They said I would get my test results the next day, have yet to receive a call, so I called them. Someone at records said they couldn't give it to me, lab was already closed. I called emergency and they proceeded to tell me that they cannot legally give me results on the phone when my paperwork says they will contact me. Now I'm back up here in the we just to find out my test results so I can stop being in constant pain for 6 DAYS NOW! The worst hospital ever, just go to Louisville!

Terrible place. Waiting room is full, People are coughing very bad and no one is asked to put a face mask on. We came with a 6 month old and had to wait for more than 4 hours to be seen. I hate this place. Our 2nd time here, never again. Next we will drive to baptist east in Louisville.

If there were ZERO stars, this is what they d receive. I have never been to such a sham of a hospital. My husband was involved in a serious car accident and, rather than take him 45 minutes north to U of L Hospital, he was brought here. In the 7 hours he has been here, I have had to find nurses to address his needs. The ONLY time he has been seen is because I have demanded it. In the last 2 hours, the only staff that has walked down his hallway have been CUSTODIAL! This hospital is nothing more than a FIRST AID STATION. If they are so concerned about transporting my husband to a TRAUMA CENTER for the fluid in his abdominal activity, they certainly do not show it. In conclusion, I would not come here for anything greater than a sore throat or a sprained ankle. Save your money, save your time, save your loved one! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

I have never been more upset with a hospital than I have with this one tonight. Walked in and no one was waiting. Get checked in and they told me they would be right with me that they were slow. I get things happen but there is no reason for me to sit in the bed for 3 hours before a nurse even came in the room! I just walked out and will I guess go to Louisville from now on.

I went in with testicular pain. Had a nurse shove a needle in my arm full of morphine. I never had morphine before that day. I assume she was injecting it in to my vein to fast because my insides began to burn and my heart began to pound faster everytime she pressed her thumb against the syringe. I told her it was very uncomfortable and she told me "maybe you'll think about that the next time you come in here with pain." I was flabbergasted and extremely afraid. I've been to every hospital in this town with the same issue. No one here has helped me with the problem; they've only "shoved" pills down my throat and sent me on my way. As a black man I dont trust the doctors here. I had a doctor tell me that he would have to remove my testicle to get rid of a 5mm cyst in my sack or that the hydrocel (I also have) shouldn't cause any discomfort or have any effect on me at all so to operate may result in the removal of my left testicle.

Took my mother to the ER because she felt she had ...

Took my mother to the ER because she felt she had something stuck in her throat, she was having a harder time taking breaths, and nauseated. Wait time after check in and seeing the doctor were very reasonable for ER service. My poor experience started when the ER doctor gave my mother the wrong information for the Endo scope she needed to have performed. We even questioned Dr.Walton the ER doctor that evaluated my mom if this was the correct place. His response was yes I will have the doctors name, phone number, and address for you on your discharges. Told her to be there at 7am. Guess what. It was the wrong place. So my mom showed up for her scope to try and hopefully get relief or answers why she feels the way she does and she is at the wrong place. She called Hardin memorial to then be told oh yeah he NEVER does scopes at his office. They offered her to come to the hospital and wait to be squeezed in for the scope. Who wants to one potentially wait all day at a hospital after they were the ones who messed up and two be squeezed in for a procedure! That really sounds like your going to get good care. I now question the radiographs that were taken on my mom that we were told were normal . If Dr. Walton read those radiographs instead of a radiologist I doubt his competence on the read out since he can not even give the correct information for where a procedure is ALWAYS performed at! Drive to Louisville don t waste your time at HMH who knows what you ll be told but it probably won t be correct.

Very slow staff. Regardless of if its an unsusually busy day, i shouldn't have to wait 1 hour in between seeing each nurse and only see my doctor twice during my 12 hour stay. Should either call in more staff, or hire more people. No excuses.

Nursing staff are terrific. Doctors, on the other hand, in a word, pathetic! This institution is a prime example of what is fundamentally wrong with healthcare in this country. Treating Dr's in such high esteem like rock stars leaves patients desperately seeking other avenues for healthcare needs. Nursing staff does the very best they can, but doesn't seem supported by physicians on staff, thereby feeling the brunt of patient frustrations. Shocking level of treatment. Do yourself a favor, go to medical school. You will receive care probably quicker with more genuine concern.

Worst experience ever! Why bother having a 15 mill...

