Talented actors, great show, theater is a little run down

The Orem Hale Center Theater is dated, but that lends to its charm and intimate environment. We saw the play Daddy Long Legs for the second time because we loved it so much the first time and we couldn't have been more thrilled with the acting and professionality of the production. We are season ticket holders for Hale Center Theater in Salt Lake and now we are considering purchasing season tickets in Orem. There is no where in the country that you can see this type of professionally produced family friendly plays for the price! All of Hale Center's productions are a true gem and treasure for our state.

We love going to shows here. Its intimate but that makes them be more creative! Seen 6 different shows!

HTC in Orem is WONDERFUL! I love it's small and cozy atmosphere and Oh so excellent performances.

I saw a great play, Million Dollar Quartet. It will be there for another week or so. See it if you can. It's wonderful and is not a bad seat in the house.

My family loves the Hale in Orem. The small cozy theater creates an environment which requires creativity. No matter how much I love a play, I always seem to love it more when it goes to this theater.

Loved Big River. Saw it a few years ago. Acting is always great. The canned music limits the performances.

Just finished watching Anything Goes and it was phenomenal! Great show!

The annual production of A Christmas Carol is phenomenal! Such a good show in a nice small and personal setting.

Fun shows. Great date night. Theater in the round so you are very close to all the actors.

Love this theatre, the productions they put on and the sets, actors and singers. Bravo!

Always a great time. Season tickets are a good way to go. A perennial favorite that be has become a tradition with our family. Just a quick note for those who might benefit, there are scattered throughout some seats which are wider than others. Check the seating map before you book your seats if this would be beneficial to you. Also, during intermission when the bathroom is crowded don't forget about the extra bathrooms in the basement.

Very intimate setting to watch a play. I do not have good eyes and I was able to enjoy a play tonight.

Although their current facility is a bit cramped for space, the productions are well done. Great acting, good staging and fun props. And about half the price of HCT in Salt Lake.

Outdated but still great. The theater is very old, but they always do a great job. The way they can make such a small space do so much, is nothing short of amazing.

Amazing. Christmas story is a must see. Frist play in yrs and just wow.

Great plays performed by excellent actors. Many have performed professionally in New York and other bigger city locations. Very good selection of plays such as: Annie, Daddy Long Legs, Christmas Carol and Little Mermaid.

Love Hale Center Theater in Orem! I grew up in Utah county so I ve been here a few times over the past 20 years :) even though their stage and seating is more limited than their Sandy counterpart, their shoes are much more intimate and dare I say creative. I also participated as a character when Orem did their summer parade and it was a blast! Go see a play here and you ll be glad you did.

The Hale has a few flaws but overall it is amazing what they do with the space. The actors are always fabulous. I usually hate about one play a year but even then the play is well acted and directed :) I've had season tickets for many years now!!

A wonderful theater filled with good people and incredible shows.

I thought I would offer an alternative to all of the glowing, rah-rah reviews listed here. Hale Center Orem is only a five star theater if you have low expectations. The venue is cramped and run down, from outside to inside. Outside, you'll usually have to park in the dirt/mud. If you don't, expect your car to get doored in the skinny parking spaces. Inside, if you're over 5'9", expect your knees to get bashed and your legs to cramp up from being folded underneath you. If you ever need customer service, forget about it. If you talk to three different people, you'll get three different answers. If you talk to one person, the answer you get may or may not be true. They're too unprofessional to know better than make nasty and false comments about their own customers.

My advice? Find a better theater. Hale Center in Sandy isn't that far away and is better in every conceivable way. If SL County isn't your cup of tea, check out the plays and musicals at the Covey Center in Provo. Literally everywhere I've seen live stage in both Utah and SL counties have been superior to the mess that is Hale Center Orem.

Went to see Newsies and it was so good! Very small so your close to the action and production is very high quality.

Small, but a fun place to spend your anniversary. Saw the odd couple. Very funny! Wonderful food catered by Magleby's. Great time. My wife got us front row tickets, so it was like we were sitting in the play. Very small theatre. They will be getting a new site in a few years, so take advantage of this small theatre while it is still there.

