Excellent grounds, nothing wrong with the hotel. Staff was sometimes not the nicest and other times a bit disorganised. But a good experience overall.

Big place good food good spa amazing golf many activities to do
Cancelled as our wedding venue with not much explanation! Things had been booked and therefore needed to be cancelled. Offered no compensation, didn t even reply to emails. Stay away! (Apparently not taking bookings from 2020 onwards)
We booked New year Eve in the resort, everthing was great, very organised, all the staff very very welcoming and accommodating, the buffet, party, decorations, fireworks, cream tea, breakfast was really nice.
Thanks a lot .

Good job Heythrop Park Resort
Sadly while this is an amazing venue at least last weekend when we stayed most of the staff must have been on holiday!! A very pleasant and efficient check in for a big group, the rooms ok, probably smaller than a Premier Inn but clean and a great walk in shower but after that was all downhill. Trying to get (an expensive) drink in the bar when one guy trying to supervise but effectively totally confusing the two younger team members who were trying their best one getting drinks the other making coffee, took forever and really they obviously had no bar experience or training so not really their fault. Our evening barbecue (was it?) food was average at best, tiny chicken drumsticks, burgers that were unrecognisable as such, a shortage of plates and when the very small deserts ran out friends were served profiteroles that were still frozen in the centre. My wife enjoyed the pool and spa the following morning while we had the morning out. On our return the same disorganised chaos at the bar and an expensive but awful sharing platter to keep us going. The Saturday evening do started better, the food was ok when it arrived, again far to few servers and only one director of operations for a couple of hundred people one table at a time. It was lamb, no mint sauce on the table. We did ask for and the time it took to arrive we had almost finished, someone must have been sent out to Waitrose!! Desert ok but again so long and trying to get a coffee a complete farce. Far too few waiting staff, ran out of saucers and teaspoons by the time they got to us and I managed to get half a cup of luke warm coffee. Could have been a great event but where was the organisation that should go hand in hand with a what advertises itself as an event venue? The last straw for a number of our group who had actually paid to upgrade to better rooms was when from midnight a very noisy crew started to remove furniture, cutlery etc out to a waiting van all the time making a lot of noise. After a phone call to reception it stopped for a while then recommenced even worse only quieting down at three in the morning!! Certainly no sleep for anyone on that side of the building!
Could have been great. Perhaps our group was just too big? Perhaps something you need to consider before booking this venue. I wouldn t go back again.
Lovely hotel. Followed all the Covid measures, so happy with that. Bar is overpriced on food and drinks. Wifi in rooms are not good at all. I couldn't even send an email without the signal dropping. Enjoyed the grounds and the swimming pool. Staff are friendly and helpful. Unfortunately due to Covid there was no breakfast buffet, which was a bit of a let down especially for the price.
Fantastic hotel, ex Statley Home set in large estate. Great rooms and conference facilities. Good food and drink during our stay. Would go back again.
A nice place to go for a long weekend of relaxation and recuperation. The rooms are pretty good. There's the usual spa, pool and gym facilities that you would expect of such places, but for anyone who has even a passing interest in golf, the course is both interesting and challenging. My only quibble would be with regards to the dining facilities - especially in the evening. Could be better. But that doesn't detract from the overall experience.
The most gorgeous drive up to the main building with stunning grounds and outstanding views. I was here for a wedding but the visit has encouraged me to book a short getaway with my family for them to soak in what Heythrop has to offer.
I was at work, so didn't see a lot. But I was slightly disappointed as hotel looks amazing outside, worse inside.
Comfortable room and bed. Great bathroom. However, where is storage space. Twin room but only a small single wardrobe and a solitary drawer??? Group booking gave a good price and food was great quality. Breakfast was a generous self service with comprehensive choice. Bar was ok, pricing a bit high but it is a prestige championship golf resort. Didn't experience the sporting facilities.
Went there for our work conference. Food was pretty poor but it was a huge event so cant expect too much. Venue however was amazing. Love the vibe there and kept the "old" look. Theatre room was impressive. They do have a hotel bar that's open till around 3am. Staff were pleasant. Room were a bit small though. Breakfast was ok.
Helpfully staff, clean room ,resturant on site only let down breakfast was well over priced for what we got.Toast warm ,eggs under cooked , coffee cold, bacon rock hard you get the drift. The other downside was the weekend we went there were so many golfers stopping there with there gangs of 15 or so when it was supposed to be groups of no more than 6 which the manager did eventually address. They were returning in the early hours of the morning from were ever they had been drinking shouting and laughing with total disregard for other guests. The place it self is nice and the staff do there best I suppose.
Good for a peaceful long or short walk during lockdown, shame could not get a hot takeaway drink or snack.
