Very worthwhile. Beautiful canvases with good explanation via the audio guide. Don't skip the Golden Age exhibition. Especially the space with the canvases about the Amsterdam civic guard is impressively designed and the interactive explanation well cared for.

We had a really nice guide. Really recommended. It's just a shame that at the most awkward moments the light in the main hall goes out (and after a while on and off again almost immediately). When you're just looking at a detail, the light goes out because of some automated listening program. Very sorry.
Fortunately, we were not bothered by this in the smaller rooms.

A beautiful museum that can see small wonders from the Hermitage Museum of St. Petersburg or this magnificent gallery portraits of groups of the Golden Age (at the base of the Dutch Society) absolutely impressive by its animation .. . It is possible to listen quietly at home audio guides with visuals.
We also eat very well and the garden contributes to the tranquility of this place in the middle of the city

Another museum in Amsterdam with a fantastic architecture, the triple cumulative ticket of 25 euros (or the museum card like us) allows you to visit all the exhibits, they have not thrilled us like other museums in the city but leaves anyway a beautiful memory.

This is a great example of a (relatively) new museum with everything a very old very established museum has. The collection is (of course) simply stunning. The building has been renovated with the utmost attention to detail. Do visit. You won't regret it.

Definitely one of the best galleries in the world. The collection is huge and entertaining. There is a free audio guide, but the ticket is expensive as well as everything in the Nederlands. I would rather everyone visited the place in order to have cultural experience. Even if you don't understand art, this place is a must to roam around in your list.

Great museum, interesting collection of russian-dutch common history or relation. However, the signs in museum could be improved a bot, we got lost several times.Definately visit as well the restaurant in the garden or join at summer jazz night.

Museum, collection is from Russia. They make very good high quality exhibitions. Annoying is that nowadays you also have to go to the cash register with your museum card. Earlier they had a machine where you could get your ticket and thus avoid the lines.

Great museum!

Great museum!

Loved the temporary exhibition "Jewels" and the permanent collection of portraits is great as well.

Don't forget to take some time in the nice garden outside!

Impressed, 5 hours of sweetness at the Dutch Masters, forgotten the whole world around me. But arranged much more modern and structured than in the real winter palace / Hermitage in Russia, but much smaller of course.

In this museum you can visit 3 different exhibitions. I really appreciated the Outsider: exhibition of paintings made by people with disabilities and photos of them professionals. There is a very interesting project behind it! I recommend it.
Portraits are less interesting but rather boring: few works.
I recommend it because it is included in the Iamsterdam card and because, like any museum in Amsterdam, it is located in a beautiful building.

Well-kept exhibition, but the Rijksmuseum offers more from the Rembrandt period. It did not add value to me. In any case, it was not too busy and that is the advantage of planning the number of visitors in advance. For lovers of baroque art, I would recommend the Rijksmuseum instead of the Hermitage. Museum annual pass with a supplement of EUR 10

Geweldig museum en dat voor een filiaal van de Hermitage in St. Petersburg.

Great museum, even for a branch of the Hermitage in St. Petersburg.

Pleasant place to go to. It s pretty empty at noontime if you enjoy looking around in peace. It s cool indoors and spacious. The guided tour has an annoyingly loud beep every time you scan another painting, but that s a minor issue. A great selection of artworks. There s also a kitchen near a secluded part of the Hermitage.

The Rembrandt exhibit/light show was nice. The voice acting was clear. You may need to move fast, though.

Overall, I highly suggest you go here if you want a peaceful museum as your next destination.

Beautiful exhibition: Dutch Masters. Crowded during May holidays. People didn't keep walking because they were listening to their free mobile audio information. Written information also hung next to the canvases. You cannot listen and read at the same time. Seniors with folding chairs pontifically sat in front of paintings, which is a nuisance in smaller spaces. All this is not conducive to traffic flow.

This museum is a lovely space and our first museum to visit in Amsterdam after moving here! We got our Museumkaart so we can have unlimited museum access for the next year. The exhibit (October 2018) was a history tour (audio guided) of the elite and guilds of various professions or governance groups in Amsterdam in the 1700s. The use of digital media was a great compliment with the paintings of the era. I hope all exhibits are as inviting and informative as this one was!

First of all it is an overpriced place. You will discover that there are 3 different exhibitions inside, each costing 14-18 or you can pay 25 for all-in-one ticket. Even with a Museum card we had to pay 2.5 extra to access though on museumkart web page it is mentioned as fully included museum.
If you have ever been in the Hermitage in St. Petersburg, then you will be super disappointed with this one. It is not worth of 0.005% of the real Hermitage.
There are many more interesting museums to visit in Amsterdam.

Hermitage regularly has special exhibitions, which with these old masters like Rembrandt is particularly beautiful, but it was a bit busy. If you have a bank giro lottery pass that you have not forgotten, you will save a surcharge that must also be paid with a museum year pass.
