This has been one of my favorite craft beer producers for a while and my husband and I finally had a chance to go to the brewery for the first time, which also happened to be the day for the release of their double chocolate stout, Black Watch. It was excellent. And what a great atmosphere -- too cold this day to enjoy the outside, but spacious yet cozy indoors with various seating and plenty of places to stand and socialize. The lines moved very fast at the bar. They really know what they're doing. Thankful for the food trucks as well. We will be back for sure and hope to get in for a tour sometime.

Very large facility probably the largest brewery in the area considering they have been around 25 years this year. There is a distillery that is next door to the brewery as well. They have rotating food trucks out front. Inside this is a serious brewery. Large stage for live bands, so much seating, tour desk, shipping containers with pods for the workstations. A really cool setup. Large quantity of beers, 4 pack tastings available at $10 each. Good quality beers. Parking lot was mostly full when we went but were able to find a space.

Truly a brewery and taproom that captures the spirit of Asheville, Highland has excellent year-round beers that are excellent examples of the craft, with amazing seasonal brews not to be missed. Music and food trucks are always a great experience. Don't miss the top floor taproom and the array of rooftop solar panels!

What a gem! I sat and enjoyed live music outside on the meadow on this beautiful summer evening along with my dog, enjoying a thirst-quenching beer (they offer a nice variety from pilsners to stouts), and eating a delicious meal from the one of the local food trucks!! Family friendly place & Clean bathrooms are also on sight. I highly recommend this place

Highland is one of the original microbrewers of Asheville that started it all, and they are still one of the best. Right now there are three bourbon barrel-aged beers on tap, and so many other unique better, they're hard to count. The Meadow in the back is open for live music, chillin under the trees, and has implemented social distancing better than anyone else: there are white & red rings set up on the ground, all far apart, and that's where you hang. You can still go to the bar for a pint, just return to your friendship circle, don't forget your mask. Thanks Highland!

We had an amazing time on our brewery tour today. Gary was a great tour guide and has such a great sense of humor. He made the tour interactive and enjoyable. Bluegrass was playing at the end of our tour and we loved listening to the band. Also loved seeing all the fur babies out and about!

I love photographing weddings here! The rooftop is perfect for quiet first looks and sunset portraits, the indoor space has incredible lines and lights for photos as well. Hard to beat the fun of a brewery wedding!

Can anyone point me to the 'why' of the logo change? I've been drinking Highland since 1996 and even worked for a while at the new tasting room shortly after it opened. I'm now very far from AVL but what I see on the website is not the same company that guided my initial love for craft beer. The entire idiosyncratic birth of the brewery by the Chinese guy, born in Jamaica, retiring to Asheville and starting a craft brewery named for the Scottish immigrants who settled in the NC Mountains seems to be lost to modern marketing concepts. Looks like Highland has lost it's soul. :( And, did Highland pull out of the FL market? I can't even seem to find a Gaelic anywhere. Much more a Kashmir. Do the bartenders even pour a 'half and half' St. T's and Kashmir anymore?

Great beers just don't understand why they needed to change the logo. Very disappointing! While an Asheville classic, outdoor area and food just doesn't compare to what you can experience at some of the other breweries in town.

Came to Asheville from FL. This place got great reviews so we decided to give it a try. Not worth it. There isn t any food available except for an incredibly over priced food truck. Came for thanksgiving week. Visited on a Sunday. No music as advertised on the website and reviews. Meadow was closed so kids couldn t play. How is it family friendly? No kids allowed in brewery! Bring your dogs but not your kids cus kids gotta stay outside while dogs enjoy the indoors. I called several times prior to arriving couldn t get a hold of a human being. Oh and BTw, no tours of brewery because of Covid. Website didn t mention this. Total waste of time and absolutely most expensive uneventful trip for our family. I gave it 2 stars because the beer was good...But I wouldn t come out here again. I can get good beer and food elsewhere with my kids.

My friend and I spent an afternoon at Highland Brewing Company. We ordered flights and enjoyed the atmosphere. They have food trucks there with indoor and outdoor seating along with a rooftop bar. Our bartender was great and the beer was good. We will be back!

I visit from Knoxville, TN and they have amazing beer and atmosphere. I do have to say I miss the old logo they had but I can deal with logo changes as long as their beer stays awesome. Keep grinding, Highland

We rented the Highland Brewing event venue for a wedding reception and were very, very pleased with the experience. The venue is perfect if you want a beer-centric party. The staff provided everything we needed to set up for our party, which includes music, a food truck, dancing, speeches, and, of course, lots of beer. If you want to host a fun event, I cannot recommend Highland enough.

A big time brewery that s got it all: great beer, lots of space, atmosphere, two stages, trails, volleyball courts, just loads of fun. They just nailed a NEIPA and their dark beers are always stellar.

My niece went here for her 29th birthday today. While there, her husband was asked to leave because he has a child. NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY!!! This will be made well known for all family and friends never to purchase or visit this establishment!

Delicious brews in a great environment. There was a great local band playing when I was there. A very family friendly place. There is ample space for plenty of people to partake in the festivities.

I live locally and have been coming to Highland for several years. The place is currently about as fun as a trip to the DMV. I get the concerns about COVID, but, good grief, precautions can be implemented without feeling like a police state. If you visit, be careful if you happen to stand up from your table (yes, even if outside in the meadow dozens of feet from anyone else) before putting your mask on. A large female employee will appear and berate you. What a fun place! There are plenty of other choices that aren't so rude to their guests. Won't be visiting again anytime soon.

Really great beer in a casual place that welcomes all. The bartenders are very patient and able to make good suggestions. A bonus is the food trucks outside are quite good. Several nights music is offered, which as mentioned, does make inside noisy, but are quality acts not to be missed. This place is now my hang out when I am in Asheville.

Night Flight run was awesome! The beer, the venue, and the food trucks were great but most of the bar tenders were jerks with the exception of three (the nice woman on the rooftop, and the man and woman in the special event room). We would go back because we love the beer and the atmosphere.

Me on the phone: "Will there be a food truck today"?
Highland phone rep: "possibly don't know"
Me: " I know it is only 2pm, say around 5 or 6"?
Highland phone rep: "maybe"
Me: " goodbye, click"
This would have been our first visit since moving to the area in January. Undecided if we will try again. Plenty of other choices to spend our money.

Highland was the 1st brewery on our recent trip to several in Western NC. It's less than a handful of miles from downtown and Tunnel Road. Highland is an established name in Asheville beer history and known for their consistency. On a lazy, pre-holiday December Sunday, the large tasting room was less than capacity, but comfortable and inviting. Flights are available - including their standards and available small batch selections. And the brewery tour was entertaining and worth the wait!

Great place to go and have a beer if you like beer, hiking, live music, food, volleyball and fantastic people. The people that work here are genuinely awesome and happy to be there. Top notch customer service. Solid, consistently good beer. I can't say enough good things about this place.

Went on a Sunday afternoon and the rooftop was closed for a private event so couldn t see that, but oh well. Pretty good number of beers and beer selection. The inside brewery is very spacious and plenty of room for lots of people. Outside seating out front near the good truck also. The meadow is huge and can hold plenty of people. Great scene with live music and beer and games. Bring your own chairs if you wanna sit out there though, picnic tables fill up fast. They were strict on masks/social distancing if you care about that kind of thing. Really cool place to spend an afternoon, definitely pop in if you re visiting Asheville.
