Very nice museum, beautiful collection. Really recommended.
It deserves to be called Hermitage indeed.
It is beautiful outside and inside. I ended to enjoy more the place than the exposition.
And yet, the exposition was wonderful. I can only give appraisals to the museum.
Clean, well organized, interesting, beautiful, practical, well located, etc.
It s big inside! Always more than one exhibition going on. Prepare to spend some hours there. 2.5 extra euro with a museumkaart. I really recommend using a museumkaart or at least a CJP, because I think the ticket is a bit expensive if you want to visit all exhibitions.
Aren't the Russians nice for letting us borrow parts of their collection, so that we don't have to go to Russia to see it. Really, if you're gay, or a free thinker or something, I would prefer to stay here.
Nice museum, with now a nice exhibition, the Dutch masters, who normally hang in St. Petersburg and you rarely get to see. Very good explanation from Jan Sixt and Geert Mak.
This is a stunning gallery especially now, August 2018, as they have the Classic Beauties exhibition. This has many outstanding exhibits but the highlight for me was The Three Graces by Canova. I have not been a great fan of sculpture but this is truly outstanding. To be able to draw this would be difficult but to create it in marble astonishing . Another highlight was Outsider Art. I very nearly didn't go to this but I'm delighted I did as I left smiling and uplifted. It reminded me what I feel art should be about. The sheer joy of creating something. Another plus for me was the gallery is not crowded so you can take time looking at the exhibits. They even provide stools, in the Three Graces, to take round with you so you can sit down and relax when looking at some great art. Don't miss it.
Wonderful, one of the best exhibits I have ever seen.
Awesome museum. Always Nice to go and visit. Very frequent change in collection which makes it fun to go back.
The cafe in museum is also very nice and clean with friendly staff.
A beautiful museum. Do have to wait a long time at the checkout i.v.m. staff outing. The jewelery exhibition of the Russian court was actually too busy!
Jewels from the Romanovs, and the gala dresses and costumes. Beautiful but again too much to absorb. I think many exhibitions in the Hermitage are too large.
Very youthful and cheap hostel, excellent location near the city center and close to public transport.
Friendly staff and acceptable cleanliness.
Recommended for young people thanks to its coming and going of new people.
Nice museum
Reasonably wheelchair accessible
Jewelery exhibition very beautiful
However, not at wheelchair height
In the Hermitage Amsterdam there is a particularly beautiful music festival Winter evenings on the Amstel. The concert was beautiful. Young Russian musicians played the stars of heaven. Every year we go there and every time we are again surprised by the beautiful music and the atmosphere just before Christmas
Exhibition Dutch Masters (2018) was fantastic. Unfortunately I saw someone in a wheelchair who was alone and had difficulty accessing the scanner for an audio tour. They were placed too high. The museum has not thought of this for people who are in wheelchairs. Furthermore, documentation was well taken care of.
Beautiful building. With a view on Amstel, Keizer- en Herengracht. Great exhibitions, no own collection. Good audiotour.
Is our city museum, where we regularly spend a Sunday afternoon.
It is a beautiful and unique museum. You can enjoy a lot of Dutch history and paintings...good thing, they let u take pics of the paintings
Beautiful jewelry exhibition. With good audio tour.
Beautiful building used to be a nursing home, but now wonderful exhibitions
Wonderful museum! Long live the museum year card! Now paid 10 euros for the Russian part, but how beautiful these masterpieces are!
Great exhibition 'Dutch Masters from the Hermitage'.
Rude staff kicking people out a few minutes before 5pm
Beautiful exhibition of Old Masters in a very beautiful museum.
I really enjoyed my visit to this museum, the shop had some great replica plaster busts which I could leave without buying. The cafe and restaurant had lovely menu. the Sculpture exhibit was brilliantly presented, The Three Graces were breath taking. I had a lovely time.
The Hermitage is a large museum in an historical building on the river Amstel, housing various top-notch temporary exhibitions. The Portraits of the 17th Century exhibition (until Feb 2nd 2020) is quite stunning. Not in the least because it has been augmented with a present day intervention - pictures of citizen of color of those days (actual historical figures) beautifully depicted by notable citizens of color of today, such as rapper Taifun and football player Ruud Gullit. Together with a fantastic ensemble of huge genuine 17th century group portraits. Very worthwhile! The Hermitage also has a large and well renowned restaurant.
Nice museum. The temporary collection of 17th century group porytaits is impressive. The temporary exhibition Juwelry! of Russian juwelry from the Russian 18th and 19th century court is worth visiting.
They have thought carefully about corona walking routes. The exhibitions are fantastic as always.
I loved the jewel expo and the portraits are beautiful and informative, with the audio tour. I love the whole historical film they show of the building and it's inhabitants.
Very beautiful especially the church hall and the antique kitchen !!!
Collection amazingly laid out in themes, easy to go through even though it is a large collection.
As always, a very well-kept exhibition with clear explanation and band Amsterdam vs St. Petersburg.
As always in the Hermitage a beautiful exhibition of these statues from the Hermitage in St. Petersburg.
Beautiful exhibition of the Dutch Masters. The recorded audio tour by Geert Mak and Jan Six was an enormous enrichment of the exhibition!
This is the sister of Hermitage Saint Petersburg, now I want to see that one to, it is a must see... 25 for all. Amazing value you will not be disappointed.
Exceptional. Amsterdam is truly a paradise for those who enjoy museums: the Hermitage branch is yet another first-line museum in the city. From the building to the curatorship of the works, everything reads 10. Definitely worth the visit. Do not miss the time lapse with the history of the place, which was once a nursing home.
Verry interesting museum with a great collection and history
Beautiful large museum, where I have heard a magnificent concert and have seen impressive images. Canova was very special ..
Depending on the exhibition, a good choice (look ahead to see what's going on). We had the topic "Silk Road" very interesting.
What a beautiful place. Very easily accessible, near the center. Very worthwhile.
A little expensive ; pity the translation in different foreign language is restricted
Branch of the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg with periodic exhibitions from St. Petersburg, as well as Contemporary Dutch Art
In itself a wonderful concept. The little brother / sister of Hermitage in St Petersburg. The remarkable thing was that in the Rembrandt year there was only a sketch of him from Russia!
While there are quite a number of Rembrandts there.
I thought Dutchmen of the golden age were a wonderful exhibition.
Fabulous visit to see the Rebrant pictures - and so close up. Staff are brilliant and so knowledgeable.
The museum was fine. The restaurant, however, is not. We wanted to go there for lunch but they only have 2 things. Tomato soup and a croquette sandwich.
We chose a sandwich with 2 croquettes. We expected a sandwich per croquette. 1 sandwich with 2 croquettes costs 8 euros. Bit on the expensive side.
Finally been inside. Beautiful building. Art Treasures exhibition had very beautiful pieces, anything and everything. Nice but not entirely to my taste. But at the next beautiful exhibition that appeals to me, I will definitely go again.
I really liked the museum. Informative, nicely done, with audio guide.
Nice big museum. Very busy despite timeslot that you can enter.
Both the building and the collection and exhibition: super! Really recommended.
