Every year, my brother in law has a King Cake shipped to us in Dallas. Never EVER disappoint... Absolutely Delicious!!! I plan to visit next year!

The bakery smells like a little bit of heaven. Everything was delicious but the praline bars just melt in your mouth. Worth the drive.

Recommended to us by a family member. On visit from BR, we stopped in here to try some of the famous turtle cookies; they were delicious. The sugar cookie was perfect, and the chocolate mousse wasn't overly sweet. Also tried the mini eclair while in there, and it was perfection.

I'm giving them five stars because I have absolutely love their king cakes they are my favorite. Technically they are my second favorite but since McKenzie's king cakes no longer exist they have now bumped up to my favorite next I like Randazzo's and there's a bakery on the West Bank called Antoine's who sells a good king cake I am a king cake snob and I will not just eat one from anywhere. Although I will say when we went into the store last weekend I felt the woman at the counter who waited on us could have been a little more pleasant when we asked for a king cake always simply needed was a we don't have that and more sold out answer and in a very condescending tone she said we don't have any plan king cakes left we're technically supposed to be closing at 4 so we're sold out I know it was 15 minutes to 4 when we walked in the door and we knew there was a possibility that they wouldn't have a king cake and I feel like no ma'am we're out of that would have been sufficed without the attitude she threw behind the we're closing at 4 I probably wouldn't shop there no more just because of the way that she talked to me and my family because behind us there was still a line out the door but I like their king cakes so unfortunately I'll have to shop here because they're my favorite whether their employees are rude or not

Yum yum yum!! Thus place was super busy and I know why. It was a great place to stop on the way to NOLA. I particularly enjoyed the lemon cookies, turtles, and Petit fours.

Pies taste stale, soggy, and just gross. Nothing like Hubig's. Not comparable at all and a real disappointment.

Almond croissant was phenomenal lite and delicious. Went very well with my hot coffee.

Haydel has been good in past but my recent visits have been unsatisfying the latest and likely the last was a bday cake instead of pineapple filling it was stuffed with icing and pieces of pineapple the cake wasn't fresh and the worst part is the icing tasted like chloraseptic so no more haydels for me.

I was excited to try the almond croissant for the high ratings, seems to be decent quality, however I was surprised there was a cream in the croissant, I am used to an almond paste, so was somewhat dissapointed.

I read all the great reviews on line before I stopped by. The place smells great from the second you walk in the door. I asked one of the ladies behind the counter if they make all their things in the same area? I have a peanut / nut allergies. Unfortunately, they do. I didn't want to take a chance. I gave five stars because there was a steady stream of customers going here and this many people can't be wrong.

I bought a birthday cake today and it was very dry. I love Haydel's bakery but today's cake was dry.
