DoubleTree Hotel, Trader Dukes Restaraunt Review

If I could leave zero stars I would. I made a brunch reservation for Father s day, showed up early only to be sat and wait for 40 minutes. 40 minutes with zero acknowledgement from any waitstaff, absolutely nothing. Servers and I believe a floor manager walking by multiple times while we sat with no water, coffee or even enough place settings. While my two year old got antsy and hungry two tables who were sat AFTER we were, had their orders taken and coffee and water delivered. I have never experienced such poor service and lack of organization. Even being short staffed there was so reason for the extremely poor level of service. Two thumbs down.

Excellent food and service. I greatly appreciated how knowledgeable the staff was about the food and beer, especially since most of it was locally sourced. Best restaurant connect to a Doubletree that I've ever been to.

I went in today and ordered the Eggs Bene - it was so delicious also, Thanks to my awesome server Shannon S. She smiled lots and made me feel very welcomed, also she was very attentive and checked back regularly to make sure the food meet our needs. She is a very good representative to this hotel/restaurant. I will becoming back.

$28 for a Buffett consisting of salad greens, choice between 2 dressings, and a make-your-own sandwich bar with turkey, roast beef, tuna, cheddar/American cheese slices, mayo, mustard, and lettuce? No thank you. Waitstaff was great but not good enough to overcome the what should have been a $15 meal tops.

This restaurant needs some work. It's like they aren't prepared to actually serve meals to diners. Little things added up to a mediocre experience: There was no signage to help locate the restaurant in the building, we had to ask for silverware, there wasn't any ice in my soft drink, they had "run out" of certain entrees. The menu lacked some of the things I would expect from a pub (like nachos or loaded baked potatoes). Outdoor seating seemed like an awesome idea on a perfect Vermont summer evening, but you're basically abutting the parking lot and facing Williston Road. Occasionally travelers wheel their luggage past you. The food served was adequate, but I felt like $62 for three people and no alcohol was overpaying for a mediocre experience.

The upgrades on this hotel compared to beofe is amazing. It s located in a great location and the rooms are very clean and comfortable.

Very disappointed. Not happy to hear several times that older people don't like change. Very limited menus, didn't seem too healthy. Will seriously miss Trader Dukes.

Breakfast is AMAZING if you go on the days Scott is cooking. Otherwise the food is average at best, and way too expensive. The service is always really good though.

Being out of staters; we wanted to try somewhere new to eat. The wait on Valentine s Day was hours for other places, should have known when this place had no wait that there would be a reason why.

Upon arriving we were seated, which then took 10 minutes before a waitress came over. She finally came over, couldn t tell you her name cause she didn t even introduce herself (Asian girl with a top knot bun ) she takes our alcoholic drink orders and quickly walks away before we could even spit out that we wanted appetizers. Y all we watched this girl walk around the restaurant, come in and out of the kitchen for FIFTEEN MINUTES!! No drink..she doesn t even come back to take our order. Until finally another waitress realized that we were a little distressed and Came over to say oh can I take your food order? Which she then again takes our drink order too. (Still no sight of the original waitress) this girl comes out fairly quickly and at least gives us our drink. All while the manager is too busy in his gossip sessions with all his friends coming in to realize that his waitresses SUCKED and that even other tables were waiting for their orders to be taken. SO UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!

We finally receive our food, which is Luke warm at this point. And at this time we knew calling someone over to complain would probably be another 20 minute ordeal. My s/o had fish and chips(which he couldn t even finish it was so undercooked). I had the teriyaki chicken sandwich. Mean while the other waitress finally comes back to check on us. Like girl, where you been???? When she returned to the table she would ask us if we needed anything, before we were even finishing a sentence she was walking away, and then would take FOREVER to return with item we asked for, it took more time for her to come back to the table ten times then just having a few extra seconds to stick around and hear what else we needed. She should have been in the back getting more training. Truthfully. And maybe the cooks some more education on how to handle fish since my s/o spent the next 24 hours with FOOD POISONING AND VOMITING ALL DAY!!!! We left our number on a receipt with a number for someone to contact us in regards to how disappointed we were, still not a call. I also caught wind of TWO other tables that were there complaining as well! Will never ever return. Gross.

