Unique hotel location and main building for San Jose. Historic mansion with add-on room wings and dining. The setting is in a the neighborhood, so away from most business locales. Comfortable beds and decent pool. I'd stay again.

Amazing historical hotel! Great service. Excellent breakfast. Has a frisbee golf range, dog park, and multiple buildings. Really interesting history. Great location if you are in San Jose.
Comfortable beds and good water pressure in spacious rooms.

There are many reasons I stay at the Dolce Hayes Mansion when I visit San Jose. Of course, it is beautiful and oh so comfortable and luxurious, and the food is incredible, but the way they treat their guests stands out. I don t feel I am treated as a customer; I am truly treated as a guest. All of the staff goes out of their way to make sure I am having a pleasant visit. I have only stayed here a few times over the past several years, but I am amazed at the number of employees who have remembered me, even though I have been only one of hundreds of guests they see each day. They have stopped what they were doing to say welcome back . In our impersonal world where often customers are treated as only a conduit to profit, I can t help but think that the staff at the Hayes Mansion treat their guests in the same manner that the Hayes family would have treated their guests more than a century ago. I would (and do) highly recommend it to anyone who is lucky enough to visit San Jose.

This place is lovely. It's a historic building and there are two restaurants, also a gym and a pool. There may be a sauna on the gym but I didn't look for it. It's a nice gym! Room service doesn't cost more than eating in the restaurant. The food is wonderful! Mrs. Hayes was a friend of Mrs. Winchester, the widow who built the Winchester Mystery House. But the Hayes Mansion is NOT haunted. Dont worry - I would know. Hayes Mansion would be a nice place for a romantic getaway. They do have a conference center and a lot of businesses hold retreats there, but the rooms are private and you can order room service.

Got a great rate from the Hotel Tonight app for a last minute reservation. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the grounds and rooms are perfect. The gym is medium-sized, and wasn't busy around 8pm when we went. There are two hot tubs - one outside with the pool, and one that can be accessed through the locker rooms in the gym. A wonderful experience and I will definitely be booking again.

Bathroom needs new faucet and shower head. Furnishings in room need to be up dated. Room service and food was great. Pool was sparkling clean. A good size for lap swimming. The staff was extremely helpful and very polite. The landscaping was well taken care and beautiful.

The building is beautiful, the room was spacious and had everything I needed. I especially liked the shoe shiner and empty fridge for storage. Had a company party in one of their meeting halls and it was a blast!

I really enjoyed the stay at this hotel and snatched a nice deal too. The gym is very well built out and the outdoor areas are super nice. The rooms are a bit older but very comfortable and clean. The breakfast was very good except the pancakes which were lake cardboard. Would do it again :)

This is one of my favorite places to stay in California. My daughter and I have spent many nights here so we could play at Happy Hollow. The service is great and the people are awesome. Some of the rooms are a bit outdated but that's kind of the idea. Everything else about it makes up for that small downside. It's getting more popular now so a lot of the time the rooms are out of my family's budget.

The photos make the hotel look wayyy nicer than it is. By far one of the most dated hotels I have ever been to and it felt unclean. Also our bed was a full and I could hear the person in the room next to us coughing.

I guess I would have liked to give them better ratings but ever since the check in it has been nothing but underwhelming. At first people were having casual conversations and left me standing for an uncomfortable amount of time. When I check in they didn't tell me that I was getting a double bed setup, they just booked me in that way. What really made me rate them below a 3/5 is the airco issue. Room is blowing at 84f. Airco is set to 72. They sent a tech who presses the temp button up and down and then stands under the airco to see if it gets cooler... Go figure. Anyways, it didn't. He left telling me it's broken and I should tell the front desk... Or something. I call telling them I am clammy and I need a room with working airco. They said they'd get that done right away. It's now an hour later... Had to call again. Front desk says that they were busy earlier "but I will get the people on it and I will call back in 10 to 15". No. This is no bueno given that this place touts luxury. Wouldn't recommend.

Favorite place to stay in San Jose area. Feels like a country place right inside the city. Wonderful walk and running path.

Nice ambiance. Restaurant is only for breakfast. Lunch and dinner are via the lounge but they have good offerings and you can eat outside on the patio area. Nice.

Timely and friendly service. Buffet was wonderful, fresh foods and very clean. Absolutely loved the champagne brunch, bottomless mimosas!! Gorgeous setting and grounds to walk and enjoy the sunshine. I would say 13+ years old. Great for birthdays and gatherings!

