Hamilton Pork Review

I live a few blocks away but didn't know about this place till it popped up on social media. The food was really good! My boyfriend and I got a meat sampler, brussel sprouts with bacon and apples, and the churro waffle. The margaritas are strong, so be ready if you order two. I'd highly recommend this place, and hope to go back soon!

Fun place. The nachos were really good the beer was good but a small portion for $8.

My favorite go to. Dine in, dine out, pick up. This place never fails me. And I send everyone there. The food is always great, and drinks will always get you tipsy.

Absolutely a place worth visiting, the food is great and well prepared, the cost is fair and it is constantly well organized here. Highly recommended.

Friendly atmosphere even given the challenges of the pandemic. The meats were cooked very well and tasted amazing. The Mac n cheese was very average but the rest was spot on. Would go again.

We came here for lunch. We ordered the mac and cheese, the lamb belly, and the pulled pork. He got a beer and I got a cocktail. I was so excited for barbecue!! You can smell this place from down the block! It was going to be amazing!!!

Alas. Everything was okay, but it was almost a disappointment. I love the kitchen at Hamilton Inn, and even though it's pricy the food is always good an interesting. These were 3 traditional solid dishes, with small portions for the price. The lamb was by far the best, but still the price seemed pretty steep. I wouldn't come back unless they have some great deals or happy hours offers.

I hope they re-think their prices or menu and stay in buisness. There's so much potential for a good barbacue place in this neighborhood, especially as we get closer to summer.

I've been here about 4-5 times over the past several years and it never disappoints. First time attending a Sunday brunch and overall good experience (even during Covid times). Had the pulled pork nachos and rib sandwich along with a bloody mary and breakfast margarita (not shown). Celiac Annie had the eggs, chorizo, potatoes, and queso brunch dish with prosecco. Unfortunately, the waiter did not mention the chorizo and queso both had gluten and therefore the dish was slightly underwhelming. Still tasty and our fault for not asking.

Good BBQ. Not the priciest either. Try the big beef rib.

We walked in before they opened but they had no problem seating us and serving us some great drinks at the bar. The service was very good and they took out orders as soon as possible and the food was absolutely amazing.

Always sooo good. Came here to eat and drink with 2 others. One of the guys we were with is a crazy person and orders a ton of drinks and shots and literally every food item on the menu. We got way too much food, but I'm not unhappy about that. Everything was awesome.

Just came back from Hamilton Pork with the fam and everyone had a terrific meal. This was our first time here, although we know the neighborhood quite well. One kid had the Mexican burger, the other had mac and cheese... Both very happy. Wife had brisket with baby kale and I had baby back ribs with sweet corn... Everything was delish. Oh and I forgot to mention the brussel sprouts... Definitely get them.

Went for brunch. Brisket was good. Drinks were OK. Really liked the layout and location. I'll have to go back for dinner and more drinks.

Good place for some BBQ, though the portions are smaller then you'd expect. Overall a good experience.

Delicious bbq and sides and great cocktails and drinks

Ordered Delivery twice, screwed up Order both times, forgot sauces and sides both times, food came luke warm. Ribs are decent .

We had an amazing experience at this place. We liked the extraordinary atmosphere and the food. The staff members are super attentive. I m content we finally decided to visit this restaurant.

A little on the pricey side, but it's a cute place to sit outside and have brunch or a few drinks. The BBQ is just okay.

What a fantastic place for tacos and mexican corn and margaritas! Ingredients and fresh and whole. Divine! Cubano and al pastor tacos - eat them!

I love Hamilton Pork. It s a mix of BBQ and Mexican offerings. All delicious and reasonably priced. The vibe is cool and casual and the bar is well stocked with delicious adult beverages. The highlight is the frozen margarita. I m not sure what they put in there but I can tell you-they sneak up on you. 2 is my max and wowza! It s a great wind down after a long week. The craft beer menu is on point and I highly recommend the corn. Family friendly and there are outside tables for patio pups.

Lots of good options on the menu. The lamb belly is my favorite! Skip the macaroni and cheese.

They did an outstanding job handling volume with social distancing. Brisket was bit fatty but was a good meal overall.

Frozen Mango Margarita with Tajin Spice is delicious and a lot stronger than it tastes. So good!

Barbeque, tacos, cocktails, beer served in a pseudo industrial space - make a reservation! They are always busy and for good reason. It's All casually delicious.

Only BBQ option in the neighborhood so fair to say it's the best in town. My one experience there was good - lamb belly and brisket were the best. Mac and cheese was disappointing.

Oh man. I m so disappointed. Hamilton Pork has been one of my favorite restaurants in Jersey City for a number of years and after months of not eating out, I decided to order and take it to the nearby park for a picnic. Boy, I m not sure if they ve changed chefs, but my dishes were awful. One specific example: the sweetcorn was burnt and they hadn t bothered to remove the stringy silks (see picture). I couldn t eat it. I won t be returning.

