Fresh and tasty! This place blew me away. You just don t find food like this these days. Clearly a lot of thought and care goes into these ingredients. Unfortunately, I was just passing through so it won t be a regular spot. However, I will keep it in mind for future road trips!

I stopped in today for lunch, the atmosphere and the staff, especially James the Manger were very pleasant and the Tex Mex was delicious!!! 5 Stars

Couldn't place order for almost 10 min - no line. I would love to have tried the place, but I'm just not going to wait at the register that long. We interrupted after 5 min and got the response, "sorry, we're short staffed and will be another few minutes" from what seemed to be a supervisor or manager.
Tips: Say something before we ask what's going on. Also, don't have the helper just wiping already clean counters and trying to look busy when more could be done to help reduce the work flow all around. Delegate more if necessary. These are the things that can stop a new customer from ever going back and we'll never know if this is just a one off and the food might be good.

No menus available before register, extremely slow service, and staff just seemed overwhelmed before rush hour! Love the comment that it s worth the wait....hope so as we have been waiting fifteen minutes for our food and still no show! I love how the manager/owners response to this post, instead of apologizing for the slow service you post this...how about apologizing for the slow service and offering to prove you can be better...what happened to customer service?

Good. Had Barbacoa tacos. A little greasy but really good flavor.

Fresh says it all. The chicken soup is very good and authentic. Tacos are tasty. Taco salad is great too. They even have a full bar.

We used to come here all of the time. I love the food and atmosphere, but the past 3 visits have been bad. This past visit, 20 minutes ago, I ordered the $11.70 Shrimp Life Bowl (as usual) so that I could have lunch for today and tomorrow. Since it is a big bowl full of food, and I've ordered it MANY times, I know how much comes in it. I was baffled when I got back to work with my food to see that it was less than half of what I normally get...and cold. The only warm item was the black beans. Just because someone orders something "to go" doesn't mean you can skimp them on 60% of what they ordered. It's a shame, because it used to be a favorite of ours. I guess we'll find something else, and suggest you do the same.

Today was my first time trying this place. The food was great and the customer service was even better!!

never write reviews, but this place is not great, came here 2 times and the 1st time the burrito was not a burrito, mostly just rice rolled up with beans, when I ordered a chicken burrito. 2nd time, the quesadilla, was disgusting, only ate 1/2 of 1. there was no cheese just black beans. trust me just go to chipotle. it's cheaper, faster, and fresher!

This place is pretty legit. Two things about Jacksonville. #1The food is pretty mediocre and #2 the foodies here have pretty low standards. This place is GOOD!!

Unbelievable experience-Not Good
The kitchen smoke detector went off several minutes THE-PEARSING PITCH.
The cash register beeped for 10 minutes-VERY IRRITATING, the the power went off.

Only ONE SERVER for entire bar/restaurant-need 3.

Nice/weird server but guests are way-way under served. He sings songs and or talks out loud to himself the entire time. Very irritating.

Food just OK, wouldn't go back specially with the poor-weird service.

Watched 3 mixed drinks go back to the kitchen staff- ALLOWED to drink on the job????

Manager was rude-unfriendly & certainly didnt value my patrinenge.

If it was the food only I would give another half star. It was very good... My only problem and its small but I ordered togo and my tacos were made incorrectly. I called back and it was agreed that they would take care of it on next visit..Awsum. Well I came back today and spoke to same girl. I ordered same thing again and was givin $5 0ff and a free drink..Although a nice gesture I would rather have had my 2 Tacos compd. At almost $4 each that would have been my pick. I will still come back as it is wonderful food.

We got the at noon for lunch, the beverage machine was broke, and the only other options were water, tea, or alcohol. They seemed apologetic, but in today's world that doesn't cut it. If i wasn't with family from out of town, I would've left! Food was forgettable...

Omg my husband and I tried this place for the 1st time before a doctor s appointment and it was absolutely amazing. We both tried the MahiMahi tacos and we both loved it- we will definitely return soon

First time ordering today for lunch. We didn't even know it was open already. We ordered through Bite Squad for pick up. I got there at 11:40 am and our order was not even ready. I ordered a Steak Burrito and it was just "okay". Some of the beans were still hard. The burrito is so soupy -from whatever sauce it had in it. The rice was loose -would be nice if it's a little sticky so it's not all over the place when you're eating it. There was not enough meat in it. The price was $9.10 for a steak burrito - it doesn't even come with free chips on the side (like most Mexican place do) so I would think it's a little too pricey for me. But I mean this is our first time ordering and from what the owner said they've only been open for two months so I'll try them again next time and see if anything changes.

