the staff were extremely nice and thoughtful. almost everything there is in the best condition. best sports store in San Diego in my opinion

Great customer service, the store has sandals in fall.

It was chill. Good selection, minuse the items they were out of stock in. No special orders so what you see is what you get.

Lots of great merchandise ranging from flip flops, surf wear, shirts, shorts, surf boards, wetsuits, glasses, snow board and many others s. Name brand items Billabong, Roxy, O'Neil, vans etc...

Been here a half dozen times now. Always found the best prices on surf stuff, even compared to online. Staff seem to be very friendly and helpful. Plus as an added bonus there's free popcorn

This is basically the first review I have ever made in my life and that s because this place has an unreal group of young people providing exemplary service! I truly hope the owner recognizes this and compensates them accordingly! If I lived in the area this would be the only surf shop I d go to! Keep up the great work!

Went here to get that new 4-3 winter wetsuit for surfing. All the guys upstairs love talking surf and gave me the the run down on a couple different suits, I ended up with xcell pro comp. With recent water temps dropping this has definitely kept me warm. I'll be back soon to get some booties.

Milo the owner knows how to run a business, and Hanger 94 provides quality service for what you may need. Snow, surf, skate, moto. Always 5+ stars in my book.

Love this place! I got a pair of Reef flip flops from there close to 10 years ago that FINALLY needed replacing, haven't failed but will soon. Wife said Nobody has flip flops now they're out of season... Hanger 94 has an ENTIRE SECTION of flip flops! I didn't get in the door before I was greeted and offered assistance. I was approached by 4 different employees within less than 5 minutes! That's customer service! Absolutely recommend shopping there 1000%

Very helpful staff. Going beyond expectations. Bought my son a new deck. They did the griptape and showed him how to do it. I forget the guy's name but he was very knowledgeable and helped us even though the poor guy was on crutches

I have taken my nephew there twice and Alex helped us both times. The customer service he provided was above and beyond what I expected. He explained things to us and was transparent. I would recommend people to go there

Cocktails and many premium and craft beers make this place buzz with excitement. Well apportioned, spacious and decorated in an airplane themed fashion it is a great place to meet someone or arrive solo and make friends. Nice bartending staff and delicious appetizers to boot.

Staff followed us the whole time, and only us. Being of a minority, I felt like it had to do with race since I was the only person of color. Never coming back.

One of the best shops in SD. Everyone actually surfs & skates so super knowledgeable. Received a lot of info on wetsuits and different shoe models, was impressed. Only negative, too many employees asking if you need help. I get it, just doing their job just greeted way too much

Awesome store with a huge selection. Customer service was outstanding. Got my two boys their first skateboards as well as personal protective gear based off the recommendation of the staff. Will be returning soon to get another board. Highly recommend this place.

This place is great! We went in looking for a birthday gift and the entire staff was super helpful. Some prices are a bit high, but the brands are quality and if you have a problem with what you purchase, they are happy to take it back. The men's section is much larger than the women's, but they have great items on sale.

First time buying a skateboard from scratch and the guy upstairs is really helpful plus they have great customer service...Would definetly buy there again..

Worst place in San Diego. I ordered a surfboard here and they said it would take two weeks--understandable of course. Seven weeks later I've had to keep calling back to see where it is and they keep giving me the run-around. The managers are unprofessional and rude.

Never any real deals, but if you need gear and arnt by the beach, Hanger does the job.

I've been going to hanger 94 for about ten years now . It all about quality here but you have to be willing to part with some cash as quality doesn't come cheap here. I'd do like the good selection here and you won't hear any say oh, he got that at wallmart

I pick up all my snowboard gear here, JB and the staff are super knowledgable on all the newest gear because they ride it. Only 4 stars because of the no cash back return policy. You only get store credit, no matter what. Just know that going in. Prices are what you'd expect from a large store but you get the brands you want. If you get new snow or skate gear, have an expert set it up for you. I'll be back every time I want anything snow. Thanks JB!

It's biggest problem is they are all over you they clearly suspect everyone of stealing..
But if you're a Skateboarder, doesn't matter, they have EVERYTHING

Excellent customer service, employee helped me set up my board and bindings and helped teach me about snowboard boot sizing and how to attach my bindings.

1st time snowboarder who s buying gear and it s awesome to have staff knowledgeable about the place there working at. Tanner was awesome! He helped me from board to bindings and even set up my snowboard for me! Wasn t trying to get me to buy things I didn t need. When I actually went snowboarding I had a really great time and it all started with my board set up so thank you tanner!

Went upstairs to the snowboard section and was helped out by 2 guys! Very helpful and informative. Taught me some things to look out for when shopping for boots and wasn't pushy on sales more concerned about if I was comfortable. My fiance got a pair but I unfortunately was unable to find a pair of boots since it was closer to the end of the season so stock was wiped out.

Customer service is on point, super friendly, knowledgeable, and huge variety for all extreme sports. Only wish they offered a military discount, they'd bring in So much more business in my eyes.

Its a cool place with many selections. They have sales which are pretty good. Some staff was okay but others checking in alot as if you were up to no good. They don't give you breathing room to shop. When you are looking to buy something which you already know the item, the staff can be insistent that they are the expert in the matter. Not cool in my book.

I was just here earlier tonight to grab some snowboard gear and I thought the whole store would be overpriced and limited in their selection, but they had everything and the prices were exactly the same as online. Also, one of the guys, Cody, I think his name was, spent a lot of time with us even though they were getting a little busy. Hanger 94 > online shopping

Run into the nicest people there! Helpful, laidback staff and reasonable, quality merchandise.

Wish I would have checked reviews. Tried to exchange (not return) a pair of $300 boots that started tearing up after the first day. All I got was a long, patronizing lecture from the grumpy manager. Save your money for local shops that actually care about the locals who support them. If you want to be disrespected, try a simple return or exchange at Hanger 94.
