Great salon. They take good care of you. Would definitely recommend them

This was my first post quarantine visit to the salon. I was really impressed with how they ensured the salon was safe and healthy for everyone, while still keeping a welcoming and warm environment. Down to the smallest details, like placing helpful and welcoming signage/floor mats, continuously cleaning, hand sanitizer throughout, keeping appropriate distances between stations-it was fantastic! They really went above beyond and that shows what an exceptional salon they are.

My stylist took so much time to make sure I received the exact look I wanted. The place is beautiful, the staff is wonderful, and I'm thrilled with my results.

I m always greeted warmly by the front reception staff! ....and, I walk in with my hair looking like a mop (because I don t get around to making time for my own haircuts..lol), only to walk out looking incredible! Magical!

Headlines the Salon provides the most amazing experience, from start to finish. Every single person there makes you feel like you re part of the family. They know you and greet you with the sweetest smiles, pamper you with drinks, and provide the most excellent, top notch service. I am so grateful to have found Devin (my hairstylist) because she is incredibly talented and sweet and makes my appointments not only fun, but anxiety-free. I 100% trust her and the salon in general. Quality people, quality service, and quality products!

Worst experience ever. Called to get a smoothing anti-friz treatment. The person over the phone told me it would be a couple of hours, I got down there on time and 3 1/2 hours later I finally finished only to be told that the reason it felt so frizzy and looked so bad is that I had to wash my hair. Poor communication and a terrible experience. I m really unhappy with the results even after a day now.

All staff were friendly and helpful. Salon is sparkling clean and everyone is very respectful with social distancing. I felt completely safe, but still experienced the personal attention and wonderful service I always get. Summer is miracle worker and brought my blonde back to life! She is always up eat but easy going and I trust her completely.

I ve been going here for years even since the old location. I drive across town still even though I moved just to come here. I see Sean, but everyone is super knowledgeable and they keep up to date on trends as well.

The salon is really nice as well with a lounge area where they wash your hair and they have complimentary drinks while you wait and get your haircut.

Love it here!

LJ and her support team is amazing! Love their hair Oribe products - my hair has grown several more inches and less damage hair from highlights! Their hospitality is off the charts! Worth a try.. you get hooked!

LJ at Headlines The Salon was wonderful! She listened to exactly what I wanted and was able to turn my hair dreams into reality. I've been going to Headlines now for 20 years and to Connie for 15 years. Headlines is a great salon and Connie takes the time to help me figure out what will work for me.

I love headlines because they treat you like a star. You will be welcomed with a drink of your choice followed by a thorough consultation with your stylist. The hair wash and head massage is very relaxing and the stylist are top notch. There is a really great vibe and everyone works as a team so you really feel looked after and pampered.

The entire staff at The Headlines Salon made my first experience beyond incredible! I loved everything about the salon and can t say enough good things about Tori Peck. She is the absolute sweetest and very professional. I am beyond happy with my blonde from Tori and am looking forward to my next visit at The Headlines Salon.

Great salon! Wonderful stylists and staff makes you feel very welcome!

Very clean social distancing felt very safe in this facility.

My hair stylist of 8 years had just called and told me he was moving to Hawaii the day before our next appointment. Frantically, I googled salons and hair stylists trying to come up to speed on who is who and what is what. This googling brought me to Headlines The Salon. I booked an appointment online and was assigned to Rachel for the time slot I wanted. I showed up, was warmly greeted and shown around the salon. The greeter asked if I would like wine, tea, or diet coke while I waited for Rachel. Rachel greeted me and showed me to her booth. She listened very attentively as I described how I'm used to having my hair cut, asked me a few questions to clarify, and off we were!

Before Rachel began the actual cutting, I was shampooed and given a hot towel wrap on my face. This was very relaxing.

She then proceeded to cut my hair exactly the way I wanted it!

So, I'm already booked for my next appointment with her.

I'm happy and my former hair stylist is in Hawaii.

What could be bad?

The rare combination of a great environment with all the amenities, PLUS truly skilled stylists. My girl Devin is the BEST I've ever found, I have referred all of my friends to her. No one will care more about your hair, and she asks a ton of questions to be really clear about meeting your goals. She excels at color and is the only person I've ever trusted enough to go a little bit blonde (and she nailed it!). She's so knowledgeable and has excellent judgment when it comes to suggestions. She's also a wonderful person who will put you right at ease.

Summer Labayen has been my stylist for over 8 years so when she announced she was relocating to Headlines the salon, of course I followed her! I had a baby 5 months ago and was feeling incredibly frumpy. . . I was wanting to update my new mom look and I'm so glad I did it before our family holiday pictures. I went into my appointment feeling terrible about my hair and left feeling confident and chique! Summer is not only a super talented colorist, but she's a hair cutting genius! I always bring hair inspo pictures to my appointment and then Summer puts her own spin on them to cater directly to my hair and it always comes out amazing! I completely trust her with my hair and I always leave my appointment feeling great about the way my hair looks! Aside from her expertise, she's super sweet and so trendy! If you're looking for a new stylist, I would highly recommend Summer!

Headlines is the best salon I ve ever been to. I don t have a regular stylist because I don t color my hair and have a pretty simple cut but all of the gals I ve been to, everyone is so sweet and talented. During COVID, the salon is very careful and takes all precautionary steps to make people feel comfortable and safe.

From the moment you book your appointment on the phone you know you re getting the best customer service. Starting with the front desk... smiles all around, very kind and warm welcomes. When you look through the Salon you see all of the stylist are professional, well groomed, and happy to be behind they re chair.

