I celebrated a milestone birthday there on the 4th of July weekend. The service was awesome for my entire party .
The food was Awesome. My entire experience FLAWLESS !

Poor service and warn temperature. We don't think we will be going back soon.

Good for romantic dinner. Dim lighting let's you enjoy the holiday decorated boats outside in the harbor. Friendly staff, attentive. The sourdough bread was killer. Our meals were good. Clean restaurant and bathroom

Very nice place to have lunch overlooking the marina. We haven't had dinner there but I'm sure it would be as nice.

Food was great, but it seemed our server had some memory issues and gave my grandma the wrong sandwich and messed up another order at the table beside us. Crab cake was really great and was made with good quality lump crab! Clam chowder was rich and creamy! Very good!

Omg! Best calamari EVER! I was raised on the ocean and I have never had Calamari that was this amazing ever!

The lobster bisque and crab cake burger were great, my dad loved his clam chowder and my daughters fish and chips were cooked well and fresh! BUT, being stared at the entire time by old white people and having a waitress hesitant to engage, reminds me what kind of area Newport Beach is and I should be scarce with spending money at these businesses the next time I'm in California.

17 dollars for fish and chips, and clam chowder out of a can isn't worth those costs. Waaaaaayyy overpriced. You are paying for a view

Try the ciopinno! It's amazing. Probably one of their best dishes. The restaurant itself is really nice. Nice staff. Great view if you're sitting by the window.

This is the only place to eat in Balboa. I have been going to this location since I was 12 years old.

This restaurant is in a nice area that has alot of history. The food here is very delicious. My wife and I had the lobster bisque and lobster tacos. I highly recommend Harborside for a nice night out. The view here is also a nice one. There is alot going on in the harbor.

Ordered what they called a saloon burger for happy hour $6.00 which actually was one slider. It came out cold bacon hard cheese not melted and bun tasted stale. Fries was cold also, very disappointed. Would not go back. The lobster bisque was good tasting not a lot of lobster but it had good flavor.

Such a great place waitress was so helpful full of life I wish I got her name! The food was good! And the crowd was full of laughs

I called to make a reservation for a party of 9 because the website specifically states to call. The girl who answered acted like she had no idea what I was talking about and said we don't take reservations. I said, okay but I have a party of 9 and your website says to call and she said, well I don't know sorry it's first come first serve.

I know the restaurant takes reservations because it allows you to do it through Yelp for smaller size parties. I was planning on going there this weekend with my family but now unfortunately I won't be. I am not going to have them drive an hour to meet me and we may not be able to be seated.

Maybe update your website if you have no idea what people are talking about when they call to reserve a table. Not very friendly or helpful at all.

Great Happy Hour place.. extended hours 11:30am to 7pm all week look long. Food is good and drinks are reasonable. Nice view, what not to like. Did I mention the staff and service, totally low key and attentive.

When we visit California from Spain we loved to eat there... extremely nice customer service congrats from Europe

Excellent restaurant!! Pleasant interior... nice ambience. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful... service was quick... didn't have to wait very long at all for our food. We had the coconut encrusted salmon - came with mashed potatoes and asparagus - and it was extraordinary!! Just the best ever... seriously!!! Highly recommended!!

Want a lovely night we had here. Called ahead with some special request and was immediately accommodated as to our liking. We had a fabulous table outside, and the food was amazing. Our wait staff was attentive to detail and for me that s a big one. Totally enjoyed and will be sure to visit over and over again when in Cali

I came here during happy hour: Mon at 12. Their happy hour times are pretty generous 11:30am to 7pm or so. Go to the bar side though to take advantage. I made the mistake of going to the restaurant side.

I ordered a cup of lobster bisque, a plate of black mussels and fries, 3 coconut shrimp, and a margarita, all happy hour specials. They varied from $5-6, though there are some cheaper $4 ones as well like mac and cheese.

My favorite out of the 3 dishes would be the black mussels. They seemed relatively fresh and the sauce was good, not too heavy or too light. Fries were good, crispy and hot. Lobster bisque was adequate but not phenomenal. Not enough lobster pieces - there were only a very few scant nibbles. My least favorite was the coconut shrimp, though it wasn't terrible. I think it just had too much fried batter on it, but it was still edible. Margarita was sufficient. Overall, a fair value for what you're paying. I'd come back for their happy hour deals.

I think the big plus of this establishment is the staff. They all seem genuinely happy and want to serve you. They'll chat with you as well if you ask questions. Sidney was my server, and she smiled all the time and was very personable.

Not crowded as expected on a Mon lunch hour, but the bar had enough people to talk to if you wished. I see more older people than younger, but I don't know what the night crowd is like.

Overall, good food and excellent staff.

The coconut shrimp was delicious! The parking was a nightmare but the area was beautiful.

Stopped here for lunch and enjoyed every minute. The food was fresh as could be, prepared exactly to order. No 5 star resort could improve on the service and taste.

Views were of course beautiful from the large windows of Newport Harbor, even enjoyed watching the famous ferries crossing back and forth.

