Beautiful, scenic facility, fantastic beers, great staff, laid back vibe, what's not to love?!
I have loved face painting for many events for Highland throughout the years. From Fathers Day Festival to Cold Mountain Nights! There is plenty of room for my handmade hoops that everyone can play with. Thank you Asheville for allowing me to paint <3
Impressive brewery with a great beer selection. Take the tour its worth it.
Great large selection of beers with multiple areas to sit
Well done beer and the space is really cool.
Nice people.
This is our neighborhood brewery, and we ways love coming here. The transitions over the last couple years have only reinforced how much we love Highland Brewery. From the day this tasting room opened (which we attended for a UNCA alumni event), to the rooftop opening, all the expansions and addit6have made the brewery more enjoyable. Our 9 year old loves to go and play games (ours from home or the large jenga/"beanie baggie toss" games available). The outside or inside are always family-friendly and places for a great time. We even can see the writing we left on the wall last Valentine's day 2018, just before the rebranding. We als ok support local and women in business.
Great location, great beer. We brought two small children 3 and 4, and felt very comfortable there. The beer was very good bordering on amazing. The food trucks were very good as well. 4.99 stars. Round up to 5.
Great experience. Outdoor music and great selection on tap. There were many families here with younger ones - bring a blanket and have a good time.
Great Covid measures in place and lots of comfortable outside seating. Add the great beer - heaven!!!
The beer is, hands down, some of the best in the country. Their bar and seating area is well appointed and very comfortable. If you are in Asheville you need to visit.
One of Asheville's family friendliest breweries. Great beer with friendly people and an awesome atmosphere. Note that dogs are not allowed in the tasting room but they are allowed in other areas on the property. Great spot for locals and tourists!
Ran a race here back in July 2016 - awesome place. Great atmosphere and super beer! I buy Highlands every chance I get when eating out! I plan to run the 2017 Highlands Night Flight! Keep up the good brewing!
Love Highland's beer, vibe, and sixteen places to drink!
Love the beer and the rooftop bar. A must if you are in asheville.
Great place, great beer. Went there for bacon fest 2018. My wife and I really enjoyed it, we will go again next year. When in Ashville we will visit Highland Brewing co for sure.
Great place for the occasion! My best friend daughter got married and it was the perfect place for it.
They had good beer, easy parking, no confusion or fuss, and a pleasant COVID19 procedure. We also enjoyed the food truck and patio. Would go back.
A gold standard for semi-industrial company/consumer interactions. Phenomenal taproom combined with one of consistently the best tours in the industry make Highland a must visit for any craft beer enthusiast, or anyone interested in chemistry.
Oscar and his team runs a tight ship offering the best craft beer in Asheville.
Awesome brewery...AMAZING BEER! We loved it here! Great staff!
I've been to quite a few breweries and this is my favorite so far. I loved the garden and the indoor area and the brews.
Awesome beer and venue. Always a favorite in Asheville!
This place knows what s going on. The High pine was the piney beer I ve been looking for for years. The music even on a Wednesday night was very impressive. Having a seat and table to watch the musician was awesome.
This place is awesome. Great place to hangout and ty delicious craft beers and ciders inside or outside. We went to a night on their Meadow and had a blast. Friendly people, great music and singing, walk up bar, re-vamped storage containers turned into nice restrooms, and food trucks. It was a great time. They ve got a good thing going.
It's a beautiful to have a beer, great prices , the rooftop is dog friendly if you wanted to bring your pet. Lots of parking.
Awesome atmosphere! Perfect place to sit back relax and enjoy some craft beer. I'll definitely stop in again next time I'm in Asheville NC.
I did not enjoy the tour. Rushed and "tour guide" was not pleasant. Beers were good but I won't be back.
Cool place and they have some great beers on tap. Only thing is I wanted to do a tour of their brew house but there was no one else signed up for the tour, so I wasn t able to do it as a solo.
One of the original Asheville breweries. Low key, but still fun atmosphere with a great variety of beer on tap in several different venues.
Love Asheville's original brew (especially from it's Barley's Pizza days) but disappointed with the high store prices, lack of being able to get a growler filled at the brewery. Also, it is great that Highland continues to innovate with different type of brew, however, don't forget some of your originals that made you what you are by us locals like Devil's Britches Red IPA and Little Hump Spring Ale. Please bring back some of the old ones and sell them from time to time with your new brews. Also, I hope I have been misinformed about the new label which is fine but it is rumored that Scotty has been moved aside for the star because of political correctness. Many of us who strongly support Highland and have helped make it what it is today certainly hope that this is a rumor.
Great beer. Great staff. Have never had a bad time here and the tour is great!
Hung out here from 3-6 on a Monday and it was very nice. Quite, with chill music playing the entire time.
A miller/Coors company now. Not worth visiting or buying. They sold out. Check it out. Jan 2nd is the date they publicly sell out to big beer. They screwed the people that worked hard to get their beer known as craft for over 12 years for a big beer paycheck. When you buy Highland you are buying Miller. Ugh.
Great beer. Very true to style in everything. Plenty of small batch beers you can only get here.
Their Pilsner is my favorite Germans pils.
