Hamilton Pork Review

Ate here for lunch with a friend and we loved the food, drinks, open air style venue and the friendly staff. Lick your fingers kinda place.

This place makes me look like a pit master. Brisket is garbage. Beans are junk. Reminds me of someone who has money that watched a reality show on bbqin and decided to open a BBQ joint who has zero experience. And I know the rents probably high over there but $70 for what amounted to an appetizer is not acceptable. If you need a place to rent look at 247 10th street. Can't see them lasting there too much longer with this "quality down home BBQ".

Great food and drinks are descent (not your usual rum and coke on the menu)

Absolutely love this place for BBQ. It's expensive so I certainly don't eat here often but it's really good. I'm not sure if I pretty this or Mighty Quinns. My wife and I usually go with the sampler and get the brisket and a double order of pork belly. The pork belly is absolutely ridiculous, one of my favorite things.

There are 2 reasons Hamilton Pork is the perfect eatery during quarantine. 1, their BBQ & sandwiches are perfect to-go meals. 2, they have spacious and aesthetic outdoor dining in the back of the restaurant (I didn t get a pic cause I ordered to go this time!)

Highly rec the chicken sandwich. This place has plenty of amazing sauces and this sandwich is perfect for dunking.

Would've given it 5 stars but it's not that perfect.

The Carne Asada tacos could've been done better, and needed that Mexican kick to them. The table had hot sauce in a bottle but it's your typical off the shelf hot sauce. Nothing special. The meat sampler is probably the best thing to get cause you're trying everything. The pork belly was probably my favorite. The fat was so succulent and tasty. The ribs were also good but I've tried better.

The drinks were on point. The beer selection was also good with a nice selection of drafts.

I would recommend coming here as it's a nice place to sit and enjoy your food. Servers are always attentive and ready for your service just as it should be. I will continue dining here as long as they keep it up!

Four people, two of whom ordered the sampler... everything was delicious! Quick, friendly service. We'll definitely be revisiting.

Food was delicious, my wife didn't like it but that sounds like her problem. I'll be going back for guys night out! Maybe add some free chips and salsa as an appetizer, home made salsa not the generic kind lol.

I used Hamilton Pork to cater a family gathering. John, one of the managers, was great at responding back to my emails in a timely fashion and making sure all of my questions were answered. The food came out great! My family, who's not familiar with the JC area, loved the bbq and sides! The sweet potato mash is the best!

Cool atmosphere and very friendly staff! I came here for a dinner with my girlfriend and we decided to split two orders - the brisket and the pulled chicken. We also got a side of the Mexican Street Corn, which was just loaded with flavor.

All of the food was good, real barbecue. I wasn't blown away by anything in particular, but it also wasn't anywhere near bad - it was good, solid BBQ food. The meats were tasty and portions were a pretty good size. Like I said earlier, the Mexican Street Corn was loaded with flavor and probably both of our favorite things - my girlfriend was raving about it. She also was a big fan of the pulled chicken in particular. I will say I really enjoyed their Asian-inspired BBQ sauce that they have on the table - that definitely added a lot of flavor.

I've heard good things about their brunch, I'm sure we'll be back to try that as well at some point. For now, I'm glad we found an "A-OK" BBQ spot with a cool atmosphere and real barbecue food.

5 stars for the lamb belly - well seasoned and super tender; it could melt in my mouth. BBQ side could be more thoughtful - spicy coleslaw is bit plain; Brussels sprouts is on sweet side. Mexican street corn could have more cheese:) definitely solid bbq meat, it s hard to go wrong.

The food and the ambiance were good. I would have hoped for a better variety in beer choices but the service made up for all of it. Great place you should try if ever you re in Jersey City.

Hamilton pork was delicious! It's not hard to find either, since you can smell the delicious BBQ from down the block! When we stopped in on a Monday evening we were seated immediately. The menu boasts a collection of BBQ staples, both sides and entrees. Service was fast and friendly! Definitely check it out!

The restaurant is in what appears to be an old fire house or garage. Tastefully decorated using recycled things such a storage container used as the bar. The bathroom faucets are interesting looking valves soldered into the pipes. Makes a very interesting display. When we got there we were seated at the front table. Be careful as there are drafts coming from the garage door side. The ribs were ok, a bit dry and hard. The sampler platter $23 was good but was expecting more than what I got. A shot of whiskey was $10. No sides are included, they are Ala Carte. We got fries, Mexican salad and Cole slaw. In all, it was OK but be prepared to pay a little more if you are hungry.

Always great service at bar or tables; staff is excellent. Food is very good, just that portions aren't 5 star worthy for what you pay. Drinks add up real quick but great selection of whiskeys / bourbons / tequilas.

First time here and had a great experience! Good atmosphere and amazing food! The meat was all perfectly cooked, desserts were amazing, and margaritas were fabulous! The staff was also very friendly. Highly recommended

This place is delicious. We were all so impressed with our meals that we barely spoke to each other until we came up for breath after the last bite. The lamb belly and esquites are to die for but the brisket sausage is also a winner.

Really enjoyed a lunchtime holiday (first time) visit with the team...everyone had something different and no one was disappointed. My Philly and Al Pastor tacos were something special, and the burnt end beans were worth a trip back all by themselves. Will definitely be back...

Great addition to Hamilton park. Really nice interior, friendly staff, smells amazing. Smoker needs some age, but sauce up their meats and it's divine.

Best southern comfort food in jersey city. The brisket and mac & cheese is mouthwatering delicious. Great happy hour specials for cheap drinks too

Decent food (we went on a Tuesday night) and the service was ok.