Pricing very reasonable as well! Top marks!

Harborside is one of our Newport Beach favorites. Great view--really beautiful! Great food at happy hour --very reasonable. Lots of choices. Love going there!

What a great view, I had to try thier soups so had a cup of each, Lobster bisque and clam chowder, they both tasted very good. I belive thier happy hour is from 12-7. But it's in the middle of fun zone. So bring the family.

I stopped here last year with a friend after whale watching. We were greeted by a nice friendly face and soon seated. We ordered our drinks, which arrived in minutes prepared just right. Best lemon drop martini ever. We ordered steak and lamb. Both smelled and looked good when we got them. The medium was just that with the right amount of pink. And then there was the view . Sunset. Priceless

The staff was polite but took forever to respond. Everything tasted okay. It wasn t that great as I expected it could be. We ordered the shrimp scampi (which had way too much lemon and pepper), Cioppino (was pretty bland), lobster bisque (was pretty good), calamari tempura, and fish n chips (ok). I do expect more flavors from a restaurant with a 4 star and above rating which I just didn t get. What disappointed me more was my whole family got stomach issues 10 minutes after we left. Everyone was complaining about how much their stomachs were hurting. My stomach has been wonky ever since I left. Truly disappointed. Will not come again.

Beautiful location on the water. My dinner was maybe my favorite meal I've ever had. It was delicious. However, service was not great. I didn't like how I was made to feel lucky to get a table without a reservation even though there were plenty of tables. I didn't like how I had to ask for a children's menu four different times before getting up and finding one myself, I didn't like how I had to beg for water. Still, I would try it again just to eat that salmon one more time. When my food was half gone, I got depressed because it was almost out of my life. Yum.

We went here for Valentine's dinner. Manny was our server and he was excellent - good recommendations, knowledgeable about the menu, and very attentive. We had the ahi steak and the cioppino. Both were great, but the cioppino was a standout. very reasonable prices for the food quality and the location.

We started out in the restaurant but after a long wait for service, we moved to the bar area. The service was exceptional, it was happy hour and the food was very good. The salmon cakes and coconut shrimp are a must and the happy hour pricing makes it even better. You get some great views of the harbor too.

Our food and drinks were delicious, with the exception of the lobster being way too over salted. The prices are a bit high as well, but you re paying for the ballroom-style entourage when you come here. A nice bonus to the meal was the ocean view outside the window.

Harborside Restaurant is EXCELLENT . . . not only nice views of the harbor, but GREAT food, as well. The Rack of Lamb is AMAZING - tender, juicy, & delicious - and, actually, less "gamey" than lamb I've had at other restaurants. The Harborside Burger is also excellent. The servers are very friendly, accommodating, and responsive. We've also never had to wait to get seated . . . and they have a very reasonably Happy Hour, until 7pm, 7 days a week!!! Well DEFINITELY be back soon. Rather than drive all the way down the Balboa Peninsula to get there, we just drive on to Balboa Island, from Jamboree, and then takes the very short (couple of minutes) ferry ride across, which only costs $1 per person . . . totally fun and worth it!

The food was like on a scale of 1/10 Absolutely the worse. We gave this place the benefit of doubt and tried it again it was truly we made a bad call again. Raw meat, Poor Service, The lady at the front desk her customer service was what it that. To many places to eat at this beach area to have to accept mess. Waist of time and money.

Great location! Grab a seat in the bar area for a teriffic view of the water. Came here mid afternoon on a Saturday for some snacks and drinks. The food was great and our server was excellent. Happy that there weren't too many people in the bar during our visit, which made for an even more relaxing experience.

its a awesome view but food really not that good, they forgotto bring water to our kids and service was not paying attention. restaurant also half full on a saturday. lots of things to improve and it could be awesome to go there

My server was EXTREMELY rude. I m sitting at the table. The servers greets us. Then he takes our drink orders. It took him 10 minutes to bring us water. He then takes our drink order again and takes another 10 minutes to deliver that. The server then asked us if we were ready to order and we weren t ready and he seemed annoyed. So my table decided to just order something anyway. After the server delivers the food. He doesn t come by our table until we are complete done with our food. Keep in mind that he didn t give us any refills on our drinks. Ask how the food was NOTHING. So when it was time to pay the bill. He didn t like the tip we left. So he kept walking by the table and saying. This is the tip you re going to leave me. What the f**k. I can t believe you left me this tip . Then he would just stare at us while he was walking back and forth. As if he thought the tip was going to change.

The server wasn t friendly and the customer service was terrible. I feel that he shouldn t feel obligated to a big tip just because he works in a restaurant. Tips are earned not given.

Over it was a traumatizing experience. I will never visit this restaurant again or recommend it

Celebrated a 25th wedding anniversary here! We had a large party but the wait staff was attentive. Their food is excellent (almost as good as the view). The only issue we had was that the coffee served at the end of the meal was cold, but they brewed another batch right away!!

I adore this venue a lot. theres a very nice spirit. The meals are marvelous. the service is effective and the personel is well trained. The pay is satisfactory. truly recommend.
