So i never hired Brad as my counsel. However i did reach out to him to retain counsel. Here is my exp. I contacted them from google search. Spoke to Richard. Was advised Brad charges $500 for a consultation which i would say is not very common in a criminal practice and any lawyer i know that does, is maybe half this fee. i agreed anyways, however invoice went to spam so they just said dont worry about it we will do a quick call instead. I'm from Cleveland and have attorneys up here, but this matter was going to be in Columbus. The consult fee is really kind of crazy because you are really interviewing each other to see if he is interested in your case and you in hiring him. But time is money so whatever. Anyways i speak to brad. He immediately seems to want to push me off to another attorney. Imagine paying $500 for someone to refer you to another lawyer. lol He does however seem more interested when i tell him just plea the case down and make it go away quick. Anyways i get the retainer agreement and i was actually about to hire him and i read through the agreement and few things stood out that stopped me. One is he wanted $7500 to represent me "pre indictment" which is literally like one hearing lol Which isnt what we discussed and no where close to a common retainer fee for such work. But imagine if i didn't catch that, but lets give him the benefit of the doubt and label it as a mistake. Secondly i notice his retainer agreement is strategically written to protect him very well in regards to a fee dispute. I did address the retainer agreement and it was corrected and revised. But if your my attorney and you cant structure a contract correct off your own clients conversation on how much to pay you. How can i trust my life in your hands? People rely on attorneys to review documents and writing motions to fight for their cause. They practice these actions more then anything else. i dont want to have to look over my attorneys shoulder and baby sit. If you can miss details about our payment agreement what else will you miss? One thing i have also noticed is he secludes him self from communication to you. I guess maybe i am just spoiled with the lawyers i use in Cleveland, who are nationally reconsidered and federal lawyers and don't handle business like this. My attorneys call me at 8pm from their cell phone at home to discuss case strategy. Not email a poorly written contract to another guy who then will email it to me lol. BTW if you didnt do your research he seems to be more of a guy to hire for a DUI. 2 stars because you saved me $7500, i reached out and negotiated a settlement on my own, so thanks for that i guess. He may be a great lawyer and made a quick error, i dont know. But the business end, not so much

Take my advice and never go to court without a good lawyer. Brad Koffel, is a great lawyer. When you hire Koffel Law, you get more than just a lawyer. Koffel is an amazing attorney! Without talking about the case much, he cut right into the point and said 7500 is the retainer fee for pre-indictment and 1000 for consultation. He would ask what your full name is and also the accuser s full name. I refused to tell them my family number s (Who is facing the accusation) full name and the accuser s name. And then he said I don t want to play games with you without your full names . It s just the first conversation, who would reveal their full identity?
