Hardin memorial set up an appointment for my partner to have an mri done at hardin memorial. In all the forms you fill he stated he was allergic to contrast dye. His nurse confirmed this fact and it was included in his medical record. Drove 75 miles round trip to do NOTHING! We didn't know dye was going to be used. How would we? We are not doctors. No one looked at his chart to see that he needed meds if they were using dye. Wasted trip. Hospital blamed physician, and everyone blamed everyone. We of course were wrong after driving 70 miles plus in the rain and wasting an entire morning.

I would not trust hardin memorial with my worst enemies life. First visit, what a joke!!!!

Absolutely awful, they are slower than a fat turtle on Christmas eve with a sack of presents on it's back. Please dont go here if you have an emergency, you'll likely die in the waiting room. Also, I dont think you should believe all the good reviews on this hospital because they are likely made by people who own this establishment or are paid by them. There is a reason this place has a bad rating. The workers are lovely, but the overall system and slow pace that they do things shows how understaffed they are. Also dont have allergies when you go there because if you so much as cough once your going to get plenty of dirty looks.

I have found the staff at HMH to be exceedingly thoughtful and professional. They may be overworked due to understaffing, but I give them great marks. It's much improved as compared to fifteen years or so ago.

I've had the best experience with the staff, doctor and nurses. The nurses were all excellent. They were very efficient, nice and informative. The operating room technicians were excellent and made me feel at ease. My cardiologist Dr. Gayasaddin was great and he saved my life. The food was absolutely delicious and always served hot.
This was my first experience with HMH and I would definitely go back without hesitation.

Took our 5 month old daughter to the ER, because she has been vomiting about every 10 minutes. Waited in the ER for over 5 hours with no form of communication or urgency. I will gladly drive an hour out of our way to avoid ever going here again.

I was admitted to the 5th floor of HMH, Elizabethtown, Kentucky on the 10-2-2019 & was Extremely Elated with the Care & Concern I got from the Nurses & Staff on that floor! They are the Most Caring individuals I have ever had in my 82 years of spending time in the Hospital! Thanks to Each & Everyone of You for showing that Real Nursing Care is still around! PTL

Worst experience of my life. I had to admit my daughter due to a bacterial infection. They couldn't give clear instructions. The policy stated that she had to be there a week on antibiotics which was fine. The problems came when they wanted to add another week just to milk my tri care insurance and get a reaction out of me due to the stress I was under. My daughters progress was exceptional. The antibiotics she was on worked. Why keep her when clearly you see she is responding well to the antibiotics ?However, knowing that they wanted to keep her longer than expected made me upset when they knew as nurses she was up and running. Certain nurses would bother my kid all thru the day. She was already tired and in pain due to the staph in her leg. They had to reinsert her Iv which is still a sore spot. And to add insult to injury upon leaving one of the nurses said a very racist slur to me about me being so dark that she couldn't see me. I was standing by a window and the sun was shining so of course you wouldn't be able to see anyone. I hated my entire stay. They were very fake and showed fake concern. I'll never forget this experience. Also, petting on my child like she was in a petty zoo, called her crazy cause she was so happy. Rubbing thru her hair like they've never seen a beautiful black baby before. Then when they saw how smart she was they wanna down play me as a parent like Wow! Your so smart and things of that caliber. I despise this place and God's will I will not come back to this hateful hospital. If I could rate this hospital it would be negative. They don't really know how to show empathy. I forgive them and I pray those individuals get their hearts right with God.

Where to start. I will start by saying that I hope you never have to bring your loved ones here. My wife was brought in by ambulance 3 hours ago writhing in pain and she is still in the waiting room. I doesn't matter how nice you are to the staff, they still won't give you any helpful information. They won't even ask if my wife can take a Midol for her pain. They will not tell you how much longer. When they finally started sending patients back, they were not in as bad of shape as my wife, so they don't take you based on your pain level. They also don't do first come first serve because patients that have not been here as long as my wife have been called back before her. We finally got called to a room and on the way there, we walked by 7 empty rooms. To make a long story short, this is the last time I come here and watch someone I care for sit in pain in a waiting room for hours. Sad and ridiculous!!!

I was transferred in from Springview Hospital to Hardin Memorial. The staff was courteous and polite. They explained what medical care was being provided and all made sure I fully understood. They took really good care of my medical needs while being a patient in the 5th floor Med/Surg Floor. The Day shift Nurses Maddie and Shelly were amazing and very compassionate toward my situation. Jen was very caring during the night shift to provide me with the fullest quality care and make sure I was comfortable. The physcians were wonderful at providing me with the best care possible to get me on the road to recovery and back home.