Good smokey BBQ. A small bbq joint that hits all the marks. Friendly and helpful service, tasty food, and comfortable decor.
I've been a few times and have enjoyed everything so far: tacos, jalapeno cheddar sausage, kung pao wings, brisket, and pork ribs. The cauliflower is a great side too.

This place is ok. It's the only BBQ spot in the downtown area of JC. Their food isn't bad, but I didn't love it.

I think the food is OK but overpriced and small portions. If they included a side in their price it would make more sense but 14 dollars for a ssandwich is insanity. I've been here a couple of times and keep hoping it will change my mind but its not there yet. Either bigger portions or less money or I'm probably going to avoid it for other options

Review: Made the mistake of coming here for a special occasion (our anniversary). The service and food are in dire need of a change. Ordered the food for pick up, and waited 30 minutes at the outdoor seating area (which was empty the entire time, and still empty about an hour later). After we finally received the food, we opened the meat sampler and realised it was already cold so I asked the server can we just sit here outside to eat this? and he said no, these are for outdoor dining (by this time it was 7:20pm on a Tuesday night with zero folks seated outside). We ended up walking 15 minutes to a park to eat our now very cold dinner, and realised that they hadn t put in any cutlery or napkin. Off we go again back to Hamilton Pork. Again, I asked the server (because of the empty benches) if we could sit outside and he said no. Anyway, that entire experience aside - we finally got to have our dinner and by then, the meat sampler was full of entirely cold meats with one tiny sauce of BBQ to share (seriously?), very cold mac and cheese which reminded me of Kraft instant mac and cheese (but I m the sucker who paid $9 here) and the most salty and unappetising pork belly taco (we took one bite and had to throw it away). I spent $40+ here for what should ve been a dinner for a very special occasion. Ruined the entire night for us, and we hope this doesn t happen to anyone else.

This is one of our favorite places to hang out, the food is absolutely delicious and service is very good.

This is a great option in Jersey City if you are looking for something yummy and tasty.

I love the baby back ribs, but the tacos are incredibly amazing, I particularly recommend the Philly taco, it's unique and delicious, even over the pastor o shrimp.

I'm sure that you will enjoy the food, the drinks and the atmosphere.

There was a period of time where my family and I came here at least once a week. Food is fantastic, had never disappointed.

To say we are extremely disappointed with the food ordered from Hamilton pork is an understatement. After reading the menu and seeing the photos we were very excited. However, the pictures on the menu are deceiving. The portions are tiny for the expensive price. I do not have a problem paying higher prices for quality food but, in the case of our tacos and the brisket sandwich, the food was extremely lacking in flavor and seasoning. So much so that we wonder if the chef has even heard of a little seasoning called salt.

Do not waste your money. I am so upset that I wasted almost 70$ on a meager lunch that didn't even taste good nor filled me up.

If I could leave 0 stars as a review I would.

Really good food. Tender and moist. The service was good. The atmosphere was nice. Had brisket and the 3 meat sampler (ribs, sausage, lamb belly), mac and cheese, brussel sprouts, and jalapeno cornbread. Everything was great. The best was the churro waffle ice cream sandwich to end the meal off.

I'm from Texas... so I know BBQ. Hamilton Pork is fab! Love the ambiance - it's chill, relaxed and friendly. Not a very big place, but it feels open. The food is sooooo goooood! Also, great bar! Outside seating available also.

Awesome ribs and great mexican-flavoured dishes and on-point cocktails. Definitely recommend fries with cheese and Mexican Radio! Though the prices are decent for the quality of food, they are a bit high for the portion they serve.

The pulled pork nachos are delicious. The guacamole is absolutely delicious, and the prices make sense.

This place would do well in Atlanta or North Carolina. The Mexican-influenced menu is a great twist on a classic concept. They only have two desserts - try the churro waffle ice cream sandwich (salted caramel ice cream between a pair of crispy cinnamon and sugar waffles) and you'll understand why. Evidence the New Jersey food scene can compete with big brother across the Hudson.

The "VERY SMALL"potion of food n the ridiculous BIG price it's just not worth going ever again.

This my go to spot for anything BBQ as their menu options are absolutely delicious!! Some of my favorites are their Brisket Nachos, Sweet Potato Mash and Kung Pow Wings.

Service is always great and love the vibe in the room.

First time going ordered take out Marconi and cheese was terrible I was looking for the cheese, the wings were dry and over cooked, brisket was also very dry will not be going back

Ordered to go, they forgot to give the sides - no BBQ sauce, pickles etc. dry meat quite the disappointment.

Backyard is really great. Good family spot. Had the Nachos with pulled pork and a chicken sandwich. Both were excellent and the margaritas are perfect as well! Definitely a must do in Hoboken.

Some of the best barbecue in the area, period. The lamb belly is awesome. Also, really good cocktails. Highly recommend if you're in the area.
