Friendly bookshop selling a good variety of books. The service we received was top notch, the lady we spoke to was very helpful and assisted us with the questions we had. We will definitely use this shop again.

Lovely traditional bookshop with a wonderful selection of children's books. Makes a welcome change from the bland high street offering or online book buying - my children are asking to go back already! In addition to the books, they stock an unrivalled selection of cards and wrapping paper which is great if you're looking for something a bit more special than the boring selections you get on the high street and in supermarkets these days. A real gem.

excellent children section. Nice train for them to sit in and bean bags. only let down is access. Large steps so not suitable for wheel chairs and struggle with buggy otherwise would have given 5 stars

A really lovely bookshop. You don't see many bookshops like this now which is a shame. Was browsing for some time but did not feel pressured to buy anything - even though I did! The lady who served me was very pleasant and friendly. Not just books there is a brilliant range of cards and the most stunning wrapping papers. Will definitely do a return visit.

A wonderful gem in our beautiful town. Brilliant and friendly staff and a great selection of books. I am a regular visitor and I firmly believe the bookshop is a real asset to Steyning. If you have not visited recently, I encourage you to do so.

Having read the more negative reviews about this shop I can only question whether indeed we are discussing the same shop or just whether they are a couple of sad unfortunates who have been battered into following corporate choice, particularly the person who compared their choice of stock to one of the larger chains in Brighton - well, that's a bit like walking into a corner shop and complaining that they don't have the same level of choice as a larger supermarket.

This shop is a delight, the staff love books, which is more than can be said for a majority of the people who work in the larger shops and see it as just 'a job'. Inform them of the age of your child and the sorts of things they like and the staff are more than happy to assist in finding the perfect book for you.

Never change, fantastic little shop.

Friendly, knowledgeable staff, a good selection of books as a great children's section (including a big wooden train to play on). In addition to all this they regularly have guest authors for talks and signings, including from time to time Julia Donaldson.