Food wasn't worth the money... Service wasn't worth a tip.

Excellent service from entrance to exit and the food is flavorful. Loved the lamb and you can request for the salads to be a side sadjadpour instead of a shared appetizer.

Wow at the burger here. I ordered it med-well and it came out perfectly bursting with flavor. Sorry I don't have a photo... Camera is not functioning

Good solid hotel restaurant with friendly staff. Very helpful.

Meal was good. Our server Ashley was fabulous. I would go back just to talk with her.

Great place for a quick bite before heading out for the day. Had breakfast here my first day in Burlington and it was fantastic! The food was amazing and so was the service. Alyssa, you're awesome!

Much better than expected. I haven't been since it was renovated. Dinner was great and I was surprised that my drinks were outstanding! I'll definitely come back for another meal. Nice decor too. Pleasantly surprised.

Today was the second time we have chosen Duke's Public House for a family event. Both events were managed to perfection, 50th Wedding Anniversary and Funeral Reception today. The staff is willing and able think outside of the box and works with any request the customer has. Everything was taken care of and there was nothing that I needed to do. The food was delicious and the staff working our event was educated to the situation and even knew the name of my mother in law and our family members. I would give 10 stars if it was possible. A heart felt thank you from our family.

Ouch. Understaffed is the excuse of the night, 10 minutes before greeting, over 25 for food. Bring back Trader Dukes.

We go out to eat ALOT and I don t usually write reviews but we were so pleased with our experience last night at Trader Dukes. Our waitress was so friendly and personable, she gave special attention to my picky order and our meal was outstanding. Thanks, Kimmy (that s the name our receipt said) for going above and beyond! We will be back!

Visited on a Saturday night. Although is was not packed, the service was extraordinary slow and uncoordinated. Food was obviously sitting out a long time before served (Beef strips on salad were cold). The food was mediocre at best, the ingredients for the salad were mostly out of a can.

The updated Former Trader Dukes by Hilton now Dukes Public House by Marriott is much much much better than the former. This is a hotel restaurant so you have guests as well as locals that come enjoy the bar area or dining room. Moderate menu with various soups, sandwiches, meals, burger etc. Always good and friendly service.

Had the worse experience! Food wasn't the greatest. Split check with Friend and I got charged the full amout. She got charged her portion. Went back to restaurant and its been a fight to get the charges reversed. Went there March first and still fighting over charges. then friend got charged again. Bill was $83 plus tip. I was told they would refund total amount and haven't seen that yet.

Those kettle chips and cheese knocked me out of my seat. If you find me pour me another fiddlehead

Food was great you need to eat and enjoy this place.

Trader Dukes was very good when we last went, hope it will continue under new management.

I'd heard great things about their brunch so I thought I would check it out. Took a friend to lunch there yesterday and was very disappointed. Staff were great, very accommodating. The food, however, was poor. We ordered salads that were swimming in dressing and not very tasty. We gave up and ordered dessert. My friend ordered apple crisp. Unfortunately, it didn't resemble or taste like apple crisp. I'm afraid I won't be going back.

Not great. Just an expensive version of a hotel chain type restaraunt like Hillton Garden Inn.

Super over priced. Food was ok..nothing to write home about.

This was my 1st visit & probably won't return. One other table there besides ours & they had already been served. We ordered a beer & burger each with fries. Finished our beer & sat for over half an hour with no one asking if we would like another or perhaps explain where our burger was. Finally the meal comes. No fries & no offer for another drink. She did say that the chips on my plate I could eat for no charge while waiting. We were done our meal before the fries came out & would have killed for even a water!! It was just the two of us so don't know why the service was so slow. I will say the burger was very good though.

Very nice hotel restaurant. Good enough that it draws plenty of people who are not hotel guests. We had breakfast and it was very good. Wait staff was attentive and helpful.

Great North Country atmosphere and great service. The food did not amaze me though it was presented well. I ate there with my parents last night and my father and I were both sick to our stomachs all day today. I had a basic Angus cheeseburger and it didn't taste quite right, but as a college student I ate what was given and my stomach and my father's stomach did not cooperate with the beef served here.