Stayed here on a work trip. Nice rooms and friendly staff. A few places could use updated but nothing major. Kind of in a strange place for a hotel - mostly residential area. Overall, very comfortable with great landscaping. Good place to get away to at the end of the day.

If you travel for business and require a bill, I recommend staying at a Marriott, Hilton etc if you book third party. They put their rooms on third party sites at really discounted rates and if you book this way, they refuse to give you a bill for your expense records. Avoid them as they were extremely rude and the rooms are extremely outdated with 20+ year old carpet. Avoid yourself the hassle and stay at a chain.

High-quality brunch and a beautiful setting, with the price tag to match (one star removed for this). The quality of the food is definitely worth the money and the service was quite attentive, consistently filling our champagne flutes with mimosa and our mugs with fresh coffee. It's just that the tepid temperature of things like prime rib, eggs benedict and sausage made me feel like we paid too much. All in all though, the quality and availability of expensive products like dungeonous crab and succulent cocktail shrimp make it a brunch we're always happy to repeat.

Still providing amazing meals during Covid. I'm not exactly sure what magic they are using to translate the cozy ambiance into the food, but it takes me back to all those cozy nights, in a dimly lit clubhouse for what felt like was just for my family and I. I wish I could keep this secret, but it must be shared. The staff is always so kind. And they are always so accommodating and lovely. Please. Take them into consideration the next time you need an exceptional meal at home to fill the aching of home cooking without the work. I love you forever and always. We even have a painting of your matchbox to remind us of all the exceptional nights we shared there.

My boyfriend and I staid there for a wedding on the weekend, it is an older building but friendly staff and we enjoyed the pool because it was nice and quiet. We also checked out the gym , which we loved really good workout area especially for a hotel. After we went to spa , we only got the 30 min tension relief because it was very booked but it was amazing and they did a very good job. Make sure if you are booking spa package do it in advance because there is lots of weddings at this hotel and it gets booked fast. Besides that I had a good stay only bad thing I could say is that I wish they had healthier options on menu, and more gluten free options. Before I left I left my Louis Vuitton Purse there in my room, and with the help of Security Manager "Anthony" , he located it and made sure to notify me right away and is getting it shipped to BC. Thank you so much , and we will be back again :)

Worst experience ever! We used to make a trip up every summer to the Hayes Mansion and loved it! Now we are reluctant to ever return. We arrived a kind reception where we were informed they were under renovation. (Would have liked to receive a call ahead warning us). Bar closed, pool closed, jacuzzi closed, restaurant closed and that is just the beginning. The receptionist was kind enough to place us in a room away from the construction (same building but in the other side). We went to our room #174 and began to unpack. Went to the sink to grab a glass of water. Took a drink and set the glass on the counter. After a few seconds, a bunch of green and yellow chunks were floating to the top. YUCK!!! (See picture in review). I then ran the faucet for a bit to clear the lines. Got a new glass and filled it with water again. After the milky water settled, all of that nasty gunk was staring right back at me. We called the front desk and alerted them of the issue. They then recommended me to not drink the water... great timing. They said to go down the hall and just refill a container to use in the room...what?!?! For any hotel that would be unacceptable let alone a $170 room after a %20 discount for being off peak. We argued on the phone about this and then the receptionist said you can just go buy water bottles from the vending machine. Are you serious? We asked to speak to the manager and she said there isn't one. Trying to get her to see this situation from a guests point of view, we asked her how we are going to shower, brush our teeth or even wash our hands. She kept suggesting we buy water bottles from the vending machine. We weren't going anywhere with this staff member so we asked if there was anyone that can help us. Stephanie a lead? began helping us and finally offered to move us to another room. She checked out the room before we made the switch across the hall to room #171. We received a 20% for the trouble and she went on her way. After all of that hubbub I was still thirsty. I went to go find this filtered water Stefanie told me about. Searching the first floor (second was under construction) I couldn't find it anywhere. A kind security guard crossed my path so I asked if he knew the location of this elusive water station. He said it was on the 2nd floor and would take me there since it was closed off to guests. Making it to the top of the stairs he stopped in his tracks and pointed to the wall that was now empty. It was removed lol. To wrap this story up, the TV wasn't connecting to the cable so we called the front desk and Stephanie answered! I didn't bother with the water since we all know how that would end... she gave us a 50% discount and called it a day. I am a reasonable person and hope y'all who made it to the end of this lengthy review can find the sarcasm interlaced within this.

Fantastic place. Great park across the parking lot. Only complaint is the restaurant is not always open and with nothing else close you will need 30 minute walk or a taxi ride to find something