Second time being seen for acute diverticulitis. First time waited 6+ hours in the waiting room before ever being seen. Today, came by ambulance from my Dr office at almost 4pm. Its now 6:35 and still haven't been seen. Was just told it could be a couple more hours. Ridiculous. I understand life and death emergencies come first, obviously. But the turn around time here just keeps getting worse. Not happy with our hospital.

Not happy with the staff members. I was afraid I had a miscarriage. I'm 11 weeks pregnant and typically I have the usual symptoms a pregnant would have, but on top of that I have osteoarthritis in the hip, sinus, and cough and sleep deprived. I came in after having an intense cramp and light bleeding. This pregnancy took me and my husband 5 years! Am I unreasonable for wanting to make sure my baby is doing ok. The doctor said to think about the holocaust where women were pregnant. I'm wondering how many did have miscarriages. I know a couple of my friends who had miscarriages, and I don't want the same to happen to me. Everybody is different. This nurse kept comparing her situation to mines. Honestly would rather give birth at home than at the hospital. They made me feel so bad for even showing up. I will be delivering in the winter, so if weather conditions are good I will deliver at a hospital in Louisville.

Both times I have seen the ER Dr well PA Jennifer and both times I was turned away. She wouldn t do anything for me either time and I told her instead of wasting everyone s time and money they could look at why we came in and tell us at the front that they can help us for that reason. She told me the one I should be mad at is my doctor for sending me there just wow.

The ER here needs serious help with prioritization and triage.

Not every patient needs a room and can be handled quickly in the triage area and sent home. To have people waiting for a room just to see a doctor is an embarrassment to people s time and humanity.

Some guy came in for a migraine and needed a quick shot and sent home and they still told him he had to wait for a room. I get if you need stitches or having breathing problems and need to stay a while but quick first aid stuff shouldn t take 2+ hours. This guy look like he was firing trying to sleep on that couch.

Came by ambulance on 5-30-20 for appendix issues never once did I feel like I was a burden on anyone here from house cleaning all the way up to the doctors everyone was nice and treated me like I was human being. As far as a bunch of these other reviews about pain meds not being handed out find that hard to believe, but then again I don't think you need morphine for a freaking headache like some of these pill poppers out believe.

If I ever need a hospital and I'm in the area this would be my first choice hands down.

My significant other was scheduled for a heart stent replacement at 6:45 this morning, she actually didn t get down to the room until 4 o clock. Waited 2 hrs with my pregnant wife bleeding and in pain. We never even made it to registration.I was told there were 14 people in front of her. I told the dummy walking around taking blood pressures we were going to a better hospital. He mentioned " well we are the busiest hospital in the state of Kentucky". Really guy? In the 2 hrs we were there 3 people left and 2 came in. I asked "are we still going to get billed?" he said "for the Triage you will". These jokers dont know the meaning of the word Triage, if they did my wife would have been seen ahead of the person with the common cold. Don't waste your time here, I am begging you, don't risk it. Just go straight to Louisville if you can. Either way they will have you wait forever with no human touch. These people are zombies. They did have time to order Dominos, the delivery guy was taken care of instantly. They took the pizza into the registration room and then stoped calling patients in until they finished their food. The waiting area was nasty. I took some tissues and picked up a dirty face mask that was on the seat we wanted to occupy. The BP ( blood pressure) guy offered me antibacterial wipes but he himself never offered to clean the mess. As I wiped the seat I could tell it hadn't been cleaned in a while. The wipe was black... I wasn't sick when I walked in... I am now. This zoo doesn't deserve to be called a Hospital.

About 6 of us waited 8 hours to be seen. Some people afterwards were in better shape than the rest of us got seen. A woman who came in the soonest said she didnt understand why they took her back so fast when the rest of us been waiting so long and all she was diagnosed with was seasonal allergies. We watched several shift changes and several gathered talking but no one giving answers as to why we had to wait so long to be seen. Horrible place!!

Took my husband in about a month ago for cardic arrest and they rushed him back and got to work on him immediately, they treated us with the upmost respect and took care of my husband. After he was admitted the staffing and nurses upstairs was just as nice and attending. Had it not been for them my husband would not be here today. We had another visit two weeks ago after a car accident and same thing, very respectful and very quickly taken care of. I would highly recommend them.

