Conveniently located for Beach an Shops- Stayed here on many occasions, last being October 2018- Iconic view wins a pair of stars alrite I just couldn't ignore that balcony it could go a deepdeep clean! Apart from the first floor, no care was given to the rest of the hotel. We stayed for one night, and got two rooms. The guest staying in the single room described it as a "prison cell". Tiny. The standard double room was also extremely More

Staff pretends to be friendly, but even being a platinum elite member they denied to give me an upgrade, even when the rooms were available and response was what if someone comes and want to pay more for your upgraded room. Even after requesting an early checkin, we got checked in just around the normal checkin time. Hilton staff from this hotel made me feel for the first time that loyalty program and being top of their status is still futile.

Good room, stayed in 'compact double' but sizeable and appreciated ironing board, iron and hair dryer. Breakfast good but service mediocre. Otherwise very professional service and quick turn down of room.

This was my first time at a Hilton, and I was actually quite disappointed. We travelled as a group for a conference and were all given different standards of room. Unfortunately, mine was freezing cold and had a small double. The others in my group had standard doubles and apparently warm rooms! I asked for a heater and one was brought up, but I also overheard one of my neighbours receiving a heater, so I imagine this is an older, cold part of the hotel without any heating.

The fixtures and fittings were all very old and dated and the basin in the bathroom needed to be replaced a good few years back.

This wasn't a great first experience at a Hilton and I'll stay elsewhere next time I'm in Brighton.

Another super visit to Brighton and a great hotel. They try to please and they certainly did this time. When we went into our booked room it was tiny, stuffy and overheated. With not a quibble they quickly moved us to a bigger more airy room with sea views. Thank you so much!
Also a quick mention of the great breakfasts you always serve. What a wide choice and happy servers too.

The Metropole is part of the character of Brighton and the seafront and has to be on the list of choices to stay when visiting the city. The hotel architecture and decor is amazing with plenty of space. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Car park crazy expensive and no valet parking service available.

My daughter and I did not stay at the hotel, but she had organised a cream tea for my birthday. We arrived on time the restaurant was not very busy and there were two waiters. It was a hot day so a few guests were on the balcony, which we also chose to do,we sat at a table that had not been cleared ,and had a cream tea left on it ,with most of the food left ,which should have set alarm bells ringing. We waited half an hour ,no service, so went to find a waiter he said oh ok ,I will sort it,did not ask if we wanted a drink, sat down again ,another half an hour went by and still nothing.I went into bar and found a waitress she went oh we must have forgotten you, twenty mins later our cream tea turned up.The sandwiches looked as if they had been cut with a rusty razor jagged and falling apart, the filling ,no butter massive chunks of rock hard Brie and a sliver of cucumber, one prawn sandwich the prawns still semi frozen, the scones were burnt could not get a knife through them, the cakes ,tasteless and hard, they bought a pot of tea ,without milk or sugar,no teaspoons, and the jam in a plastic squirt wrapper. We left the food uneaten ,and went to complain, the waitress offered us two glasses of wine which we declined, this had been prepaid so asked for our money back, which she said she could not do,the manager then arrived who also said no,until I got really angry and said you will sort this out now,he blamed everyone but himself, in the end we had to go to reception and get this dealt with.Never ever go this hotel for this cream tea,I have had better food and service at a motorway cafe.the staff incompetent, the manager a waste of time. All in all a truly dreadful experience.