If Faulty Towers had 400 rooms this would be it. Apart from the hotel being grotty with stains everywhere, they completely screwed up our wedding rooms booking. At least 50% of the guests had issues with their reservation (generally booked on wrong day). We booked a bag drop for our guests and they missed half of the guests off, or dropped it too late. The breakfast was dreadful. Concentrate OJ from a can. Absolutely disgusting. Most of the guests had to complain about noise from the circus weddings they had on. Just an awful hotel.
Gorgeous grounds even in the rain. Good covid measures. Scrumptious breakfast and dinner especially loved the overnight oats. Lovely massage/spa.
Wonderful experience. Staff bent over backwards to ensure we had a fabulous time
Brilliant golf course, really beautiful holes in stunning countryside. Even though the ground was wet the greens were in great condition and rolled really true. Will definitely recommend a trip here.
Lovely gardens, clean rooms...though would have preferred an evening visit too from the staff regarding the room and bathroom, discreet staff. Nice visit. Golfers would love it!
I've photographed a few weddings at Heythrop Park and it's always been a beautiful venue with lovely service! The building is very ornate and great for taking photos in.
Room was lovely and staff were all excellent. Food was just disappointing. 8 hour braised lamb was too tough to cut and twice cooked chicken in cafe au lait sauce was only marginally better. Gave up in the end. Breakfast was smashing though. Would go back, but would be mindful of the menu.
We booked for two nights and wanted to check out right after our arrival. Nothing was as it seemed on the webpage and did not feel secure at all, as most of the people inside the hotel were not wearing masks or keeping any social distance. The building were our room was, meant to be the most exclusive of all, but stank horribly.
Our room was big but freezing cold and the bedding was a joke, I had to sleep with a roll neck on. We had booked breakfast, afternoon tea and spa treatment but we left after the first night without trying any of it.
Exotic, treasure of hospitality hidden on a lush expansive green field
Having just spent the last two days here I wanted to express the amazing service from Carl Dancer, Assistant Restaurant Manager. His service was exceptional with a real focus on ensuring that we and our kids had everything possible and a smile always. Nothing was too much trouble and from a table of 15 Carl should be commended on his positive and professional, jolly attitude and is a real credit to the hotel. Thanks Carl
Great drive in through woodlands, facilities all good. Happy to stay here again
A beautiful house set in stunning surroundings. Some areas of the hotel could do with a little TLC, but generally speaking everything is of a fairly good standard.
Downgraded from 4 stars due to the abysmal service provided when trying to locate a coat. Was told that because they had provided the cloakroom on behalf of event organisers, they were not responsible for the items, and that the coat must have been stolen. I refuse to believe that company policy regarding crimes on the premises is that "they just happen, and it's not our problem". After suggesting that the coat was stolen, staff outright refused to even review security footage.
Tl;dr it's a lovely place, but don't leave any belongings unattended as the staff will simply refuse to be involved should something be stolen.
great room ! hosted the blesma agm ! stunning location:-)
Beautiful location, lovely rooms and friendly staff
Beautiful grounds with a manor house converted into a hotel with a modern wing. Very good food!
Thankfully the resort stayed open for Xmas Eve until Boxing Day. Only 40 residents but Heythrop resort was a Christmas miracle for those people who attended. Thank you sooooo much, as you say you could have closed. You made my husbands and I Christmas, walking through the grounds Boxing Day morning lovely. We will return.
Went 4 weekend golf course in poor condition, especially the bunkers & tee boxes, they would not take cash in the hotel so a lot of us cought out, but the room was very good, & staff very helpful.
Lovely wedding wedding venue and great coordinators on site to assist.
Stayed for one night. The grounds are unreal beautiful all round. Felt a bit sole less in the hotel possible due to covid and not been able to have big events. Pool time was 45 mins slots needed booking but delayed due to breakfast service. Only could do 20 mins and rushing wasnt ideal. Had dinner at the hotel wasn't enjoyable food tasteless and over cooked fish dishes, breakfast was done well. Hard to get attention of staff for juices and tea and coffees.
Had a family room very cramped for a family of 4. 2 double beds and temperature couldn't be adjusted.
Would I stay again maybe after covid.
Worth a visit. Like something from a film set. A sweeping drive from the public highway, through two miles of lovely trees and green fields.
The facade and reception area of the old house is really something to see. With a veranda overlooking the vast lawns and trees.
Although some parts of the exterior seem a little dilapidated. Still worth seeing. A modern hotel has been added to the hotel. I only visited for the day, so cannot comment further.
Great place for a conference. Staff were very helpful. Bit pricey at the bar.
