice place!

Came here for a business meeting at their facilities. Everything was very good apart from the phone not working in our meeting room. The food service for our lunch was the best part with good variations of things to choose. Something for everyone - vegans vegetarians and gluten free options which was good!

I was staying there just for one night. It is good hotel but my room was either above or close to their air conditioning unit... I could hear a sound from unit that means my sleep was a bit disturbed.

Worst experience at a Hilton hotel!

Myself and my partner are Hilton honour members and have been to Hilton hotels all over the world, and this one was the worst we have ever stayed at.
Our room was extremely dated and not what was shown online to us, the bed squeaked at the tiniest movement, the air con didn t work, the bathroom mirror was smashed and the shower dripped all night long.
We didn t realise that dogs could also stay at this hotel. In the room a few doors from us, there was a dog who barked whenever someone walked past the door... as our door was by the lifts, you can image how frequent the barking was.
Once we checked out of the room in the morning, we spent the rest of the day in Brighton and realised before leaving that evening that we had left a teddy from the sea life centre behind in the room somewhere (we bought it as a gift for someone). Before leaving, we went back to the hotel and asked if it had been handed in which it had not. We then asked if someone could check the room for us and they said it was nowhere to be seen. We knew for sure that the teddy was in the room, which leaves only two conclusions. The first being that it was in the room somewhere and it was not cleaned properly and therefore not found- that would be really disappointing considering the current situation and how important it is to properly clean down the rooms. Or, someone who works for the hotel has taken it, which is just as disappointing.
Obviously we know that it is our fault for leaving the teddy behind, but the point I tried making was what if this was something more valuable or worth more money?
Both myself and my partner emailed the hotel with our issues about our stay as they took so long to respond. The reply was blunt, did not cover all that we mentioned and did not offer any solution. I emailed back to this and 3 weeks later, still have no response.

We were a group of 6 ladies. When checking in at 14.00 2 rooms were available, the 3rd, we were advised would be ready at 16.00.
On our return we were allocated a room on the 3rd floor and were looking forward to settling into our room after having already viewed the other 2 rooms of our friends.
Unfortunately the room was set up for a disabled guest. The bathroom was very shabby, the sink was very low and had no plug. The toilet was very high. We were unable to open the window in both the bathroom and one of the windows in the bedroom and it was a very warm evening.
The wardrobe too was set up for a disabled guest to reach the hanging rail this however resulted in our clothes trailing on the floor.
All in all the room was disappointing and I would never return or recommend the hotel.

We have been to the Metropole Brighton before we spent a night there in June, after having a spa and afternoon tea, the service was excellent, It for being in England tea being our main drink of the day I wasn t impressed with their tea making both at the afternoon tea and breakfast the following day the tea was so weak.
We were so pleased with the spa treatment that I rebooked another one for my husbands birthday, we went as a family and also had the afternoon tea, I made sure they put in extra tea bags this time.

I slept badly due to an Atlantic storm. That can happen, but the curtains didn't close properly, so I couldn't sleep anymore. Furthermore, the shower head may occasionally be descaled during cleaning. As a guest, I don't think I should do that. Furthermore, neat room and nice hotel. And the breakfast was great

One of the worst experience i had at this Hilton. Being a hilton honors member I prefer staying at Hilton for my business / personal trip. It was 12 nights stay but completely waste and not worth it.
Staff not friendly and Extremely rude.
Took 8 hours to fix the issue with the toilet which was not expected at the first place.
Amenities such as kettle in a un usable condition and had to be changed twice.
Duty manager not approachable.
Staff not clear about the hotel policies on using HDMI cable for the in room television.
Would not recommend anyone and wouldn t want to come back again.
The changing room in the gym and the toilet is in terrible state worse than a 2 star hotel.
Doesn t at all give the 4/5 star experience or whatever they call themselves.

Just checked into a room at the Hilton Brighton Metropol, came down for the bank holiday weekend with my partner.....no air conditioning!!! The room is at least 30 degrees. When I called concierge they offered me a fan and a bucket if ice More

The room was dated and in places rusty and noise from the carpark gate which was below our windows kept me up all night, plus I could hear a telephone from my room all evening, I believe either the room behind or a concierge desk as it was going constantly.

The room had little lighting with no central ceiling light and we lost heating for our water on the first day.



There is one redeeming factor of good staff that where helpful as they can be given the covid world we live in.

I cannot recommend this place any less or I would, go to any other hotel on the beachfront, not that I got a sea view from my room anyway.

The rooms are not air conditioned and are baking hot at night, specifically on the 4 floor and higher. I was on the 6th and its unbearable and disturbing. Food is OK and the service is average. Overall a tired and underinvested hotel in a prime location... shame.

Hotel looks nice but the room that I was in was below average, a modern premier in is more comfortable! Couldn t open the windows and no air conditioning so the room was very hot! Not pleasant.
Breakfast was nice and staff were friendly but the room really let this hotel down.