Meh...this is all the steak you get in a salad...

***UPDATE***
Adam, the GM, came over and fixed everything for us (there were some other issues with the steak) and apologized and recognized that the steak to ratio salad wasn t correct. I really appreciate him and his awesome customer service to get it right.

This place is horrible. After I finally got service I found out the food wasn't very good. I asked for a beer and took forever to get it and when I did it was small I don't recommend displace at all

Friendly welcome and service. Everyone likes that. I really dig the interior. It s gorgeous. Oh, and the margaritas are pretty good too

The food was good but waiting over 20 minutes for tacos and chips is excessive even if they just opened. The owner should walk over to newk's to see how efficient service occurs using the number system there. Probably deserves 4 stars but they were too busy for their staff level.

It is nice to come across a good and healthy Mexican place that is not expensive. When we looked it up, we thought it was like Chipotle or a similar Mexican counter service restaurant. We were impressed that they offered both counter and table service. The drinks looked interesting and the owner, who took care of us at the register, was very friendly. I only got a salad so it was not that expensive, but I can understand the thoughts about the price. The salad was awesome, particularly the freshness.

Very friendly, efficient staff. Good food. Fish could have been a little less done. The bococoa was delicious if a little oily. It is a comfortable place for a quick bite and/or a cocktail.

The food is amazing and a must try. The way owner and employees are working is remarkable. Definitely coming back.

Creative menu items. Visited dinner time with no wait. Greeted quickly and very personably, but slow after that. Food had very good taste.

They seem understaffed and unprofessional. Seems like most of the employees don't know much and really should be better trained. The owner doesn't seem to want to own up to how the place is run and just makes a bunch of excuses...

Mike and John were greeting us with a smile and amazing food recommendations. The chip and guacamole were fresh and delicious. The margaritas used fresh squeezed lime juice instead of fake sour mix which makes the world of difference. I ordered 3 ordinary chicken tacos and they were anything but ordinary, once again all fresh ingredients, made from scratch tacos definitely 5 stars

Paid for and extra "taco of the month" and was not given. Was told it was a mistake on their website but couldn't get a refund. Was told I should come back tomorrow to talk to the owner. Terrible customer service, no masks, and on their phones. Additionally, their 5 star reviews are inflated because they offer a free churro to do so. Not a five star restaurant.

This was definitely the best margarita I ever had. I will definitely come back for happy hour next Friday

Horrible! The bar service was simply horrible. One the bar itself was sticky and dirty. The bartender never wiped the bar clean as people left from eating and drinking if at all that's how nasty the bar was. He didn't appear to very clean himself either. He was all over the place with no order of the bar or how to run a full service bar. It took over 25 mins to get veggie quesadilla and fried yucca. I never received the water w/ lemon I asked for but after seeing the sinks behind the bar with the disgusting water in them, didn't want anything to drink. How he spoke to people was rude. Just an over horrible experience. Will not ever go back!

The food is good - I love the jicama salad, but it s alway pretty slow service, the staff seems scatterbrained, and their Yuca is AWFUL. Really thin, hard pieces that are never cut consistently. I ve hurt my teeth on them before, actually. :(

I love Fresh Mex & Co. I always get the Steak Life Bowl. Whenever I eat here I leave feeling satisfied and full. The food is very fulfilling and super colorful and vibrant. The flavors are genuine and whole. I also like the sour cream, as it s light and tasty. The TVs usually have pretty good programming on them. Definitely recommend FRESH MEX & CO. It s nice to be greeted when you come inside by the friendly employees.

Mostly serve yourself. Not a restaurant, but a noisy taco stand Prices are high. No line, but took a while to place my order. Table was dirty. Tiny bowl of chips and tiny bit of salsa. Entree took forever to come. My plate was flopped on the table as the runner breezed past . Food was horrible. My beef burrito was NOTHING but rice and tortilla. Burrito was supposed to be on special but it costs me over $13. My first visit. Never ever again. Wast of time and money. The worst.

Food was very good. I had steak tacos which were soft and tasty. Service was a little slow it took forever to get beers and couple on party ordered mixed drinks they didn t even receive. Will return again.

Nice place to dine in and have a beer with friends. Despite pandemic they are open for dine-in but pretty impressed with the level of cleanliness and i didn't feel uncomfortable at all. I always love their food but I would still visit TJ Flats if you're new to this place like me and want to try some good Mexican food around here. Don't want to compare with any other Mexican place around here but I highly recommend for their quality of service, good food and ambience!!!

They need to change delivery services as I sat and waited on my food order over and hour only for their delivery service to cancel my order and I received no food. Will not order again.