Excellent food. Smaller portions than normal BBQ, but not overly expensive. The space is not cramped with tables, so it's a relaxing atmosphere.

The best barbecue place in the area. Especially brisket is something. They also have very good sangria

Great place! You choose the animal and they slaughter the pig at your table. Staff was very helpful, although there was an extra charge on there for "white privilege" I didn't appreciate. Check out the brunch on the weekends! $5 mimosas for the win!

What can you say? The perfect joint. Best BBQ, sublime sides and sweet service. Drinks are ace, food is top notch and the atmosphere is always great.

If you love meat, go for the mixed $25 platter for your choice of cuts. Love the Mexican Corn and Old Fashioned Smoke Shows too.

It doesn't shout that it's the best BBQ. It doesn't need to. It knows.

Food was good but the prices were really high. There are other bbq places within a few miles that are actually a lot cheaper and definitely tastier. This was a one time visit for me

I really enjoy the pull pork sandwiches, just add more BBQ sauce please!!

The food is really good. I think this is a must to go in NJ.

Ordered delivery, which was prompt and food hot.

My favorite was the sweet potato mash; wow! It was like pumpkin pie; so good.

The beef ribs were superb, a fantastic smoky taste with plenary of fat; however portions are a little small. The tangy bbq sauce was welcome, but not needed. Oh, these ribs were so charred and yet the fat was still juicy and carmalized; all the tendons even slid right off the bone, and each peice was delicious to eat. I had to remind myself to use the bbq sauce because the meat was just that good.

They get 5-Stars from me, because it is abnormally delicious food, however in my opinion portions are small and pricey. A grown man is unlikely to get FULL here for less than $40, but that price is worth it in my opinion.

I will most definitely order from them again, but it has to be a rare expensive treat, not everyday.

Better selection of beer and alcohol than food. Food is good... at best. Not great but surprisingly decently priced.

The food, service and atmosphere are all fantastic. This is my favorite place in JC for Covid-era outdoor dining. You can't go wrong with the brisket.

Ordered delivery from here, I'll expand on my review if/when I eat in the restaurant. Delivery was quick (~25-30 mins to downtown JC), opened the bag and immediately realized the coke we ordered was not in it. Slightly disappointing. Looked More

We loved the place. Very welcoming and warm. We had pulled pork worth French fries and avocado salad with pulled pork and they both were delicious! The portion seemed the right size to us. We had a nice time.

really really but really disappointed we ordered online and after 3 hours we received the order and the worst that the food was cold more the delivery man tells us about salads and they tell us like whatever the food was being redone (lie was cold )

There's better barbeque to be found in Jersey city. Theirs is made in some kind of metal commercial smoker. The cornbread is good, but it's not worth going here. The plates are small and sparse. Try South House instead.

This place is hands down my favorite restaurant in Jersey City. The tacos are perfection every time, and the margaritas are strong! The staff go out of their way to be friendly & make sure the customers are well taken care of. Not happy the Cubano taco is gone (RIP) but hopefully it will come back at some point!

Absolutely amazing service and the food was excellent. All the meats were fantastic and our server David was the most attentive and professional waiter I've ever had in a restaurant. Can't stress enough how great the food was though.

Delicious pork place, and I am a judgmental southerner when it comes to BBQ pork! Food was excellent. Great setting near Hamilton Park, which is awesome. Service was great.

The best BBQ of all my life. The Lamb Belly is a delight. There is no piece of meat that is not juicy, the attention is great and the restaurant's atmosphere is beautiful. I'm not giving it a higher grade because you can't.

I am an Uber eats driver. I mistakenly walked in this establishment thinking it was the Hamilton Inn. Right after I was redirected to the other restaurant the tall white man behind the hostess podium stated, I would ve never thought you were an Uber eats driver, you re so well dressed and well spoken. I am throughly disgusted with this comment because it is blatantly CLASSIST!!! Assuming an Uber eats driver isn t a professional or can not be well dressed and well spoken is a HORRIBLE Statement. I have eaten in this establishment before but I will no longer return and I will make sure I share this experience with all of my friends and family.

The environment, Food, Service and Drinks is great. Gigantic beef rib is really gigantic and awesome.

Food it's delicious (for the meat lovers), clean, music is excellent, it's a kid friendly place, very nice!

A hidden BBQ place a bit off to the side from Newport center. Great food and decor once you find it.

Love the ribs here. Their outside sitting area is great too. Definitely will be back for more of their delicious meats!

Never heard of the lamb belly at a BBQ place. Very well done, amazing taste. Mac n cheese is another highlight. Will definitely recommend.

The word that best describes this establishment is overpriced.

The macaroni is tasty, but comes in at $9 for nothing more than kraft velveta in a cup.

I ordered the shortrib, which tasted good, but the size of the serving was ludicrously small.

The Corn bread was underwealming as well.

The place does have a cool neon sign out front

Also I am still hungry.

Food was decent, prices were decent. But, it was FAR from a barbecue joint that I would crave or recommend

Yum, Yum .. awesome giant beef ribs and so tender in your mouth watery brisket. I was eating it don fast I had no chance to snap a picture. This is a quite a hidden gem in the middle if a residential neighborhood. These residents are very lucky to have this place so close !!

As a take out order i had the crispy chicken sandwich and the sweet mashed potatoes. Overall my experience is 5 stars, but i took a star away because the chicken breast was too small! It was very delicious, however the bun was quite a bit larger than the chicken. I will definitely be going back!

Have been in town for a little over a week and this was my favorite bar and restaurant. Great atmosphere and great food, great cocktails.
