We had our rehearsal dinner at GP's this past September. We worked with Heather and her team to coordinate the dinner to ahve three different seating arrangements throughout the night. After the apps and salads the guests would change seats, then after the entree the guests would change seats again and have dessert and coffee with new people. The staff was super helpful and the night was seamless! They were able to accommodate this unique request with a smile and helped us make our rehearsal dinner a memorable experience for all of our guests. GP's is amazing, and I will always recommend them to anyone looking for an intimate experience with amazing food and beautiful atmosphere.

Fantastic! I've been going to GP's since they opened, a little over a year ago. The food is always spot on! They have all the great Italian classics (try the Chicken parm, it's awesome!), but their specials are always changing and always super fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced when at all possible. The staff is super attentive, and incredibly warm and welcoming! They knew my name by the second time I came in. This is a gem of Jersey City!

Went there on a second date and since the weather is still nice they had the tables outside and live instrumental music (Thursdays) with a saxophone and chelo. We ate outside even though the inside was nicely decorated but the weather was too good to pass. The service was quick and the waiter was very funny. Lastly I had the Grilled Skirt Steak Toscano and she had the Crisp Roast Breast of Chicken both from the main course dinner menu and it was fantastic. The portions were perfect, not too filling and didn't leave me hungry, it was very satisfying. The table didn't have the usual salt and pepper but to be honest everything was so well seasoned and cooked that neither my date nor I asked for them. Overall awesome food, good service and the price is right for the quality and taste.

The food and service were honestly really good, but I have to give this place a low rating because a rat ran across the floor by our table halfway through the meal. It was very telling that the staff didn't think it was that big of a deal.

A tremendous location "off the beaten path" with a physical presence that is intimate, low-key, and one-of-a-kind. The brilliantly-decorated layout is elegant in a "post-industrial chic" type of manner. The food and drink are good, and the espresso is a real treat, but the setting and ambiance set this place apart. And when there is a piano player there, you can crank the warm ambiance up to "11."

Got the meatballs and crostinis as appetizers. Everyone told me to get the chicken parm, which I did, but it was completely rubbery and felt like it had was reheated after sitting around for two days.

Everyone else at my party said the food was okay but certainly not worth the price.

Ambiance was nice and staff was friendly. Maybe they were just having an off day.

The food was solidly good. The pasta wasn't quite al dente but wasn't mushy by any means either. I tried the pasta with sausage and broccoli rabe. I definitely recommend it. I've been in for drinks and a work event, but recently got to sit down and enjoy dinner for the first time. Safe to say it won't be my last.

One of the worst experiences I've had at a restaurant. We got seated and didn't get waited on for 20 minutes then proceeded to wait another 20 minutes or even longer just for ice water for the table! The waiter was not attentive at all and at one point spilled a good amount water and ice on the table while filling drinks and apologized before he walked away and didnt do a thing to clean it up. Will not be going back here.

The worst steak I ve had since living in the east coast. Received a burnt steak that was supposed to be medium rare and even worse it was just a giant piece of fat. Atmosphere was pretty good but won t be eating there again.

Great staff!!! Drinks were wonderfully made. Had an alfred o sauce that I think they forgot to put cheese in. So bland and no flavor but pasta was cooked to perfection . Everything else..just perfect that was served. Carved beef was AMAZING! Again..can't say enough about the staff...outstanding. I won't hold a star for the sauce because we were in a party of about 40 people and for this small restuarant, they did a very good job on taking care of us as well as their customers who came outside our party!!!

I love this place!! The atmosphere is casual but classy and beautiful artwork line the walls. Its in a great location. Right across from the park. They have outdoor seating which is nice to seated at when you are drinking one of their refreshing rhubarb cucumber margaritas. The meatballs are a must try here.

Don't know what the hype is all about, the food is below average. Every dish we ordered was watery and bland. Honestly, bread was the best thing we had the whole dinner.

Our server looked miserable and barely wanted to speak to us half of us didn't hear the specials. My wife mentioned to me that she smelled alcohol on his breath.

Restaurant is not family friendly. Despite loud music, we could hear weird sounds and obscenities coming from the kitchen. We were so shocked by what we heard during our dinner that we decided to cut it short and go somewhere else. I never heard anything like it in my whole life!

GP's is a local neighborhood favorite. With a contemporary, yet familiar menu and interior aesthetic, and exceptional service, it has consistently delivered each time I've dined there. The burrata is delicious, as is the eggplant rollitini. Another member of my party and I found the orrechetti to be a little too spicy, yet it was still tasty. The bolognese is also a hit. The wine list is decent too! Come for the good food, service, and ambiance. You won't be disappointed!

GP's is a great recent addition to the Jersey City food and bar scene. The food is what I'd call upscale Italian, with many classic dishes executed very well, some innovative, more modern interpretations and extremely high quality, fresh ingredients. Their scallops for instance I believe are "day boat" scallops, caught and delivered fresh daily. Almost everything I've had has been delicious, in particular the Paccheri Rigatoni which is Braised Beef Brisket, Spicy Green Salsa. The staff is super friendly and the bar seating provides a nice spot casual dinner and drinks. During good weather they also have several tables for outdoor seating. Great weekend brunch spot too.

Perhaps one of the most underwhelming Italian dinners I've had. Price was fair, pasta was cooked perfect but our entree was waaaaaaay over salted, and tasted pretty terrible. Waitstaff seemed hesitant everytime I would ask their opinion on different menu items, responding in a very cryptic way which made me think nothing on the menu was that great. Oddly enough a dinner salad accompanied the bread (which was nice and crusty) but it was just raw vegetables, no dressing or anything. Bizarre. Fried mozzarella was pretty good but it was so melted it was almost like eating a big pile of cheese off the top of a pizza. Probably wouldn't come back, which is dissapointing because it has great ambiance history, and a great reputation.

This Italian restaurant is located at a nice part of the town of jersey city . The hostess greet us with a warm smile and the wait for a table is of no more than 10 minutes. Meanwhile, we were sipping very well made drinks at the sound of girl from Ipanema that's been played by a soothing voice at the piano in front of us. The restaurant warm hearted owner gives us recommendations for our main course and the Shrimp scampi and meatballs recommended were outstanding! The restaurant vibe promotes good conversation, laughs and a high quality time. Highly recommend the place for delicious meals, well prepared drinks, excellent wine list and for overall dining experience!

Ambiance was nice and the service was great. But the food was so horrific, I couldn't finish it. I got the penne with sausage and broccoli rabe... And my husband got the linguini with clams. The clams tasted like they came from a can but somehow still went bad. And the sauce from my penne dish smelled like a dish rag. I never return food to the kitchen so we just paid and left. We will NEVER EVER return

Food portions are generous and the food is flavorful. Mostly classic Italian inspired dishes. She had the Sea Bass and I had the Chicken with Sausage, both very good. Menu is very simple and easy to navigate with all you favorite choices of chicken, fish, lamb, veal, and steak. Had a beautiful night so we were able to sit outside with our dog and people watch as we enjoyed our martinis. Great location on Hamilton Park. Seems a little pricey but nothing that would stop me from going back.

Not my favorite but a good stand by if you live nearby. Nice bartender but pricey for what it is. Wine is overpriced for mass market, commercial brands. Needs to have a happy hour especially in the cold winter months. No one wants to go to a place with only one or two tables are taken. Better vibe in summer.