They have most styles besides the sours, at least st the time of this review.
Encapsulates the spirit of the Asheville brewery scene.
Great place to grab a drink or see a show. The beer is terrific and so are the servers. Highly recommend.
Used their event space recently for my wedding, had an amazing time. Everyone I worked with was wonderful and everything worked out fantastically. The brewery itself is also a great space, very reasonably priced for awesome beer!
Tight place for truck deliveries, come all the way upto the hill and follow signs for deliveries, enough place to back up , 2 wide docks , restrooms available, polite people
Tours are great :-)
But the Tour guides would make more tips if they actually wore KILTS!!
Big space, but no windows made it very dark inside.
This was the place I was looking forward to the most on our beer trip and it did not disappoint. Loved everything I had here and the staff was friendly and fun to talk to. The outdoor area was great as well.
Highland Brewery was awesome! My wife and I went for a special limited edition release for Cold Mountain. Delicious! The tasting room was chill and there was live music. The whole experience was really nice. To top it off, we met the founder of Highland Brewing, Oscar Wong. He visited with every table there and seemed like a really nice guy. Check this place out if you are ever in Asheville, NC.
Lots of local beer options, including doing a taste test of some bourbon made at the attached distillery. They even had live music.
They were horribly understaffed due to weather, yet made a special effort to fill a request for my friend who was visiting from Alaska. I am do glad I made the trip! Thank you!!!
Wow! Indoor, outdoor deck and meadow.
Great venue and beer.
Great food trucks
Highland never disappoints! Great beers to choose from, so much space inside & out, and the most friendly beertenders. Oh, yeah, the yummy food trucks, too.
Husband and I very much enjoyed our quick visit today! The flight was a great value and I learned to my amazement that I LOVE their porter! We'll be back soon with closed toe shoes on to take the tour.
Staff wasn't very nice. Children running around and screaming. Thought this was a brewery, not a chuck-e-cheese.
Dear Highland Brewery Company, I love your beers. I believe the Thunderstruck Coffee Porter was sent from God himself. Thank you for all that you do. Cheers
Great place to relax or to be social. Thank you for the hospitality!
Fun place. Great selection of beer. Family friendly, too. Comfortable atmosphere. Looks like they also have live music (but not when we were there on a Saturday at 6pm.) No food, but there were several food trucks parked nearby. Definitely worth visiting.
This is a great place to visit, we went on a tour which was really interesting. We could only stop for a short time sadly, it would be quite easy to spend a nice relaxed day here.
Highland is always one of my favorite places and beer! I hadn t been because of the pandemic. I finally went last night and I haven t felt safer! They take everyone s safety and masks very seriously! Thanks so much!
Had some issues with a booking after a former talent buyer left the company. The staff came around and made everything right. Would recommend highland brewing beer, music and taproom.
Great selection of beers. Close to the city and beahtiful views from the roof bar.
Beautiful location! Great atmosphere and friendly staff! Go support this local business!
I get the plausible danger of being on the roof but we came on a Sunday and had our 13 year old, 9 year old granddaughter and 8 month old granddaughter and we were told to leave the rooftop. There were only 2-3 ppl on the roof and our kids were truly behaving. There is more reason to keep them from the distillery then the roof! Won't come back again!!!!
Great service and friendly employees! We had a great time!
Love the outside area. They did a very food job social distancing
The best brewery in town! Great place to visit. Check them out when you are in the area.
We had a good tour guide who thoroughly explained everything
What can I say about my favorite brewery that you haven't already heard before? There are many in town now, but they were the first NC craft beer I ever had. I always give new local places a try, but when I'm asked where I want to go Highland is always my answer.
We loved visiting here. We came to Asheville from Cincinnati to check out the craft beer, and this was one of our favorites. We loved that it was such a big place with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. we also loved the fact that it was dog friendly!
Had our wedding in the event space- everything was so beautiful! Marissa the event coordinator at highland was top notch! She was calm and helpful all night!
Highland is my favorite brewery in Asheville! My husband and I usually make a weekly visit to this brewery. We have always received consistent, great service and they are on top of procedures during COVID.
I had the opportunity to work some side stage with the band Billingsly at Highland tonight! Very good beer, and very good bartenders. The band and sound was great, but I was disappointed with the side stage sound engineer who loudly said "better be fast," after the band announced last song (on time). It was upsetting to see him ready to kick the band out when the crowd was enjoying them and the brewery was still open for another hour. 11/2/18
The release of the Black Watch Double Chocolate Stout was fantastic and fun. The Highland Brewery has a wide variety of quality beers. The staff have an excellent knowledge of the beers and are very friendly. My wife and I bought two of the last four cases of the Black Watch.
We moved here about a year ago and this has been our favorite brewery to hang at. I saw Rich Robinson the other night at the event center and it was one of the better shows I've seen in a while. It's set up almost like a small House Of Blues club and the sound was great. It's more of a laid back atmosphere not in the downtown area so if you're going to go, plan on staying for awhile and checking out some good music. They also have local food trucks serving up killer food on event nights.
Great beer, and free brewery tours. What's not to like about that!?