Worst experience ever! Why bother having a 15 million dollar renovation? You can't handle it! This hospital is horrible! Before the renovation you guys were great! You took care of people and got them on their way in a timely manner. Not 5 hours to give my son a ct scan that took literally 5 mins and he was back. Then to be told nothing was wrong and another hour to get a shot! The ER doctor we had. Told us that the sciatic nerve couldn't cause a headache! What? Really? Where did you get your degree? (A great number of patients with chronic sciatica also suffer from one or more mindbody pain syndromes in addition to their lower back and leg pain. The most common of these psychologically-induced conditions include gastrointestinal disorders, fibromyalgia, TMJ, carpal tunnel syndrome, and of course, various forms of headaches.) Worthless and a big waste of my money! I recommend no one ever go here! Make the 45 min trip to Louisville where the real doctors are at! Horrible, crappy, no bedside manners, jerks and horrible, absolutely horrible! service. YOU SUCK HMH!

Daughter came in by ambulance and was put in the waiting room for 3 hours. Testing required an empty bladder, then they want a urine sample. The staff had lots of free time making unprofessional jokes. Their rudeness was an understatement.

I recently came here to outpatient surgery for a d&c with Dr. Preen, who is excellent. I was extremely nervous but had a good experience considering the circumstances. Everyone was very professional, calmed my nerves and the nurses are all very caring. So thankful.

Gave this place another chance after a HORRIBLE experience with the way they treated our 2 year old when she was attacked by a family members dog. Went in unable to fully feel my dominant hand- main complaint was the numbness. They did an X-ray and said no breaks maybe it s this , maybe it s that. I asked how we could determine what it was and nurse practitioner chuckled and said no one was rushing in for that. Slapped a generic brace on it and sent me on my way with a sprain diagnosis even after saying they weren t sure what was wrong. Days later I finally have an mri and find out I have a torn tendon and torn cartilage. I get it, an mri for a wrist isn t life threatening but with all of the out patient resources affiliated with the hospital they could have had me set up for an mri the next day as outpatient or something rather than taking the money and saying oh well good luck. When I reviewed my notes from ER visit through my family doctor they noted that I wasn t experiencing any numbness. WHEN NOT BEING ABLE TO FEEL MY DOMINANT HAND WAS MY CHIEF COMPLAINT. Being seen by Kutz & Kleinert now to undo the damage that HMHs neglect did...

This is what passes for an Emergency Room in this ...

This is what passes for an Emergency Room in this area. People are screwed if there is ever a major incident. This place can't handle an easy work load. 6+ hours for a severe ear infection. Say and waited 3 1/2 hours to get to a room. Doctor shows 30 minutes later. 2 hours to be discharged. No tests ran. Just looked in the ears. ER was not even close to busy when staff has time to sit and chat at the nurse's station about their plans for their day off. Room was not cleaned properly. Staff tried to play it off as nothing when it was pointed out there was a used medical item on the floor.. Then staff used a glove to remove the sharp/biohazard that they said was not a big deal and dropped in the sharp bin.

I had a serious fall & was taken To Hardin Memorial May 14, 2016. I was treated very promptly. Made comfortable & had surgery the next day which was a Sunday!
Dr. Krueger did an excellent job, repairing my hip. This verified by orthopedic Dr. in my hometown (300+mi. away). As for the care it could not have been better! The nursing staff went above & beyond. The most caring wonderful people are at Hardin Memorial Hosp. Elizabethtown KY.

Updating my previous 4 star review to a 1 star. I'd give no stars, but it won't let me.

Went to the ER last night and was treated horribly. I went in with severe spine pain. They took me to x-ray. They were trying to x-ray my neck. In order to get the x-ray, she needed me to put my arms straight down by my side. I couldn't do this because of the pain in my spine. The tech said don't worry about it, we'd try again in an hour. So I get back to my room, and let my nurse know that the pain meds they'd given me weren't helping. So she comes in and gives me ibuprofen. My pain level is at 10+ and they give me something I already tried at home. So I question the nurse about it. She said she'll go talk to the nurse practitioner that had ordered it. The next thing I know the discharge nurse comes in and hands me discharge paperwork. I explain to her that I'm waiting on the NP come talk to me because I was still in excruciating pain, plus I was still waiting for x-ray. She tells me they aren't giving me anything else and then tells me that I REFUSED x-ray. I was like umm no I didn't. I couldn't put my arm in the position the tech needed, so they said they'd come back in an hour to try again. She then gets snappy and tells me that I'm being discharged. So I asked her to bring me the MD that was working, because neither she nor the NP were listening to me and they were trying to give me things I've already tried at home, plus they were discharging me without examining me and without any tests besides blood work. She then walks out and slams the door. A few minutes later security comes walking in to escort my husband and I off the premises for simply asking to see the doctor.

We waited for 7 hours! Only 2 and a half of that was in the waiting room. The rest was back in the room , where my mom had to pee so bad and was told they were coming ...and came after 3 reminders and 2 hours later after she was crying with discomfort . We still had not seen a doctor , finally one came in, then went right back out saying he has a personal phone call he had to take . Do not take your loved ones to this hospital . We won't make the same mistake .