This is the 4th production I've seen at Hale, and I've always been impressed at how well the actors draw you into the story. The small theatre in the round presents unique opportunities for sets and adaptations of any script.

#1 thing to do in Orem, by far!

Edit: Bring a coat. They always keep this place frigid, even during the winter. My wife keeps her coat and gloves on all the way through every show.

We saw tarzan in st george at tuachan. The performance at hale was hands down ,the best!

Best play I've ever seen aside from Broadway. When you first walk in it seems crazy and so not worth the price you pay for tickets (I still think they could be a little cheaper so it's adorable for families) but it was so good and more than I could ever of imagined. The man that played Scrooge was amazing!

We attended one of their youth performances - Peter Pan. The performance was well done and they are giving young people great preparation for adult stage parts when they are older.

Plays here are not to.be underestimated. Amazing acting.

Small intimate theater. The "Million Dollar Quartet" was great.

Just saw Blink. Best play of year. Great actors, super script and message. Love how they separate family groups to maintain social distance.

Amazing play! I saw Tarzan, and everything, from acting, to environment, to costumes, to prices are top notch! As a theater fantic, this is exactly what I look for when I see a play! Definitely would recommend. Just make sure you know where you're sitting, as seats can be confusing.

The productions at Hale center theater are first class. I always enjoy an evening there.

Intimate theater "in the round" . So close you feel IN the play.
The Play I saw "Letters to Ruth" best show I've seen in years. Acting superb, near perfect type casting. Highly recommend the Center.

A unique theater experience with great performances. The exterior is a little old, but the actual theater is wonderful and the content is excellent.

Hale Center Theater Orem does a fantastic job. I'm always impressed with the quality level of their actors and singers. They make a small space seem huge. I've seen many shows there and each one has been spectacular. Definitely tops the list of local theaters I've been to.

I was given tickets here for free, so I don't know what the value is, but for such a small place/theater, they pulled off quite a show. The singing wasn't exemplary, but I'm a musician, so maybe my ears are a bit too critical.

Been going here for years to see every single play, I am never disappointed. Wonderful costumes, amazing actors, and an overall uplifting experience each and every time.

I love Hale. They really put on a good show. However, there is no leg room in the auditorium. Worth it though.

We never fail to have a wonderful time here! Seeing one of their shows is a treat. The comedies never fail to deliver great laughs. Acting is always fabulous.

Small open center stage theater. Watched "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels." Creative sets for such a small stage is always impressive. Cast always gives thier all! Had us laughing most of the evening.

Good place to take school kids they let him see the actors and behind stage

This theater is awesome. It's a small theater in the round, with very well performed productions. Usually the actors are locals, but sometimes an actor with Broadway experience performs. Regardless, the performances are so fun, and this theater is great for a date night. I'd highly recommend anyone to come and enjoy a show here.

Great location with great shows. I've come to a few different productions here in the past few years and enjoyed all of them. I am always impressed by their acting skill and their ability to perform on a circular stage. I have tickets to attend a show in the future and am looking forward to the experience.

We watched The Christmas Carol there. The acting, singing, and humor was very entertaining. I was expecting the usual, like so many Christmas Carol movies, but it was very well done and a lot of new spins were added. They included a lot of Christmas music, and they sang really well. They did a great job of setting in the message of this story. I really liked that it was a smaller venue. The highest rows are only around 20 feet away from the stage. You are always close to the action.

Very fun and intimate theater to watch shows in. It's a little pricey, but I've never been disappointed with a show I've seen here.

This is a decent indoor theatre with young actors from UVU, and I'm sure I will be going back at some point. I can't remember what the performance was though.

They do a really really good job for the size limitations but the proformance was amazing the only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because it does feel really cramped if you get claustrophobic you will not feel comfortable here but, it is really cool place

Super Fun! I saw Newsies and it was great. They had a few technical problems during my show but the cast recovered and it was still a lovely performance.

Love the in-the-round seating for viewing the production but the chairs are not comfortable and are very close together.

The venue is very small and personal. Really enjoyed watching The Million Dollar Quartet last evening. Highly recommended
