It was very quiet, we were the only table in the restaurant all night, and there was hardly any people serving either, we needed to look for them to take out order, through the whole meal no one came over and asked us if everything was okay. The food was okay though nothing to shout about. We were disappointed with the ambience and atmosphere.

Rooms not ready by 6pm, broken toilet with workmen invading our room on multiple occasions without knocking, I simply cannot recommend this place to anyone. There are nicer 2 star hotels in Brighton than this.

Nice.

My husband and I stayed in 627 on a Saturday night, which is a standard hotel room. The room itself was really clean, though very small. It consisted of a desk and chair, a wardrobe, bed, 2 bedside cabinets and a unit holding tea and coffee. There was also a space where I think a fridge used to be! The ensuite was a good size and again, very clean.

The view from the room isn't great...just car parks. Though to be honest we didn't stay in the hotel for too long so I wasn't fussed about that. The main bad point for me was the severe lack of water pressure in the shower. It was truly awful. I did also try to pour a bath. After 10 minutes I had a small pool of water...So I gave up and just had a mediocre shower.

On the plus side, the staff were really helpful and friendly.

Room was very tired; carpet was soiled, tap was loose, mirror cracked and some equipment was past the portable appliance test date. Food service in the bar was poor too, taking an hour and a half to get two courses out of them. Breakfast service, in contrast, was much better and well organised.

We were at the Hilton for Brighton Comic Con, and was really quite disappointed.

The front entrance was not being used for the con, which is fine, except there was no signposting other than an A4 pen-drawn note on the door stating to go back round where we came from to enter from what I can only describe as a trade entrance. It wasn't nice.

When inside, the venue was in a baron walled room, with non working lifts and, again, hand drawn maps.

For a building constructed in the late 1800s and facing the onslaught of moist salty winds from Channel, it is quite well maintained and classy. The rooms are big and clean. Of course, some things look and feel a bit dated, but nevertheless, it's charming. They have pretty good procedures in place to ensure social distancing for the covid times we are in. Enjoyed our stay as a family for 4 nights. However, there isn't a lobby to relax with a drink and a book at the end of the day.

Good

Honestly one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed at, in my life. The room was a joke, some old janitors closet they converted into a halfway functional room. Staff could have cared less about the pitiful state of the room, plumbing, etc. Stay far away from this place. Hilton should be ashamed.

Have stayed here a few times now. Its a nice hotel at a very good location (in summers). A bit of a maze when it comes to finding the room after checking in. . Breakfast is really good.

Very tired, hot hotel, awful showers with no power, no biscuits in room and only whole milk provided, nightmare parking and food led a lot to be desired. Unfortunately staff were not very well organised, but that is down to Management and not individual staff, need urgent staff training. I could not recommend this hotel which is very sad. I gave 3 stars because the staff were helpful and did try very hard. They were just ill prepared and not enough of them to adequately serve and deal with large parties or functions 3 people behind the bar to serve 200 odd people, you do the math Chaotic atmosphere, would suggest major refurbishment of the whole hotel and a total rethink on food as not up to the standard of a Hilton Hotel

Exceptional! 50 of us stayed here for a team event and the service and hotel itself couldn't have been better. Super smooth check in - the best we have ever experienced. Exceptionally attentive service from Sascha Koehler the manager and team. Great rooms. Great breakfast. What more could we want?

Staff are very unfriendly, and very unhelpful at this Hotel. They made things very awkward & difficult when trying to change a room booking. And what made this even more frustrating is that they had plenty of rooms available for my requested date. avoid this Hotel if you want a user friends & hassle free stay in brighton.

I am a diamond card holder and am both astounded and appalled at how much this hotel has gone downhill from Once not so long ago being a proud four and five star hotel to now barely passable as a 2 or 3 star hotel. The foyer and reception areas were very tired with extremely dull brown paint everywhere with green stained carpets. There is an overpowering smell of chlorine from the pool area due to lack of and improper maintenance (I have a pool and hydrotherapy spa at home ) which pervades into the reception halls and area the guest bedroom I was in was overlooking the seafront on the third floor, it was extremely tired with broken furniture and chunks out of the dilapidated brown wood surfaces I simply cannot believe that Hilton hotels group would want to put their name to this proud and elegant but now tired old lady.

I'm a little disappointed if I am honest. The room and staff were amazing but the rest of the hotel is really showing signs of age and a lack of investment and reberbishment. I have a certain expectation when it comes to hotels, particularly when I visit a Hilton. This one has all the grandness you would expect in areas like the amazing stairs, but the small attention to detail let's it down.

Toilets need an upgrade, bedroom windows at the back of the hotel need a wash, the front canopy looks a little tiard.