We stayed at the Hilton to have a good weekend, expecting luxury and a top class hotel. While the staff and breakfast were great we felt really let down by the hotel itself. I took my elderly parents on a special treat to celebrate both their big birthdays but felt really let down and embarrassed by your hotel. I paid top notch money for something that should have been less than half the price. The hotel is shabby with very old plumbing. You've done the bare minimum (a lick of paint) to keep it going. I can't actually list everything that was wrong as there was so much but rust in the bath was really unacceptable. If you're going to charge these prices you really need a big overhaul. Unacceptable for a Hilton

Numerous attempts to find a room which wasn't an oven. The people on the front desk were trying their best to help but after trying a third room it was clear the problems were consistent throughout. In general the rooms were tired and very hot. In the final room which apparently had air conditing I managed to prop the windows open with the complimentary water bottles as they didn't stay open. The air conditioning also only pumped out hot air so turned that off! Final solution to cool the room was to prop the door open which allowed the air to flow from the hallway through the room. In general this hotel is definitely past it's best and is in need of some TLC. The breakfast was good and the evening meal was also nice. It is a shame as the rooms I experienced certainly don't do the initial impression of the hotel and the staff justice.

We had the best experience on our recent stay. The staff were all incredible from the front desk to the restaurant, and it felt like they would go out of their way to make sure our stay was fantastic. Highly recommended.

The Metropole is a fabulous historic hotel very close to the Brighton Pier and The Lanes. Our room was huge with gorgeous panoramic views up and down the seaside. The staff were extremely accommodating and went above and beyond to be helpful. The breakfast was a real treat with a large variety to chose from and the chefs made breakfast an experience. Thanks Metropole - you've outdone yourself.

I had my wedding at this hotel and I can honestly say it was AMAZING! From start to finish nothing was ever to much trouble for the staff. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyones big day. Amazing bedroom discounts for friends and family. Never got to use the spa but will go back soon. Breakfast was amazing so much to choose from. thank you so much all the wedding team especially!!!

Very average Hilton. Rooms can be hit or miss, and rooms in the part of the building facing the ocean are notably more comfortable than the rear part. Beds need to be replaced. However, the pool is really nice, and has a 24 hour gym. Rooms facing the ocean have amazing views!

Really lovely experience at the Hilton Brighton. Great location , directly on seafront. Excellent and convenient facilities such as spa, hairdressers, bar and restaurant. The pool, steam room and sauna are all available for use by all guest. The staff are exceptionally helpful. The hotel building has some lovely features but some areas do need a bit of updating like around the pool side changing rooms, hotel towels looked a bit tired and definitely needs replacing. The concept of the hotel is really good in that everything you would need is on site and I really appreciated that as it was absolutely pouring on my first day.

Just arrived back from this hotel from a two night stay for British Book Bash and honestly couldn't find a fault. Our room was lovely size and very clean. The staff were helpful and polite. The swimming pool was clean and good temperature. I would like to mention the bartender who was working downstairs at the event, if I remember rightly his name was Jack. He gave exceptional services and was so polite.

We had a disappointing stay in October due to the spa and restaurant facilities both having been outsourced. Before booking we checked by phone that these facilities would be available, we were assured that although we could not book in advance we would have no problem accessing them. However, on arrival found that the hotel has no authority to assure that as both are independently run and neither were available.

In general the room was large but hot, the shower was broken and the carpet worn. The service in the bar was very slow. I wouldn't describe this hotel as upscale at this time. The management did refund part of the cost and promised a better room if we return.

Was okay, not amazing. Pool was fully booked the whole time I was there
Room was really nice and clean and quiet with nice amenities
Breakfast was really nice , breakfast served to you but only got a 40 min slot at table which meant you didn t really have time to get seconds as there were queues to get served food

Room was small but clean and modern decor. Room was smaller than the Hilton at Gatwick airport. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice. Good location on the sea front and handy for everything.

Noise isolation between rooms is poor, you can hear everything next door and I was woken up by some idiot upstairs showering at 2AM.

Overall ok but on the edge of being bad value for money and could be improved.

Stayed here recently and it was not very good at all, room was far to hot and the air con took ages to get going, i couldn't open the window due to amount of noise coming from the generator outside. Our room had hair clips left on the floor from the previous people who'd stayed. Only positive was the staff were friendly and the breakfast was decent however i'd never stay again at the outrageous prices.