As wedding photographers we get to see a lot of venues but Heythrop park has to be one of my favourite venues to work in. The interior and exterior architecture is beautiful and it has an amazing grounds to capture some stunning photos.
The Heythrop park team are always very welcoming and extremely helpful. Highly recommended.
Ankit Govind
A taste of luxury. Extensive grounds. The entertainment in the Marquee was amazing. Superb night. staff are excellent. A bit of grandure. Meals we're delicious and I felt safe and staff were careful . Thanks
I have only played the golf course, which is long but beautiful. Love it.
A little tired in places. Fountain outside wasn't working and the corridors seemed to have seen better days. Sandwich was a little basic... but friendly staff throughout.
Just like being in a britiana, food so so, bed room very basic and needs decorating
Great hotel and well managed through Covid situation
Nice manor house and comfortable beds, BUT: 1) No signs so it is very confusing to navigate through the buildings
2) I appreciate the fact that people want to celebrate their wedding but waking up at 9 o clock on a Sunday morning with some drummers for a Sikh wedding is not the most relaxing experience that I wanted
3) No noise insulation at all. You can t just hear people talking in the corridor but you can also hear what they talk about
4) No Wifi! Yes no Wifi in our room
5) As other people mentioned, no staff. We spent 15 min trying to navigate in the property to find the spa
6) Mould in the shower
7) In general, too expensive for what it offers
This is an amazing place to stay of you are looking for a relaxing break. The grounds are beautiful, the main building is stunning, the staff are professional and make the stay really enjoyable. The restaurant food was great, the spa and pool facilities were a welcome addition after a long drive. I can't recommend the place enough to anyone who would enjoy picturesque rolling views of the countryside in a tranquil location. 10 out of 10. I will definitely come again.
Lovely but have to agree with other comments. Very overpriced.
This is a brilliant Grade II listed house on the previous estate of the Earl of Shrewsbury. Today, the Heythrop property includes the Park Hotel and the Crown Plaza, adjacent to each other. The difference between the hotels, stretching across the main house and two wings, is the interior design of the rooms. They share the same facilities.
The reason for the two star rating are as follows. While the staff is kind and helpful, there are too few of them, which is a challenge in the mornings and evenings. The Brassey restaurant is the only place for breakfast for both hotels and much too small. Since the Park Hotel is frequently visited by groups and both hotels hold conferences, you won t have much peace and quiet in the morning, and you might not even get a seat on weekends. The coffee and espresso served are low quality. The wine list also leaves a lot to be desired.
For the size of the place my room was very cramped no where to put case, room not very clean empty shampoo bottle in shower, no milk for coffee and yes making facilities and not ideal for foriegn groups who can easily get lost in the vast complex of buildings
..food was excellent and staff very polite
A great place for a round of footgolf. Fun and reasonably priced course for 9 holes.
Amazing place but poor management not enough staff so lots of complaints could be an amazing place with the right management
Lovely hotel with great staff. I was impressed with the gym area and golf facilities which were open to guests. Breakfast is fairly standard but dinners and lunches were great, including a selection of cuisines from around the world.
The rooms are cleaned daily with tea and biscuits replenished, however the shower was quite small and no bath in my room. Wifi is free however so that's great.
Beautiful grounds. Beautiful hotel all in all decent service but room I stayed in archways was dark.. was there for evening event but struggled to get ready in bad lighting. Floor in bathroom was like ice too.
Decent 4 star family resort. Staff are super friendly and accommodating. Rooms are clean and reasonably sized (family room). Bathrooms clean and modern. Food at the restaurant and bar is of good quality although not much variety if you are all inclusive. Great value for the family rate! The only gripe I had was we had to ask for the room to be serviced, one day they skipped it completely and the other day they never made the beds. Enough for the kids to do for possibly 2 days otherwise I would suggest to use as a base to explore Oxford and surrounds.
Very peaceful and relaxing location. The house itself is amazing and definitely recommend a walk around the resort. Great for couples and families. Loads of parking and good bar menu. A growing wedding location!
Beautiful grounds and amenities, very friendly and helpful staff.
Really not worth the money at all, rooms very small so are the beds. Cobwebs everywhere, rundown bathrooms with mold in the showers. Breakfast was very basic. How is this place rated as 4*?!
We were there for a wedding last night. Good for a wedding venue but not to stay! Don't waste your money, find another hotel to stay after your wedding.
A bit of a maze. Smallish rooms. Lovely old house and setting though, and staff pleasant and helpful
The rooms are lovely. But when we went to see the group's the bar staff were not good as we had too wait for 10 minutes for a drinks.
Had a great stay with friends lovely hotel well located for local attractions and shopping!
