My first visit today - Charles was spectacular with his high energy and willingness to answer any questions that we had. Great, clean atmosphere with lots of seating to accommodate our larger group. Food was fantastic, highly recommended!
Food was great. Not many people so I was comfortable. I ordered $50 worth of food and only got a fork. $6 for some chips and cheese and 50% of my chips were pieces. Over all, the restaurant was very clean.
The food had so much flavor and the staff and service were great.
I highly recommend getting a margarita from Charles.
Food seemed a bit overpriced and food temperature was not at food standards. Some food came out nice and hot, while the main entree and dip was room temperature.

Not impressed. I didn't know I ordered the salt burrito but that's all I could taste. It seemed like boxed rice mix with even more extra salt added, not authentic or appealing. Paid extra for a smothered burrito and received a regular burrito. Too hungry to complain but it was still really hard to eat.
I can't say enough about this place. We celebrated my daughters 30th birthday there last night and to say they were accomadating would be an under statement. Charles took care of every need we had, our glasses were never empty, the food was fabulous, and it was generally just an all around good time. They have a great happy hour also. If you haven't been there yet, now is the time to give it a try.
This place offers delicious and organic food, and their prices are competitive! You can get especially good deals at happy hour, and they have a full bar. We had a steak rice bowl and taco that were incredible and I m glad we got some fried yuca to try too even though the rice bowl was huge!
Fresh Mex has a blend of foods for all type of people. Food looks good and taste good as well. My experiences (10-15) at Fresh Mex are usually always good. They have a good HH and some nice Bob Marley playing in the background.

Nice vibe and fresh food. The owner is very friendly. I had a salad and the yucca fries. Actually I had two orders of yucca fries on I ate in and the other I took to go. The salad was average nothing to write home about. I wish they had a dressing that was lighter i.e. a vinegarette. All they have is two creamy options. Not so good if you are trying to watch the fat.
I'm sure the other options are tasty but for now please don't skip the yucca fries.

So the barbacoa is enough to keep me coming back, but then you throw in the atmosphere and the personal service and events and it's hands down our go-to restaurant on the Southside.
Absolutely fantastic!! Every single thing we ordered was fresh, hot and delicious!! Staff was great too. The menu has all sorts of options and choices. Be sure to check out the specials!! The guac is a must as a starter!! Be sure to finish off with the churros with warm chocolate sauce.

When you have "fresh" in your name, you should try to serve fresh food. Chips were soggy like they had been wet with water. When I took them back for replacement they had to find a new bag. Took several minutes. The queso was pretty good but was getting cold while waiting for the fresh chips and my burrito was made with what was obviously canned chicken .
$25 for two burritos, water and soggy chips. Probably wouldn't go back.
By far a clean venue and attractive location. I give all the props to John the Manager running this location on point. Best welcoming experience ever. I was greeted with a huge smile and welcoming attire. I was not planning to stay. I was visiting for future visits. I could not refuse to not stay. I highly recommend this family owned business. Not only is the whole staff friendly but you can tell they all work as a team to deliver a great experience. The food is excellent. The Nachos were delicious. Made fresh to every bite. Forget about the sweet tooth. You will lick your fingers after every Churro bite. Must have. Thank you John for delivering the best experience and presenting Mom and I with the best Customer Service. You rock! You take pride and you are an asset to the company. Respect.

As a frequent visitor to JAX, we had considered eating here before but had our first meal in Fresh Mex & Co today. We should have done it earlier! We had a great meal. My barbacoa burrito was awesome and my wife truly enjoyed her carnitas bowl. The portions were ample and the quality of the meats were top rate. The decor and layout of the restaurant are top rate as well. No more drive-bys for us. We will be back soon.
#NeverAgain Ordered three different orders and requested them to be separated. When picking up the orders they were bagged together. The manager/person in charge according to the server, said in a loud voice, you should have asked us to bag it separately! When I explained that I asked the order taker to separate the orders, he insisted it was my fault that the order was bagged together.
Love this lunch spot, L.I.F.E. bowl is life, add the pumpkin seeds, thank me later.

I had the l.i.f.e ( life inspired food for energy )bowl with salmon. I also chose optional shredded cabbage, pumpkin seeds and diced onions. The food was fresh, made to order, and you could taste every ingredient in my order. Healthy food made fresh. This placed is amazing. Don't forget to bring a jacket, it is somewhat chilly in here. Relaxed environment with friendly staff.

Ordered special, 3 tacos, my choosing, chips and salsa and drink to go. Never received the chips and salsa. Appeared manager had his family in the restaurant, 2 young boys were running wild and screaming. The food, what I received, was decent, not sure I'll return.

Very cute place and very clean. I had the shrimp tacos and a fish taco, the shrimp taco was ok the shrimp definitely needed some seasoning and roasting thank goodness for the chipotle mayo but the fish taco on the other hand YUMMY!!!! It was really good withe ancho chile salso on it to cut the sweetness of the topping on it and Charles the bartender so so so freaking sweet , nice, friendly and so welcoming!!! Im going back just to see him!!!

We were welcomed right away. The restaurant was very clean. The menu was easy to read and well organized and service was fast! We ordered the nacho appetizer and that was absolutely delish and huge enough for an entree. We also ordered the barbacoa life bowl and that was big but so good it doesn't leave you feeling nasty and stuffed i had the barbacoa burrito and it was way better than anything from moes or chipotle for about the same price with better taste. Definitely worth a repeat visit! Also a very family friendly atmosphere but next time i think ill try the bar area and their drinks.
Fresh ingredients, prepared well. Had the Barbacoa Bowl. I often evaluate a place like this on how tasty their Barbacoa is, and theirs is very good All components of the bowl had good flavor. I like this place and will return when I am back in town.

Super helpful service. I came in and mentioned I was pescatarian conversationally while browsing the menu, and the staff immediately started pointing out and explaining the best options for me, and recommending what they liked. I went with the blackened mahi tacos, which were hands down some of the most delicious fish tacos I ve had, especially short order. Nice atmosphere inside, clean and rustic chic. If this matters to you, sound check scored an average of 68 dB at peak lunchtime, so it s great acoustically for table conversation and not so loud that you d feel a need to rush out or anxiety raised, but not crickets quiet. Additionally, being also a locavorian, two other huge check marks: it s a family owned and operated business, and they source as much as possible from local providers, farms, etc. So when you eat here, you really are putting your money right back into the local community economy and not shipping it off across the continent somewhere. Check this place out.

Just have to say this is not what to be expected. At most its a fast food place. No severs or waiters to work with you. Food was cold. Just not what you want when you want Mexican food. This place has potential but has to become more then a fast food restaurant. Ive been a restaurant consultant for many years. This place just needs to be flipped from fast food to an actual sitdown restaurant.

Unlike any mexican restaurant I've ever visited. Great ambiance and bar but terrible tasteless mexican menu. However the wait staff was most cordial and efficient.

My husband has mobility problems. Bao offered to take our orders. He brought us our beer and wine, and food..The service we received from him and David was exceptional..My husband ordered the l.i.f.e bowl with carnitas, peppers, onions and guacamole, and I had the chopped jicama salad with barbacoa steak. I have been on a low carb diet for years, and was delighted to have such a healthy and tasty meal.We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner experience.