Husband was told by the doctor at urgent care to go to the ER because his white blood count was sky high and his xray on his abdomen showed either an obstruction or serious inflamation so the Dr wanted a Cat scan so we headed straight to HMH and checked in and waited in ER waiting room for 4 hrs while people with colds and flu were taken first. The Dr at urgent care said if it is an obstruction it can be deadly. When I asked the ER nurses when he would be seen they said " when it's his turn" and it's based on severity of illness after waiting 4 hrs we left because he was in pain and couldn't sit any longer. They could have cared less that he was in serious pain. We moved here from Florida and NEVER had service this poor at a hospital. HMH do not care about the wellfare of their patients. Very sad. I will drive to Louisville before going to HMH again.

Left my house by ambulance for pain so severe, that I passed out twice. Waiting for the emt to show up, they new right away that something was really wrong. Get to this hospital, got thrown onto ex-ray machine, still screaming from the pain, 2 hrs later, no doctor shows up, i get 1 drip of morphine, discharged thrown to wheel chair and tossed in back of my van, still screaming from pain. I promise you at this moment 4 days later, I'm still in pain, I can't move, cant take a shower, cant ride in a vehicle for a doctor's visit. HARDIN this is not over, just because you don't give a proper physical, to treat the patient, doesnt mean your allowed to throw out what or who you choose

First i went to carefirst who sent me to er. The doctor i had jennifer salee was not very pleasant at all to deal with and no bedside manner . I ended up having kidney stones and ovarian cysts when prescribed antibiotics i simply asked for yeast infection medicine because i am prone to yeast infections when taking antibiotics, she said if you get one buy cream no reason for me to prescibe you anything for it better yet get it from Your primary care doc since you need to follow up anyway. I wasnt asking for pain meds geeze. I only go to the er if i absolutely have to because of this reason. I cant stand people being rude for no reason. If you can help it travel to louisville hardin memorial may have updated their appearance but they haven't updated their customer service.

Needs to better train staff to handle grieving families. The chaplain used the words "put him in a refrigerator" and "ship" him to the funeral home. They hounded us about where to take the body not even twenty minutes after time of death, while everything else while we were there took hours. And the nurse in ICU should really be able to handle frustrated family without returning the attitude. And then said nurse handed a toe tag to a person who was sobbing to make them sign it and then started describing that it would go on his body. They definitely need better training in these situations. The member of the palliative care team, Jesse, is the only reason this got the two stars it did. She was amazing. Unfortunately her shift had ended when he passed.

By far worst hospital I've ever been to. Bathrooms are filthy. I step outside for 2 minutes to get something and I get skipped over when I asked the nurse she laughed at me. While I'm on terrible pain.. The only positive is the triage nurses were nice. The rooms are almost as filthy as the bathrooms.

Same day surgery department was amazing. I was admitted for a 3 day hospital stay for after my surgery and they have been amazing here. So caring and willing to do anything to help you. I, too, have heard horror stories about this hospital, but I believe it's just the ER that gives it a bad name because alot of people don't realize that you can just go to an urgent care facility for most problems. Yeah, you'll probably be waiting a while here at the ER because first of all, they get people with heart attacks and more significant injuries that need to be seen first before somebody with a cough or some pain. And second, they aren't a trauma center. If you're really hurt or your child is sick, take them up to Louisville or Kosairs. Everywhere else in the hospital is great though. Would recommend it. :)

I came in a wheel chair, shaking and in pain. A nurse pulled me to the side and started asking me questions but then another nurse came rushing me to my room, which i believe is where i should ve been in the first place. I talked to one of the nurses how i got the way i was and then left me to wait in bed to get my blood drawn. As i was laying there my heart rate started to go up to 185 while the monitor was beeping crazy and my pain became unbearable. I called TWO times for help on my remote and no one came so i had to screamed. A nurse finally came and looked like she didn t know what to do but to draw my blood as i was still trembling. I started to calm down after my blood was taken and i needed to use the restroom, so i called someone on the remote. Waited for good 20 minutes, no one came so i had to call again and finally had someone take me. Honestly could ve died and rotted here. Even one if the nurses said they would never bring their kids here. This place is a joke.

I was happy with my surgeon dr. Moore. The outpatient surgery center across town was excellent. But I was not happy with the policies of the outpatient surgery at the main hospital. Sometimes the BSN in charge of the outpatient surgery at the main hospital needs to look at the situation instead of ramming the policy down the patient's throat.

