Especially bought an E-ticket with a time lock.
But they let in anyone who buys a ticket at the box office. The result is an enormous amount of activity, which makes it difficult and almost impossible to see all the beauty in the display cases. Isn't the time slot meant to prevent crowds?

Separate branch of the Hermitage of St. Petersburg in Amsterdam. Worth the art gallery with paintings by Rembrandt and contemporaries to him. There are not many famous paintings, it is for those who know minor artists. The collection of Russian jewelry and clothes is large and varied

Visited jewelery exhibition, perhaps expecting a little too much. The audio tour, provided enough background information, all looked well cared for. Lunch used in the restaurant, were certainly not welcoming or accessible, rather grumpy. May something be done about it, that too is a part of the Hermitage experience.

Dutch Masters exhibition was beautiful.

November 2019: jewelry! Exhibition was disappointing. Close together and few jewels. Mainly many dresses. What I find interesting, but was not clear beforehand that it would revolve around the entire outfit instead of focusing on the jewelry. Slightly misleading title.

In addition to the permanent Militia and Group portraits, which in itself is well worth a visit, there is also two or three other exhibitions. At the moment it is the loan of a series of Dutch Masters from the St Petersburg Hermitage and these are just wonderful! They have been arranged in the halls with appropriate notes and explanations to make it easy to see them and appreciate and understand their importance.
The staff at the Hermitage Amsterdam are polite, friendly and welcoming, switching between Dutch, English, and it seems several other languages to make their guests feel comfortable. I will certainly be visiting again next time I go through Amsterdam.

We went to all three gallery displays free with iAmsterdam card.

The Romanovs display is superb. The audio explanations were very informative. An interesting trip through Russian history.

The Portrait Gallery is a display of incredible artistic talent. I hate modern art - you know "throw a pot of pink paint on a packet of blue plastic pegs and call it art". This display is the exact opposite of modern art. It was great.

When I was here it was so busy that it was not possible to move through the exhibition at my own pace. It is nice that they offer audio tours. When I found a quiet place it was actually really nice to learn about the history of the building and the Hermitage.

Beautiful and great museum, presenting the large paintings with the various companies of the 17th century. Free audio guide. Temporary exhibitions often very well. Jazz in the summer, free and paid outdoor cinema. More

"jewelry at the Russian court". It's just a pity that if 1 person stops things in a box, you cannot click on all the spoken information without that person becoming very annoying because you get into "his" box with your arm. So you cannot already listen to the info in another course. It would be better if all the info is already on your "speaker" and that you can decide for yourself when you listen to something without such a half-witted being a bit angry because it was always ahead of me.

One of the many museums in Amsterdam. It is a branch of the much more famous Hermitage of St. Petersburg. I visited an exhibition of various artifacts from various world museums and mainly from the very interesting St. Petersburg mother museum. But there were also other exhibitions with different subjects. Laptops are also available for free to illustrate audio shows in different languages. The museum is open every day from 10.00 to 17.00.

Worth, Worth, Worth ...
Less like the one in the motherland, but with well-selected selections from all areas: painting, sculpture, numismatics, furniture, decor, books, weapons ...
It also deserves the Outsider area with contemporary art, metal sculptures in the open air.

The exhibition, currently February 2018, of the old Dutch masters from the collection of the Tsars is fantastic and the audio guide is great. Worth going there. Buy tickets in advance on the Internet. Saves time.

I love coming here because the exhibitions have never disappointed me so far. Always a very nice and extensive audio tour. Unfortunately it was very busy on my last visit (Jewelry!). It might have been weekend, but a timeslot system would have been appropriate. The food in the restaurant is on the expensive side.

Great museum. I visited the Russian Jewel exhibition. It was beautifully displayed and was absolutely fantastic. Tickets are not too expensive but still cost a pretty penny at 18 per adult. This was an excellent exhibit. Furthermore, the museum has a wonderful cafe. Unfortunately I did not take many photographs inside the exhibit itself , as I was in a state of shock looking at the beautiful jewels.

The Hermitage on the Amstel is a branch of the Hermitage in St. Petersburg. Existed since February 2004. After reconstruction in 2009 occupies the entire building. There is no own collection - the exhibits are taken from the storerooms of the St. Petersburg Hermitage. The museum organizes temporary exhibitions.