Courtney is my stylist. Which I am sure all are amazing at what they do, but I defiantly lucked out with her. She s a great personality with lots to talk about if you choose to chat. She takes her time. Knows how to execute what you want. Defiantly a master at her craft.

I adore both owners Gale and David. Super nice people. And you can tell they take care of their team which I think is so important.

Edwin my stylist is excellent and a talented hair colorist. He exceeded my expectations and even consulted me with a better look that I am extremely happy about. He was so professional and I felt extremely comfortable with him. Also I want to add that everyone in the salon was professional and friendly.

Summer does beautiful blonde highlights. She really listens carefully to make sure you get the results you re looking for.

Best hair and makeup experience I have ever had. I had my hair and makeup done for my friend's wedding. Renee did such a great job on my hair. The shampoo was the most relaxing shampoo I have ever had. I had my hair done at 10:00am, and it stayed beautiful even through the wedding, which started at 5:00pm. Ceb (Sabrina) was a master makeup artist. The makeup she did for me was the most beautiful I have ever looked. I cried taking it off because it was so perfect. I looked great in all the photos. Both Renee and Ceb were so friendly, and our conversation was so natural and genuine. I wish I lived in Encinitas so I can continue going to Headlines. I would recommend this place to anyone!

A fun salon with sweet front staff and interesting haircutters and haircuts all around. Men and women young and old go to this shop. Really like Nicole who does a fantastic job cutting my hair. She knows that i cannot fuss with my hair and it is a completely wash and wear style or a sleep on it and brush cut.

I visit every year for six weeks and I always have Sean style my hair! He does a excellent job!

I'm huge on customer service and this place in incredible from start to finish. The warm friendly greeting by the front desk happily surprised me! A sweet woman walked me through the entire salon, showing me the products they use and why they like them, she showed me the dimly lit rinse area (no talking which I loved because I used that time to meditate and relax while I sat with toner before my wash), the area to work if I needed my computer, and where the bathroom was located as well. Then I was introduced to my stylist Johana. She was this trendy stunning woman with the coolest hat and style - basically how I want to look everyday. She was super nice and so helpful trying to figure out what kind of blond I was looking for. It can definitely be a struggle to know exactly what you want so I appreciated all her investigating into what shade, brightness, roots, etc. And when all was said and done - she was spot on with it! Exactly what I wanted in every single way! I couldn't stop smiling and flipping my hair - so much so that the owner Gayle (literally I've never met a single owner of any salon I've been to) came over to compliment my new hair, introduced herself, and gave a free sample of Oribe dry volume spray - wowwwww I left feeling like a goddess and will definitely be back to see Jo and will highly recommend her and Headlines to all my friends

I absolutely LOVE my cut and color by Amanda! I have super fine and thin hair and am never sure how to manage it. And when I explained what I was looking for in terms of color, she hit the nail on the head! The salon is very nice with an upscale look but also with a warm and inviting team. They walk the talk about great customer service and deliver excellent results. I m very pleased with my results....every time!!

Christy continues to amaze me with her different techniques and suggestions for my hair. I completely trust her with all my hair care and hair transformation. During this time of crisis, we can't help but feel sad. So when salons are re-opening, I really appreciate the difference that it made me feel after my appointment with her. This little self care brings extra boost to my self-esteem. Oh how I miss our girl-talks too! Just the support and checking in makes a difference.
The Salon is also following the guidelines for the safety of everyone. The owner is as beautiful and stylish as always every time I see her and everyone in the salon still offers a great customer service and you know that they are smiling under their masks as I am smiling back too! Kim did an amazing job re-shaping my eyebrows. I have to admit, I was nervous at first because it was my first time visiting Kim, but let me say this - She is simply AWESOME. Kim took her time, showed me exactly what she was going to do and then shaped my brows. Couldn't be happier, thank you KIm!

Love...love...love Headlines! It has such a warm and friendly atmosphere and the stylists are top notch! It's like going to an A-Lister LA salon in the middle of Encinitas. LJ has been my long time hair stylist. She is so talented and I will see nobody else for my hair! My color looks so natural that others never think it's colored. She is true artist. I also need to give props to her assistant Bailey who is also very talented.
My son and hubby both have thier hair cut by Sean. Sean is literally the first person who can cut my son's hair correctly. He has longer hair and it's always been challenging for any stylist to cut it so it doesn't look cut like a girls cut. He's a model and it has to always look good and have that "un-done look." Sean takes his time and nails it every time!!! My son drives from LA to have Sean cut it.

Love it. The whole place has a very spa like vibe. Even the bathrooms are relaxing!

Best service I ve ever had. I was in town fo a meeting and needed a last minute cut. The salon was busy but able to get me last minute. Summer had a spot open and she was awesome. She can joke and talk smack but stay professional. Great haircut, great service! Thanks Summer

Great Salon in Encinitas. Staff is friendly and helpful and will make you feel like you are being spoiled. Nicole is wonderful and gave great input on make my hairstyle just right.

I am so happy to have found Headlines. I move out here over a year ago and have been in desperate need of stylist! Alex is amazing. My hair was a mess when I walked in. Absolutely loooveee this place! Overall it is so modern and clean, and all the employees are super friendly and accommodating. Specifically I book appointments with Alexandra Walls, she is the BEST! She gets my hair absolutely perfect every single time!! Before I found her I hated getting my hair done because I felt like stylists were too rough & my hair would just get tangled and get ripped out, but she is always super gentle and gets the color and cut perfect every single time. I would recommend her to anyone!