Didn't realize this was part of Delta Hotel. Came here for a breakfast meeting. Pancake was really good and portion was huge. Coffee was good, not unlike some of the Courtyard Marriot coffee.

Great Sunday buffet. Staff is friendly. Even when it's busy the staff can always find a booth or table. Food is good quality and a great option for weekend family meals.

It's a great restaurant attached to the Hotel. No wait time on a Saturday night, best little unknown spot!!

Decided not to eat there the atmosphere did not fit our mood.

The food was average, at best. Hamburger was okay. The place was also really slow when we were there and, nevertheless, we waited a long time for the food to come out. When it came, they forgot the soup. Waitress went and got it, but it was room temperature. Waitress disappeared so ten minutes went by before we can ask to get it heated up. Another ten minutes before it gets back from the microwave. So, maybe it was a fluke, but that whole experience was not good.

Waiting to long to get our order taken eggs were over done

My breakfast was subpar but my wife said hers was good. Family friendly, good service. I'd give it another chance.

My boyfriend and I ordered the roasted tomato garlic soup to share, which was decently on time. The soup itself is more like cream cheese, tomatoes, and roasted garlic in a bowl. It was almost the consistency of pesto and felt like it should be used as a sauce with pasta and not served as a "soup".

For our main course, we both ordered salad. Both took about 45 MINUTES to be delivers to our table.

My boyfriend got the house salad with beef. The beef was completely cold, as if the salad had been sitting out the entire time we were waiting.

I ordered the Penne Pasta Salad which the menu describes as "penne pasta on a bed of greens with poached salmon, feta cheese, kalamata olives, and roasted red peppers." The salad cake already tossed in the dressing, and with the salmon shredded to a degree that I could differentiate it from the feat cheese. It all gooed together and was absolutely disgusting. The dressing that they tossed it in smelled terrible. I tried a bite because I'm a good sport and I don't think I'll ever get the taste of onion off my breath.

OVERALL A VERY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE.

Good food, friendly service. Didn't get to try the local beer.

Best kept secret in Burlington! this restaurant consistently delivers the best burgers, great salads and comfort food. Never a wait, great service!

I will say that on Saturday, 9/30/17, we attended a wedding offsite, upon returning to the hotel, we decided to go to the Trader Duke's Bar for a few cocktails. My wife and I were enjoying ourselves, and there was a group that was very rowdy, and being very rude to the bartender (I believe his name was Alex). He handled himself professionally and cut the drunk folks off, and was met with nothing but rude comments towards him. He even had to go as far as having the hotel security on stand-by because although they were cut off, they didn't leave. I had informed him as well as the front desk staff that in my opinion, he handled himself very well and hopefully wouldn't be in trouble for the way those guests acted. He constantly apologized to my wife and I for their and his behavior and we told him he had nothing to apologize for.
Just a stand-up guy dealing with some drunks...

Tasty beer selections and delicious food. The staff is very friendly and the restaurant is super clean. Definitely recommend to try this place if you're in the area.

Was there for an office party. Staff was very attentive. The food was extremely average and not up to temperature.

Great Experience at Trader Dukes. The room is extremely nice and comfortable, looks like a 4 star hotel room! I left an item in the room and the friendly staff sent it to me the same day I reported it missing. Highly recommend!

Food quality and service is excellent every time and atmosphere is very nice. Definitely a cut above the rest.

Our work always has their Christmas/staff parties there. The food is always so delicious and the reception room so nice and staff is great.

Our service was SO SLOW. We had to ask to be waited on, we had to flag down waiter for check because he was chatting it up with someone at the booths, I had to take the credit card TO him so we could leave. I would have liked a refill on my iced tea but we were invisible. Our party of four was NOT impressed.

Staff can be a little gruff, some of them! Was large and stretched out like more old time hotel...facilities were adequate, pool not great not terrible..could stay here again, with discount on room!

The food was great. They made visiting Burlington with my son for college a great experience. The fish and chips were great (not a gamble here). I highly recommend.