Worst experience in the United States.

Worst experience in the United States.

After visiting HMH ER's department in 2015, they submitted wrong billing information to their ER Physicians and send me invoices in the wrong country!

Of course, not hearing back from me, they submitted my case to collections and 2 years later, I got aware of that case when my credit score started dropping massively.

I had to hire an attorney to protect my rights. The only thing I will remember from this experience is: next time I am injured, I will go to Louisville or Bardstown simply so I do not get to collection because of their administrative errors and so I do not need to hire an attorney to make sure they give you a call back.

HMH and their providers won't even collect their certified mails sent to them. Again, that's the worst service I've ever been through in the United States. I will never go back there. I encourage you to take this review seriously and to do the same.

I ve been a patient and I ve worked here. Worst hospital I ve ever been to. ER visits are an absolute nightmare every time.
The nurses could care less about their patients needs and would rather soend time socializing and trying to decide what to order for lunch.
I ve watched 80 year old folk be placed in a chair in the hallway with no one checking on them while they re waiting to be placed in a room.
Working here took a toll on my emotions every single day because I was just registration so I couldn t do anything about the way these patients are treated.
If you ever need emergency care, you re better off driving an hour to Louisville. Seriously.

I have never had better service at any hospital. I was out of town on vacation and needed an ambulance. The EMT drivers were easy to talk to, and they wished me the best of luck before they left the hospital. Joey was excellent. I was so comfortable talking to him, in a normally uncomfortable situation. The nurses in the ER were amazing!!! I wish I had these nurses back home. Sherry Shelton was kind, sweet, comforting, funny, and she always helped me when I needed it. The other nurse who was terrific was Ashlen Emmit. I was starving and she brought me a little bit of everything including ice cream. She was very kind, caring and sympathetic. I felt as though these two nurses were my long lost family. I will definitely recommend this hospital.

On the 5th of November I was having extremely hard time trying to get my boyfriend's Eliquis refilled or even get a three-day Supply to give him to the date that his insurance would pay for the prescription. this being a blood thinner he had to have this. Jewish Hospital did try to help me so very much but we ran into obstacle after obstacle after obstacle and the radcliff pharmacy did not even know who the doctor was that they were suppose to be contacting. after calling around and finding out that only Hospital pharmacies could give out samples. I called Hardin Memorial Hospital community Pharmacy. I want to thank the gentleman and the two ladies that was working there on the 5th. The gentleman for finding me a coupon to get a A month's worth of Eliquis for free and for the two ladies for putting up with me when I called. One of the ladies being the pharmacist was so amazing and partier. I thank you so much 4 all your help in obtaining the prescription that he needed and working through the nonsense from the pharmacy. I can't tell you how much this means to me. you three went above and beyond to take a load off my shoulders. I just want to commend you all for caring so much about people

I got ignored for 5 hours and then told that the doctor didn t have time to see me that he had more important patients and I was discharged because I have a chronic condition I shouldn t have come to the ER. The care received here was ok, nothing spectacular, just ok. The food on the other hand was the worst thing I've ever put into my mouth. It was like I was being starved here, lunch one day consisted of one small petrified looking chicken patty slathered in their favorite BBQ sauce they put on everything! So that and that only was lunch ... To top it all off they have adopted this new rule which essentially keeps you hostage in your room. You are not allowed to leave the room for any reason, can't go outside, not even the cafeteria when they try to starve you... This is 200% unacceptable and unnessecary! They cannot for you into confinement in your room and threaten you with an AMA!!! Pretty sure that's illegal. I would rather die than come back here for any reason!!!!!!!!! Needs major improvement before they find themselves sued!!!

My grandma went in Monday morning around 7am.. sit back in the emergency room for almost 4 hours without being seen because only 2 drs on duty.. I understand the Dr situation but to sit back there that long without a Dr stepping in just to say hi or I'll be right with you is ridiculous. They kept her overnight and 5th floor was great to her then had to be put in icu. Icu is great.. I don't know who takes care of the bathrooms both men and women on the the 2nd floor but all week that have been so GROSS. I told a couple ppl that worked there but I don't guess it mattered to them. My family was visiting the icu so we are using them bathrooms then having to go in the icu.. hopefully with your new addition you all can afford to pay someone to keep the bathrooms clean. When you have to go in for test, surgery or have to stay alnite the staff is great the emergency room is horrible, hateful and don't care.

