Very nice exhibitions about the Golden Age in Amsterdam and the Treasury of the Hermitage. Very worthwhile. Have there been two hours twice. With museum annual card 2.50 additional payment. Other 25.00. That way you will earn your card back soon.

The info is messy and the format unclear. If you have forgotten your glasses, you cannot read anything. The layout and information in the Loo was very clear and also ran in sequence.

The Hermitage is perhaps one of the most innovative classical art museums in Western Europe.

If you re worried that the Rijksmuseum might be a bit on the stuffy side for your group or if you ve already made the Museumplein rounds stroll on down to the Amstel and soak up the ever-rotating temporary exhibitions in this brilliant institution, arriving to us all the way from their sister museum in St Petersburg, Russia.

As an added bonus, you ll learn about the surprisingly deep historical ties between Russia and the Netherlands, and how Amsterdam inspired the construction of St Petersburg itself!

Great place with a intimate restaurant in the garden. Both modern and more classic expositions and next to the river Amstel amd the Skinny Bridge. A great place to visit while visiting Amsterdam.

I'm glad to finally come to this museum since I'm not sure when I'll be able to go to At Petersburg! It was truly amazing to see the Dutch masters exhibit though we had to pay 10euros more and book a time slot with our Museumcard/iamsterdam cards. The paintings were truly awesome to behold. There's also good English explanation provided as well.

Definitely highly recommend this museum. It's also quite spacious and not as crowded as Rijksmuseum, especially in the permanent exhibit areas of the museum where you can enjoy other Dutch masters in peace and quiet There is lift access but a bit difficult to find the lift.

There was a huge room with guild paintings assembled for the first time together. That was magnificent. However, it was a bloody pain in the ass to visit because they had some kinda roving light show going on with lights moving and dimming at will so it was difficult to read the explanation and look at the painting properly. Sometimes I hate it when curators try to be 'cute'. The paintings are so damn huge as it is, I need full lighting to see them properly in their magnificence!!!

The Hermitage Amsterdam is one of the most beautiful museums in Amsterdam. As a private company without state support, the Hermitage always manages to present a beautiful exhibition. Special temporary exhibitions such as about the Romanovs and Dutch masters. The first floor is a bit narrow, An made it rather too narrow. Museum year card is valid, but provides discount instead of free entrance.

This museum is a tiny part of the Winter Palace in St Petersburg, which I have visited many times. Though on a much smaller scale, Hermitage Amsterdam gives a glimpse on a rich collection and Russian cultural heritage. As museum prices are quite hefty in NL for non-museum cards holders, I found handy 50% off coupons in Spoor magazine (if you have an NS subscription). As wishful thinking Neva s menu should be adjusted to Russian -French fusion, adding a range of typical salats & deserts like Napoleon cake.

Very nice museum, very modern and perfectly accessible to people in wheelchairs. The permanent exhibition on Dutch painters is very well done and provides a good understanding of the history of the Netherlands. Entrance is a bit expensive but the museum is worth the detour.
