We stayed in the Terrace room at the Shiv Niwas palace for 3 days in Jan 2019, and loved our royal experience. This heritage hotel shares it's space with the City Palace as well as the current Maharaja's residence. The views of the lake and the City of Udaipur from our room, the Panera bar and the Panghat restaurant, were beautiful! The staff was attentive and loving, especially Rajinder and Bajrang. James Bond fans, the pool at the center of the hotel is the same one from the movie Octopussy, which was filmed largely at this hotel. My husband truly enjoyed his martini by the pool :).

The hotel advertises it's Lake view, however it's only available at their terrace restaurants and they weren't able to accommodate even a table for one at the restaurant. Worse still, the hotel staff started to blame it on me that I didn't make a reservation! No information on this was shared during check-in. Quite pathetic. You'll find better planes for much cheaper.
Magnificent hotel with a breathtaking view of lake pichola. The suites are splendid with very large balconies and terraces Nice pool, good restaurant, and the bartender is lovely
I just visited shiv nivas last week. For 3 days. I must say their room services are very poor. Person on reception was very rude. No proffetional behaviour at all. Very poor wi fi service. Rest all emiities and stay was good. So giving 2 star.
The palace room is quite small for the money you pay. Although it is inside the city palace complex, nothing is complimentary like how I saw at other parts of rajasthan. However, 5 stars for ambience, hospitality and hygiene.
If you are visiting Udaipur, then try to opt for the palace-hotel situated inside the City Palace. We stayed at Shivniwas palace and it was a complete royal experience. The services and hospitality are excellent, probably the best I have ever experienced anywhere. The food is delicious and the ambience of their dining area would want you to sit there for hours.
We were fortunate enough to stay at one of the terrace rooms. Absolutely fantastic experience. Spectacular water views, incredibly spacious and immaculately furnished rooms with two balconies. The staff were exceptional, friendly and very helpful. The first morning we had room-service set menu breakfast which was nice but the 2nd morning we ate at the restaurant and tried traditional Indian breakfast which was out of this world. Walking distance to the busy little town and plenty to do within a short distance of the hotel. I just wish that we had booked more nights at this hotel. If we ever come back to India this will absolutely be first on the list of places to revisit.
Very good hotel rooms are very good clean and tidy you can visit with your family and friends near to the lake Pichola which give the best view from the rooftop food quality is good and customer service is also good it is located in the City Palace
Such a lovely experience. Rooms were massive like our own house. Staff pleasant and always willing to help. Food was delicious. I would have rated 5 but service is slow at restaurants. Overall, a majestical place.
Nice view, nice breakfast, dirty room.... no care taken for maintanance..... torn cushions.... wires hanging from the outside the room..... Poor management of such a beautiful property. Housekeeping needs to clean their eyes, apparently they cannot see dirt.
The first thing about this place is the the last thing I'd like to remember about any restaurant. They do not serve normal filtered water at all. You will have to purchase bottled water (Rs. 18.00 map @ Rs. 110.00) The manager, Sailesh is too impolite to let the customer finish before responding. Guess there are better places outside the Palace complex. So, take a short walk.
A fabulous five star hotel. It is heritage palace.a swimming pool is here. There are 36 rooms.and a spa thats name "panghat spa" also here.view is very nice from the all rooms.it is provided great services to the guests.
Shiv Niwas Palace - the crescent shaped Palace built in early 20th century in the reign of Maharana Fateh Singh and the Palace was reserved exclusively for visiting dignitaries and guests of the House of Mewar. Today its redesigned as a Grand Heritage Palace which offers luxury stay and dining. They have 19 Palace Rooms, 8 Terrace Suites, 6 Royal Suites and 3 Imperial Suites. Each room have perfect blend of history, luxury and modern amenities. We stayed at Palace Room for 1 night, a weekend gateway.
Paantya restaurant will offer you one of the finest luxury dining with silver cutleries. From Rajasthani meal to Global cuisine. Another dining you can have near pool side. Meals were cooked to perfection, be it stir fry vegetables or chicken.
You can explore the place by your own. Fateh Prakash Palace is next to the City Palace and its a 3-minute walk from the Lake Pichola shoreline. The palace also showcases a treasure-trove of priceless paintings, exquisite chandeliers, and collection of unique crystal and crockery.
Note: - A must activity is Boat ride on lake Pichola. Charges: INR 400 per person Timings: Winter - 10 am to 2 pm. Summer - 10 am - 3 pm
Room Tip: If you wish live like a Royal, book yourself a Imperial suite room.