Excellent golf course need to book a buggy but scenery is beautiful. Everyone is very friendly and helpful
Very beautiful resort. Good place for conference. The same structure as the bleinhem palace. Good service and delicious food serving with varieties
Looked amazing.. had a Xmas conference there so my review is some what restricted..
Great venue and grounds, visited here for a family wedding in the 10 August 2019. Tut venue looked impressive as you approach it by car, huge grounds, tennis court, water feature. The manor house does have many original features but it's quite dirty there are windows open and the window sills were full of dead flies. The wallpaper had scruff marks and in some place you could see the plaster.
This hotel doesn't seem to understand that the bedrooms are what people are paying for. No one should ever expect a broken bed nore gone off milk for my morning coffee.
As I said resort is good for a wedding venue but stay somewhere else if you have a choice.
Don't stay at this hotel..
The list is to long to explain everything wrong with our stay, but don't eat at this hotel. The food made myself and eldest ill, we couldn't fully redeem our dinner bed and breakfast deal due to this. On Mentioning my concerns to staff I got a blank stare with no follow up. Now its no longer the crown plaza I feel the standards have dropped considerably. I have stayed at this Hotel for years, but never again. If you are a family looking for a break please think twice, the restaurant doesn't open till 7 and the promised films don't start on time. The first room we were allocated didn't have the correct configuration, the second room had no bedding. Such a shame to see this happen to what was a good hotel...
Strange times, amazing grounds , room very spacious.
Lovely place. Amazing location. Only problem was the SPA was fully booked and we were told to book the SPA three weeks in advance. Would have been nice to know this information before we booked the room. Still had a good time. Lovely walks too.
Beautiful place, lovely room excellent food and service
Beautiful setting and the manor house is pretty but would not recommend or visit again.
Only thing 'cleaned' in room was the sheets and fresh towels. Bathroom was not cleaned, rubbish bin not cleared.
Spa was alright, you just have to walk for 10 minutes from main part and the walk is not indoors so bear in mind if booking during winter.
A friend and I had afternoon tea here. It was very good. Delicious. Very unhurried unobtrusive service. Might bring my sister in law here when she visits from the USA.
Poor food and lots of small repairs and attention to detail required. Very disappointing
Stayed for 1 night weekend spa break, room and the food was excellent, staff very helpful, stunning venue, spa was very relaxing aswell, will be returning soon
Only spent a night but spacious clean bedroom. Welcoming staff. Great food.Drinks expensive
Incredible. The venue was very impressive, both in size and luxury. The staff were all inviting, friendly and professional; willing to do anything for you at the drop of a hat. My room was flawless and the food was truly delicious.
Fading fast. Looking tired and a bit shabby. Restaurant staff didn't seem to understand much English which was a bit a problem. And those that did were not given any ability to show skills. Let the staff shine.
Rooms have seen better days as well paper was distressed. And soft furnishings, especially curtain are sun damaged and shabby.
Lovely house but needs proper maintenance
Great golf course, greens really true, fairways well tended.
Great staff, clean rooms and good attention to detail. Was here for a conference and impressed with all individuals who were involved. The entrance is a long drive, but nice to check out some deer.
Lovely hotel and people..shame about the shouting and noise from next room and chatting outside until 2.30 in the morning.. also myself and two sons came for a golf weekend and I was assured buggies were available all year round. Unfortunately that was not the case so I was unable to do the round this morning as my knees were too sore. Seems to be a bit of a waste...please let me know your thoughts
Golf course in good condition. Greens fast and true. Would advise carrying in the winter as pushing a trolley a little bit difficult in places.
A brilliant golf course all the way around quite tricky on some holes which I like preferably take a buggy because it's quite long and the staff are incredibly helpful
Visited to stay and play golf, wonderful golf course, (need a buggy, not a long course but long walk between holes) good not bad, breakfast excellent staff good, my only gripe room was quite small tiny bathroom. All in all great, would go back
Stayed for a week at a work event. Had everything you would expect. Food was nice, could do with more selection at breakfast. Really nice venue to walk around. WiFi could be better. Alcohol was a bit too expensive.
We arrived and the room was very dirty and wasn t cleaned after the previous guests had left. We asked them to clean it or put us into a new room and let us know once it was done, we waited an hour and went back to reception, room was supposedly ready. We checked the room again, they had just made the bed. In the bathroom there still were the old towels from previous guests. Bed was very uncomfortable and the hotel itself wasn t nice at all and not what you would expect from a English Manor House..
very disappointing!
Would not recommend at all
A fantastic venue with great service. Just had our Mail Boxes Etc. conference there and it was superb!
Amazing place staff helpful the tribute night was very good trying to arrange another stay
