Very nice exhibitions about the Golden Age in Amsterdam and the Treasury of the Hermitage. Very worthwhile. Have there been two hours twice. With museum annual card 2.50 additional payment. Other 25.00. That way you will earn your card back soon.
Beautiful museum in a beautiful building at the most beautiful place in Amsterdam
Beautiful museum too big for 1 day will definitely go back
Fantastic beautiful museum, topper of Amsterdam, beautiful changing collections. You can have a great lunch there extensive museum shop. Beautiful informative audio tour available with your visit, included in the entrance fee!
Beautiful temporary exhibition about the Golden Age. Too bad, behind the desk was an unfriendly woman. Not a calling card for the museum. Entrance fee is hefty.
Superb
Love this place
Exhibition of jewelry from the Hermitage of St. Petersburg. Incredible beauty jewelry, toilet articles, clothing, portraits.
Nice place full of history and interesting exhibits. Totally worth the effort to visit.
What a fantastically beautiful museum with tastefully decorated exhibitions.
There was no Rembrand, but the sculpture exhibit was magnificent
Beautiful museum with a nice selection of artworks!
A great museum with a lot to see. The particularly interesting exhibitions of the Dutch Golden Age and the Russian Revolution
Interesting museum with some interesting exhibitions
Interesting paintings, bit chaotic inside. So big but not so many things to see.
Very nice location where all kinds of activities take place. I myself attended both an exhibition and conference!
A beautiful newly decorated old building. Beautiful exhibitions. Very friendly staff. Internal restaurant.
Very good to begin to know Dutch art, its meaning and importance.
Great museum. There are always interesting and well prepared exhibitions. We have never been bored !
The info is messy and the format unclear. If you have forgotten your glasses, you cannot read anything. The layout and information in the Loo was very clear and also ran in sequence.
Beautiful exhibition "De Schatkamer". Beautifully designed, actually good lighting and not too busy. Cranach, Van der Weyden and so on.
The Hermitage is perhaps one of the most innovative classical art museums in Western Europe.
If you re worried that the Rijksmuseum might be a bit on the stuffy side for your group or if you ve already made the Museumplein rounds stroll on down to the Amstel and soak up the ever-rotating temporary exhibitions in this brilliant institution, arriving to us all the way from their sister museum in St Petersburg, Russia.
As an added bonus, you ll learn about the surprisingly deep historical ties between Russia and the Netherlands, and how Amsterdam inspired the construction of St Petersburg itself!
Closer by than St. Petersburg, but the elite in art.
Beautiful place. The history of the building itself, and the art that now hangs there. Definitely worth a visit.
Just visited a big exibition called 1917 Romanovs and revolution. It was very interesting there!
Excellent experience with the Romanov jewellery today
It is great to admire the paintings of the old masters.
Great place with a intimate restaurant in the garden. Both modern and more classic expositions and next to the river Amstel amd the Skinny Bridge. A great place to visit while visiting Amsterdam.
I'm glad to finally come to this museum since I'm not sure when I'll be able to go to At Petersburg! It was truly amazing to see the Dutch masters exhibit though we had to pay 10euros more and book a time slot with our Museumcard/iamsterdam cards. The paintings were truly awesome to behold. There's also good English explanation provided as well.
Definitely highly recommend this museum. It's also quite spacious and not as crowded as Rijksmuseum, especially in the permanent exhibit areas of the museum where you can enjoy other Dutch masters in peace and quiet There is lift access but a bit difficult to find the lift.
There was a huge room with guild paintings assembled for the first time together. That was magnificent. However, it was a bloody pain in the ass to visit because they had some kinda roving light show going on with lights moving and dimming at will so it was difficult to read the explanation and look at the painting properly. Sometimes I hate it when curators try to be 'cute'. The paintings are so damn huge as it is, I need full lighting to see them properly in their magnificence!!!
Very good museum
Lines and all aspects of planning and rest space, rest and look again
The Hermitage Amsterdam is one of the most beautiful museums in Amsterdam. As a private company without state support, the Hermitage always manages to present a beautiful exhibition. Special temporary exhibitions such as about the Romanovs and Dutch masters. The first floor is a bit narrow, An made it rather too narrow. Museum year card is valid, but provides discount instead of free entrance.
This museum is a tiny part of the Winter Palace in St Petersburg, which I have visited many times. Though on a much smaller scale, Hermitage Amsterdam gives a glimpse on a rich collection and Russian cultural heritage. As museum prices are quite hefty in NL for non-museum cards holders, I found handy 50% off coupons in Spoor magazine (if you have an NS subscription). As wishful thinking Neva s menu should be adjusted to Russian -French fusion, adding a range of typical salats & deserts like Napoleon cake.
Delicious enjoyed Jazz and cocktails at jazz @ theplantage.
Beautiful exhibitions, nice museum. If you want to know something about Russian history, you have to go to the Hermitage
Good exhibitions that you certainly do not encounter everywhere.
Overly curated. The audio tour isn't really optional and if you don't want/need their perspectives and prefer to browse the laser light show then seems pretty silly in my opinion.
Beautiful Museum not very well known many changing exhibitions and free with museum card. Certainly worth repeating in the future. Definitely come back again.
Very interesting exebition on the Russian Royal family. Recommended.
Nice but a bit expensive, and overcrowded. Recomend visiting on weekdays.
I find this museum very fascinating. Beautiful collection. well worth it.
I like this museum, probably is not the bigest, but the enviroment is good and the expositions too. The staff can give you extra information about the paintings, and that is so nice.
Beautiful entourage with beautiful exhibition of paintings that would otherwise not be seen in the Netherlands.
Very nice museum, very modern and perfectly accessible to people in wheelchairs. The permanent exhibition on Dutch painters is very well done and provides a good understanding of the history of the Netherlands. Entrance is a bit expensive but the museum is worth the detour.
Beautiful reading and exhibition of the jewels of the Tsars and Tsarina's through the ages
The museum is inviting and welcoming. The collection is supreme.
Nice place in Amsterdam, the open air movie was not for me.
Without interest ! Only come if you have a specific exhibition to see. Any building, away from the water.
Beautiful context that welcomes interesting exhibitions. Entrance from a garden where you can also enjoy something.
Hermitage is well cared for. Always interesting collections. Unfortunately, parking in Amsterdam is very expensive.
