Decent Happy Hour at the Bar. I liked my crab cake and the sauces it came with. My fish taco was fine, but less interesting. The calamari was nothing special. My wife's margarita was weak. The happy hour beer selection is very limited and uninteresting. We liked our view. They gave the kids free refills on their drinks.

Our family has been coming to Newport and Balboa for years but this is the first time we tried Harborside Restaurant after a strong recommendation from a good friend who loves the place. Boy do we see why! Everything was outstanding from the terrific harbor views to our waiter Manny's professional yet very comfortable service. Our appetizer, dinners, and desserts were very well prepared in a classic style but with many small careful touches that set them apart and pleasantly surprised us. It was such a nice surprise to find a restaurant that is so much better then the typical "Just OK" places all over Orange County and we will absolutely be back soon.

We love hanging out. Yesterday we arrived in this fine restaurant which friends recommended to us. We spent a beautiful experience there with exceptional meal and an efficient team and a professional chef. We put this place in our phone list and we will no doubt visit again very soon. Highly recommended.

Food terrific, staff attentive and nice. Shout out to Kyle - he went extra mile to make made sure we made our Whale Watching tour time. Highly recommended by my entire family. Would definitely visit again if I'm in the area. I had the Fish and Chips...delicious.

We had a large family gathering for lunch this past Sunday & we were pleasantly delighted. The food was exceptional, the service was wonderful and the views were spectacular. There wasn t any food item in our large party that was under cooked or overcooked or tasted badly. Everything was delicious and was cooked perfectly. The children also enjoyed their meals. Thank you for a wonderful experience and we will definitely be back.

So we made a reservation and showed up 15 mins early and they were still able to seat us almost immediately the server was very nice and got anything we asked for very quickly although after ordering the food it took almost 30 minutes until it arrived, we ordered the lamb rack and chicken piccata the lamb was quite bland and was not very filling or worth the price, the chicken was extremely tasty and filling, in all honestly the prices seem like you are paying for the Oceanside view and the fancy look of the place.

I adore this place! They serve awesome dishes, they have a nice menu, The chief cook in that place is well trained, I love a lot tasting all their food. The food is consistently tasty, the service towards the clients is good. I often eat in this place and I was never disappointed. I recommend it with no hesitation.

Wonderful meal in a vintage setting. I hesitated to go and I am so glad I did. The food and service were excellent. We had a very creative and yummi ahi nachos with avocado and Wonton crackers with sesame. Followed by crabcakes like I see less and less goed with nice dressing, light mango salad. Just a pleasure to go with good friendly service and a nice view of the water

We love Harborside, but we want to see the "First Seating" menu return, it offered a 3 course meal for $20 for early birds on weekdays and this was a big draw. You don't have to sit in the window to get a good harbor view, and the view is equally nice day or night. We have enjoyed a nice dinner there for the past 3 Christmas Eve's, and go there for birthdays. It is nice to take a walk in the area after dinner to work off some of that Mudd Pie. The food is usually well prepared and the staff has always been very nice. We haven't partaken in the Happy Hour menu but it looks very enticing. I recommend it for Romantic Dates, Families, guests from out of town and any occasion in between.

Delicious food and an amazing view into the harbor. We came here after taking a whale watching cruise and ordered the calamari, fish tacos, and a club sandwich. The calamari was probably the best I ever had. Definitely recommend this restaurant!

Perfect family holiday spot. the food is fantastic, the people lovely, and the buffet is massive and fresh hot delicious. I do not know what that review is about regarding the service. Its a BUFFET.
The wait staff ive ever experienced was delightful attentive and kind. Newport Beach and the surrounding area Costa Mesa and
Corona Del Mar have great spots to eat with great service.

Amazing amazing food. The special of the day on Memorial Day 2019 was a mixed seafood Thai curry. Mussels, crab legs, halibut, clams, salmon, shrimp with some toasted bread for dipping and jasmine rice. This is one of the best dishes I have had in a while! Come in and enjoy!

Excellent and accommodating restaurant. Food quality and wine selection is far above average for the surrounding area. A frequent choice, providing you demonstrate some patience with traffic and parking.

I had not been here for a long time and forgot how good it was. I came back again because of Orange County restaurant week. We choose the 40 dollar special menu for Orange county restaurant week. It was serve with Pinot Noir or chardonney, which would be $9 if ordered seperate. Since my boy was under age they were willing to give him a smootie instead of the wine, I appreiciate that. The appetizer we had tried the salad, New England Clam Chowder and the crispy coconut fried shrimp. We especially like the Clam Chowder.
Our entree would be Alaskan Halibut, which was mild and good portion. We also had Cioppino which was like a seafood bowl. It did had a lot of good stuff in there. The New Zealand Rack of Lamb was good too.

After all those food and wine it would be nice to head down to Balboa Pier to take a walk.

Surf and turf style restaurant right on the water with a harbor view. Decent but not amazing food. Lobster Bisque is ok, King Crab Legs are ok, Fillet is ok. Orange Crusted Salmon (Asian style) is very good. The banana bunuelos dessert is amazing. The sever named Manny is the best server in all of Orange County!

I was on the Taste of Newport Beach food tour recently, and this place was one of the stops. The group had a sample of the ahi "nachos", which were really just wantons covered in ahi tuna and avocado. Well, it was so good that some of us decided to go there for a late lunch a few hours after the tour. We went during happy hour (which, incidentally, goes from 11am - 6pm *every day*), which is a great time to go because not only is the restaurant not overly-crowded yet, but everything on the Happy Hour menu was $4.

So, we got around to trying the following from their HH menu: salmon cake, foot of onion rings, chicken lettuce wraps, clam chowder, black mussels, and of course, the ahi "nachos".

The clam chowder, onion rings, mussels, and ahi nachos were all winners. These apetizers were all delicious, and I wouldn't hesitate to order any of them (again) if I am every back at Harborside. A note about the onion rings: it is literally a foot of ring! They coming steaming hot on a skewer tower!

The salmon cakes and lettuce wraps, in contrast, did not impress. Despite this, we didn't leave feeling too bad, since $4 is a damn good price for decent sized appetizers in a restaurant with a water view.

Great local spot, we love stopping by for a quick drink or appetizers. When we're on the the boat they are always friendly to help with a quick refill . The staff is hardworking and nice.

I know you're supposed to eat seafood at a seafood restaurant, but I decided to try something else. I ordered the pot roast with fingerling potatoes and green beans... it was the best I'd ever had! The roast was tender and juicy and the au jus was so flavorful. I was blown away! The fish and chips was also spectacular.
