Several well maintained walking trails that lead to an old quarry and on to the rocky beach below. There are several places to stop and capture the perfect moment along the way. Only downside could be some of the trails were a bit steep for anyone with mobility issues. But we were able to fully enjoy a very scenic walk along this state park!

This place has a quarry and access to a Rocky beach area. The park area is very well maintained. Overall the place is very beautiful & serene.

A beautiful state park where you can walk around an old quarry and sit on rocks or view the ocean from an above overlook which is often chilly and windy or from a below path that is much warmer....can be hot so for those sensitive to heat only go a short distance down below. Here you can climb over rocks and found a private and once closer to the ocean, usually cool spot, to pass time and watch the waves. In sum, walking around the quarry can feel hot and below on the ocean path but you also find cool breezier spots especially on the overlook to the ocean area. Beautiful sunsets from the overlook sometime in summer and during the season of fireflies, its enchanting to walk out of the park at dusk. Along the quarry walk, i found rock number 6 to be breezy while the half of the path i had walked to have little breeze. While you are in the area and if you leave rockport through lanesville there is a dock area with a big wall people climb up upon to watch sunset at this time of year in june. Not right off the road but with a little exploration yoj can find it.

Great hiking and educational experience. My girlfriend and I loved learning about the granite mining that occurred here. Be sure to check out the flat rocks that lead down to the ocean. Beautiful!

A short walk transports you to a tranquil seaside setting full of colorful tidal pools. There still remains signs of the old stone harvesting industry. If you look closely, you will find short pieces of straw in cracks where they used the power of expanding straw to split the rock into sheets.

The quarry is really cool, a large pool of fresh water, just feet from the vast crashing ocean. Quite a setting with literally thousands of great photo opportunities. Pack a lunch, bring a friend or a group of kids. There is plenty to see & do for hours. Oh, wear strap on sandals, hiking boots, tennis shoes, but skip the flip flops, they will only impair your explorations.

I absolutely love this place. It's one of the few places that u can just stare out into the ocean & feel so close to it as well. It also has some great walking trails that make u feel as if your at the end of the world. Peaceful & calming

A great park with wonderful scenic views. There are a few different trail options and paths you can take, leading around the quarry, up to the scenic overlook, or out to the rocky shore. We took our dogs and they had a great time.

Some of the paths do get quite narrow, so you have to stay aware of what's up ahead or around the corner. Also a lot of the paths out around the ocean are very rocky and uneven, with steep step-ups and downs, so avoid those if you're looking for a more relaxing/easy walk.

Stopped here on a whim for lunch in our RV. Decided to go hiking with my wife. Boy were we in for a treat. Easy trails. Nice history and views of at least a century old quarry with rock dated millions of years ago. Then fabulous ocean views to add. What a wonderful day.

One of my favorite parks, winter or summer. Lots of places to walk, fish, picnic. $5 for parking with MA plates. Bathrooms and visitor center not open so far during pandemic. Great for kids, but edges of quarry are a danger. Tide pools, roses, beautiful spot for photography.

This was my first experience with Halibut Point and it will mostly certainly not be my last! This place is pretty magical. From the lush greenery, the crashing wave, to the cleansing salty air, there is so much to explore and see at this place! I know I only saw a small portion, but feel in love with how lush this place is. <3 Worth a visit for sure!

I love this place it reminds me of Maine how the rocks meet the sea. I have gone snorkeling off of rocks. You need to be careful because of barnacles and mussels. There is no sand beach but there are no greenheads which is a huge plus.

This has been one of my favorite places to go walking/hiking for over 35 years. I always loved climbing on the rocks as a kid and now I see the same joy on the faces of my own children. Be aware that the parking lot can fill up and then they have a strange policy of closing the lot for 2 hours regardless of how many cars leave. There is also no shade at all once you get past the initial tree-covered trails so this may not be a great option on extremely hot days. For a great lunch after hiking, try The Lobster Pool which is just a little down the road.

Such a beautiful park. One of the hidden gems of the State Park/Trustees system. You get the great views of the beautiful water filled granite quarry with the wide open ocean right behind it. I could sit down on those rocks at the water and relax for days. The area around the quarry is handicap accessible. They do have a small museum that is open usually on the weekends, you can also walk up into the tower that is there. Down by the ocean there is an adult playground that makes you feel like Fred Flintstone where you can make cairns (rock towers) with cut up granite from the site. The reason it lost a star is the lack of parking, there is a parking lot but it fills up really quick on peak days.

Beautiful and interesting park. Next to the rocky shore is an old quarry with an easy walking trail marked with historical and other information about the quarry process. There is also a fun search for kids and/or adults with a "treasure map" which can be found at the information booth in the parking lot. You can walk down to the ocean here, not so easy a walk as the rest of the trail, but worth the effort. Kiosk to pay for parking. Helpful park staff

A terrific hiking, running, or swimming spot. The Halibut Point State Park is a beautiful location located on the ocean with scenic views. It is also the site of a historic granite quarry which has been filled in by rain and a natural spring. Its a great place to spend an afternoon!

Beautiful, clean park in a lovely area of Rockport. Nice walking trails and you can go off a bit onto the rocks (at your own risk). Amazing coastal views! The quarry is also very pretty and clear.
