Great location to spend couple hours easily. Nice walking trail, quarry filled with blue water, ducks perching and nice boardwalk leads to rocky beach. If you bring your own food, there are a few picnic benches.

Wow! This is a stunning park that is easy. The rocks near the ocean are a workout but the park itself is clean. There are historic homes from the 1700 s in there. The drive to the park is beautiful and scenic.
This is a beautifully maintained Massachusetts state park that is open year round. It puts the beauty of the North shore of the state on display. It also has a historical significance in that much of the granite used in the construction of the state was quarried here. My wife and I have been here several times over the years and enjoy the ocean views and I particularly enjoy the number of birds in the area. As we have aged we have developed some mobility issues. However, we can still enjoy the full experience of Halibut point due to the well cared for walking trails. They are mostly even footing but there are areas with steep hills. They provide maps of the area that highlight the points of interest along the way and can guide you on the path equal to your physical abilities. It is worth the 2 1/2 hour drive from our Western Mass home. The town's of Rockport and Glouchester offer a wide variety of shopping and dinning. I hope you enjoy your trip here if you please remember to leave a donation in the lock box as all donations are used to maintain the site and to make improvements to the site such as the toilet they now have in the parking lot. They have handicapped parking and most of the trails I would consider to be wheel chair accessible.
I love that not a lot of people know about this place because it was secluded and not overly busy even on a weekend. It's absolutely beautiful and perfect for a shorter hike/walk. Definitely recommend it to others in the Boston area.
Great place for a walk. Can bring dogs on leash. Beautiful scenery. Walk around lake in old granite pit and walk down to beach. You can also walk to overlook for beautiful ocean view
Great place for a family stroll or picnic. Has picnic tables by the quarry area. If you head towards the ocean majority of the rocks are flat which is great for a picnic lunch or afternoon snacks as well. If anyone and their family do visit and eat, please pick up after yourselfs. Seen a few people leave their trash behind and that is not ok. The tables in the quarry area have shade from the trees. By the ocean I suggest an umbrella or some sort of other type shading since you are out in the open. It is a great place to relax. Water usually super nice, warning though, you swim at your own risk in the ocean since no life guards. In quarry no swimming is allowed.
Really nice park for a short walk and a picnic. There's a loop around the quarry (now filled with water) and also a path leading to the ocean, which is perfect for picnicking and watching ships go by. Very easy walk and fairly short. The parking lot is paid, but free if you have a dcr pass.
The park was not crowded at all when we got there early. The views of the quarry and ocean were stunning. By the time we left close to noon streams of people were flooding into the park. Go early for the most tranquil experience.
Peaceful Stone beach where you can sit above the waves and soak in the sights, sounds and energy. If you come all the way to Rockport and don't spend a few hours here, you are missing out on the best rock beach South of Maine. I've visited for 20 years and it never gets old. Don't walk on the wet black rocks, I've seen dozens fall over the years. There is plenty to enjoy without risking that sudden slip. (Specially if you are a dad carrying your kid - don't be that dumb dad)
Lovely day to go out with the family. We were on an adventure to do all new things we had not yet done together as a family. Decided to come here and check out this state park. Place was beautiful and kept well clean. There was plenty of room for all types of family gatherings. Looking forward to coming back in the warmer days!
A wonderful park! Good trails for walking and excellent views of the ocean. Anyone near the Boston area should definitely give this place a try on a nice day.
A very nice park. However, it is a bit small if you really want to walk a bit. The paths to the coast are moderately signposted, so that in the end we struggled through a narrow trail in the scrub. Even in summer there are not so many people in the park that it makes a full impression. $ 10 parking is not a small amount. Unfortunately there is a parking problem along the entire coast.
The quarry is filled with still water that is is sharp contrast with the sea in the background and make a very nice view - it has nice westerly views and perfect at sunset
