We were received in the courtyard by a shadowy person who offered tickets for cheaper. Since museum employees do not wear a badge, we still do not know whether the Hermitage actively participates in this unwanted entrance.

The museum is divided into three exhibitions. "1917. Romanovs & Revolution" (until September 17, 2017) I found little interesting. The lengthy fragments of the free audio tour did not explain the artworks. It only caused congestion in the tight spaces.

"Dutchmen of the Golden Age" was more rewarding, although it is nowhere near the Rijksmuseum. Especially the 'Dutch only' audio tour was a lot of fun. The regular audio tour was again too long-winded and too irrelevant.

Finally, Hermitage Amsterdam also offers 'The list of Dubuffet' in the Outsider Art Museum. The color pencil drawings are indistinguishable from the masterpieces that children aged five produce. Really ridiculous that they charge 12.50 for a single ticket.

In short, the museum does not live up to the name 'Hermitage' at all.

Went to see the Golden Age portrait exhibition and it was truly amazing. The first part of the exhibition features these massive portraits. They are life sized - I think the artists didn't know how to scale painting so they painted exactly as they saw. Amazing. The portraits are huge, long and simply massive. Worth a visit! Entry is free with the Amsterdam city card.

Visited two exhibitions. The golden age and the Romanovs.
Both exhibitions (each in their genre) are really worth a visit.
Beautiful museum by the way. You can easily spend a full day there.

Lovely

The name of the place is especially misleading after seeing the original.
The museum is reasonable but nothing more. Exhibitions alternate between him and the real Armitage, a distance from the sky.

An intimate museum located on the Amstel River in the center of Amsterdam.
The temporary exhibitions are always of a high level.
If you want to visit this museum, first check their site so that you can see if the temporary exhibition is of interest to you.
The museum has a pleasant restaurant internally.

Wanted to go to the "Jewelery" exhibition for a long time. But due to the Corona crisis, this was canceled. Now we were finally allowed again, and it was really beautiful. So much history, unbelievable. And the jewels themselves ... just speechless. In the museum, careful attention is paid to whether the measures are being observed, and there is one-way traffic everywhere. It was more than worth everything to me, and recommend everyone to go and see for themselves.

For quality, personally, it comes after the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh museum. Works of various artists, it is mainly present Flemish art. The visit is absolutely pleasant and the environment remains classy.
I advise!