Then we get on to the spa facilities. This area in my opinion needs a lot of investment. Papering over the cracks springs to mind. Changing rooms are tired and not the expected quality. Positives were the poor and steam room. Small fixture and fitting issues but could easily be rectified. Staff were very nice.

On check in our room hadn t been cleaned even though the covid19 clean seal was on the door! Half eaten biscuit on the bedside table, empty bottles of alcohol among other things under the sofa bed my kids were supposed to sleep in. They had to clean the room again but my kids picked up the stuff under the bed and it put us all at risk. They offered to move us to another room but only to find more rubbish behind the sofa bed. They gave us a free soft drink in the bar while we waited but didn t get into our room until 6.15pm!!! My daughter was crying and distressed that she could have caught Covid because the room wasn t clean. Then they took extra money from my account than they should have. No answer to my email complaint also.
Room was too hot. I will never go back.

Housekeeping extremely lacking, both our towels had bunched up hairs (true story, yuck!) and the bathroom needed a serious remodel.
We were in a king premium room, *no sockets next to bed*, a/c not working, heating was off so bathroom was freezing. No hairdryer in sight.
Breakfast was only decent, still only one star rated because they need a new dishwasher, utensils were stained/ dirty and selection for vegetarians was very poor.

Wonderful service that serves as a real benchmark.
The swimming pool, sauna and steam room are just perfect to relax by especially for families with young children.

The rooms are very clean and beds just too comfortable - I didn t want to wake up

Nice hotel, directly opposite the waterfront.
Modern rooms, nice staff, appetizing, rich breakfast. The room, where we were invited to a wedding, was very chic, and was even transformed from the dreamhouse to the feast hall, with dance floor, while the photos were taken. So the whole wedding could be celebrated in the same location! Was great organized !!!

This place is clearly only 4 star based on its name. The interior is shabby, and we'll past it's glory days. A bit of tape holding the stairwell carpet in place could be forgiven, but there are cracks in many ceilings, and chunks of plasterwork missing in the swimming pool. The breakfast selection is excellent, but I shouldn't have had to watch the person on the egg counter fry countless eggs which went in the bin because no one wanted them; remind him that we were waiting for poached eggs; and then remind him to stop cooking them. I was sadly too late, and had to repeat the same process again because they were so overcooked. That young man's poor attitude stood out, even compared with the condescending reception staff when we checked in. The drinks selection in the bar is poor and the food looked too bad to try. Fortunately the location is ideal for eating out.

I stayed at the Hilton during a short break in Brighton and Hove and really enjoyed it. The hotel is in a great location, directly on the seafront and close to many shops and restaurants. As it is a popular place the breakfast room was always crowded, and we had to wait a long time to be seated, so this wasn't ideal. However, the bar was exceptionally good, serving classic cocktails and lovely meals - including fantastic fish and chips - late into the evening.

The breakfast was good but they were short on refills and I got a very sticky table and a lipstick stained cup. The waiters are very friendly

Great location for shows, shopping, etc. The room was comfortable and clean, service was outstanding, very quiet at night in the room, despite it being a very busy weekend. Would definitely recommend, and use again if revisiting Brighton.

A disgrace to the Hilton name. Unhelpful staff, derelict room, no air-conditioning despite unpleasantly hot room, offered tiny, damaged fan, and a bucket of ice as a replacement; the window only opened a small amount (maybe 10 centimetres) which would not have been a problem had the room not been so hot. The corridors seemed more comfortable than the room. The "sea view" consisted of a jungle of vents, cables and pigeon-detering spikes, without so much as a puddle in sight. I would advise against staying here.

They exceeded my expectations and made my stay perfect. The staff were kind and helpful the location is right on the beach front.i told the reception I was happy "I didn't know your gay" I said I'm not and left very sharply as the receptionist smiled at me in my leather pants.

Shabby appearance and obvious very little attention to detail. Grubby revolving entrance doors. Cans and empty bottles of drink left on patio on the floor discarded and not cleared up. Toilets clean but maintenance defects which have not been rectified for a long time obvious on walls near the urinals. Entrance foyer looked dreary and no one at the Conceirge desk. This is not a very good reflection of the Hikton brand and certainly shows there is nothing to reflect the Metropoles past style when it was once the sister hotel to The Dorchester in London.

We had a lovely stay in a truely beautiful hotel with attentive friendly staff. Not sure I'd go for the balcony room in future, although it was quite luxurious the balcony was very small and possibly not much more point than just a sea view room. We were hoping to sit out there of an evening to avoid the Covid world but it was more like just a Juliet balcony. Also the room had a weird draft that didn't seem to come from the windows. All in all had a lovely stay but would probably try a different one of your rooms in future. Thank you
