My name is Pete, and a friend of mine Marion who lives in New Jersey ask me if I would help her purchase a new car. I live in Pennsylvania I went on the internet and review the three dealers available in her area. Roland took care of me from the first moment I spoke with him. As the other dealers contacted me back and I spoke with them on the same vehicle with the same options. Roland who's the sales person who took care of me surpassed All my expectations. As being a retired district manager for 28 years. I know the retail business. If I was still currently employed I would definitely look into offering role in the job with the corporation I was employed. Therefore I took a two and a half hour ride to pick up my Marion meet with Roland and he was of the utmost pleasure to deal with. In any industry were always busy. But yeah he found the time to make sure that everything she had questions I was complete I would recommend Hawthorne Chevrolet to anyone I know within the Westwood New Jersey area sincerely Marion and Pete

Not sure my 26 point inspections was accurately do...

Not sure my 26 point inspections was accurately done... Fluids were not replaced, rotated tires not reset. Check Light diagnose = $170 (free at Auto Zone). Shop Supv. never took time to suggested any maintenance issues... I'm sure my 105k car have lots of issues!

i have had nothing but great experiences with this...

i have had nothing but great experiences with this dealership.bought two vehicles from J.R. Gray, he is a great salesman that will not waste your time with high numbers and work his way down to meet your needs, he gives you the best price right up front! i have had 2 service experiences with the service department, mike in service could not be anymore helpful, i was kept informed about all aspects of the progress of the repairs being down, and when it was done and ready for pickup.

I feel so fortunate to have Hawthorne Chevrolet available for servicing my cars over the almost 25 years of leasing a Chevie!

Never a problem with any area of service, dependability and consideration for the customer. I wish it was this easy to deal with all the venues in my life, there would be so much less stress.

This was my first time using Hawthorne, Chevrolet and it was an awesome experience. The gentleman Steve who helped me with getting my car done was very nice and the technician Steve Messner, even came out to meet me, I really appreciated that.

Rude and unprofessional sales staff. (I'm sure not...

Rude and unprofessional sales staff. (I'm sure not all of them, just the one I've got the bad fortune to talk to.)
Although I've visited the dealership before, learning from my previous mistake this time I've tried to inquire about a sales ad they've had on the website and to find out what additional charge would I have to pay.
I was told upfront, that on the $87/mo 24 month lease I would have an additional (approx.) $2700 expense. When I asked the sales person to please break down this expense to me he started listing documentation fee, taxes, registration (no problems here) and window etching ($500), etc... I immediately noted that I will not be needing of window etching, he stated that I must, so I declined and he hung up on me.
About 50 min later I've received another call from the same dealership, different sales person asking if I have called and if I have hung up on the previous person. I told him that I was the one being hung up on and explained him how my previous conversation went. His response was that I do not have to have window etching, that's not a problem, but than the car goes back to the MSRP. In a way he told me that one way or another he would charge me the miscellaneous charges then proceeded to diss me and tell me that I was not a serious customer because if I was I would have come in the dealership and we would have worked out a deal. Nice sales trick! Diss your customer, that will surely encourage him or her to buy from you.
Too bad for Chevrolet that dishonest dealers costing them sales, especially when month to month sales are down. There is no problem with dealers wanting to make some profit too, but please do not engage in false advertising or charge for shady add-ons. Most of all be always respectful to your customers even if they will not buy from you. What can you loose with a little courtesy?