An awful company run by liars, crooks, and generally bad people. The ER is an outrageous crime filled with disgusting rooms, rude staff, and pitiful care. The billing department is rude and borderline criminal. As a former employee of the cleaning staff i can say it is a disgusting place and most staff are generally aweful people. I hope this hospital fails and i hope the people who run it all fall with it.

Never come to this hospital, by far the worst hospital in the history of hospitals. Went to the ER for a blood clot in my leg and I sat in the waiting room for 2 hours and didn't even see triage. This hospital doesn't care about their patients and it clearly shows in their patient care and priority. If I could give negative stars rating I would give it to them

I wouldn't give this hospital even one star. They seriously need to be investigated and whoever is in charge of the hospital needs to get a grip on their rude and horribly uninformed staff. We try to stay away from hospital environments and rarely is my family ever sick much less have an emergency situation. It's not worth posting the details of horrific experiences, since it is just google and it won't change that it is the only hospital in the area, but it is worth noting they could be and NEED to be sued over their performance at this hospital including the one person who was debating it on this review. My recommendation consult NOW as there is always a statute of limitations and this hospital counts on people just walking away and taking their nonsense. For ANYONE with a child, race them to Kosairs. The time it takes you to get them there driving, initially evaluated and seen is the same time if not shorter than you will wait simply registering and hanging out in a waiting room at HMH. And that happened to a child 4 years with head trauma and bleeding from both nose and mouth/vomiting.

Update: Its been 2 hours of not being seen by any doctor..... 6 people were in waiting room prior. 2 displayed no severe symptoms and 4 had coughs.

Have been here with my daughter (who is 13weeks pregnant) for four and half hours waiting to find out if her baby is okay. They couldn't find a heart beat but instead of rushing to see what's wrong they are placing bets on other patients lab work. Hands down the worst hospital. Have seen 6 other patients walk out to go to university of Louisville to be seen

Was not impressed with the APRN

Was not impressed with the APRN
Jennifer S. She was not very professional in the way she spoke. Very rude and did not listen to what I was feeling. More concerned that she would be racking up a bill for me. NO beside manners at all. My nurse was Troy and he did an excellent job...very kind and very caring manner. I give him 5 stars!

Horrible! I've had A LOT of health issues the past year and unfortunately I live right next door to this hospital so when you're in agony or very sick, it will have to do. . . With that being said I asked SPECIFICALLY upon speaking to a charge nurse that the APRN Dawn Shelby NOT be allowed to treat me for the rude manor and horrible misdiagnoses she had already given me 1.) Being I was in labor, and she told me it was gas and sent me home. .. (I miscarried) 2.) My gallbladder was removed via emergency surgery on another visit due to it exploding and 12 hrs prior she diagnosed me again with GAS and sent me home! !! ! Medical malpractice!
So it should have been in my chart that she NOT see me.

I was having post concussion issues last Sunday night (blurred vision, confusion, and a migraine that wouldn't subside) and they sent her in to "take care of me" AGAIN! Since I am 24 weeks pregnant with twins I refused the cat scan and she rudely said "well that's your prerogative" And stormed out. a few minutes later they administered me benadryl via IV and I have NO CLUE WHY, then an hr later without ever seeing her again or understanding what was going on with me, they discharged me! This is why I will deliver my twins on the way to Louisville on 65 N before I ever have them at this hospital!

This is not the 1st time here but the closest ER.....my son broke his wrist and it's been almost 6 hours and still no reset or cast.....it took 3 hours just to hook him up to the vitals....
I understand there are criticals but come on people have lives to..... have more doctors or do the ones that have been here waiting its sad that I have to consider going to Louisville no matter how much pain my 3 kids are in just to be seen faster this hospital is pitiful instead of expanding and remolding get better nurses and drs

Horrible hospital. I went into the ER with severe abdominal pain it took them 6 hours and multiple tests to just claim I had an abdominal muscle strain...... a week later it was still causing me pain, went to audubon hospital and in 1 hour they told me it was not a muscle strain and I had to have emergency surgery to remove a severely infected gallbladder and gall stones. Would not send my worst enemy to HMH. Drive to louisville or anywhere else for that matter. If they cant figure out what's wrong they just make something up and send you home.

Staff nurse and doctor on night shift, took their time to listen and actually treat me accordingly. I appreciate them and their patience. They have a huge job on their plates and I think that's important to remember. Thank you all for treating me in the years past and present.
