Craftsmen very available to explain all the techniques and tips to you. Magnificent castle!
Great experience after seeing many castles in the Languedoc to learn and experience how a medieval castle was built at the time.
I am not sure what the purpose of this is, a construction project or tourist attraction. !! It's a fun project, but I think it's more of a tourist attraction. Admission is very pricey for what you get. A number of craftsmen who show in a hut how roof tiles are baked or how wooden roof tiles are made. A few people who cut stones and that was all about it. I personally don't think it's worth a visit especially at those prices.
This work of builders is magnificent and the site is really pretty
Very interesting. You have to look at each other in peace. Entry 15 per adult. I liked it
.
Splendid reconstruction from the raw material to the finished product
It was very nice, there just had to be more of these places. Definitely worth it.
It has been just over 20 years that some enthusiasts have decided to build a fortified castle using the methods of the early Middle Ages. They recreated all the trades of the time necessary for this creation. It is therefore a very educational place for children (and older children) to discover life in these remote ages. The different craftsmen are very friendly and do not hesitate to explain their trade and the working methods well. A real good in the past.
AWESOME. A pleasure to see the artisans and artists working under your eyes and they talk passionately about their job. An unforgettable day for young and old!
correct home, explanation of the city is good, the guide is useful
For lovers of the medieval period; very nice visit and a lot of courage for the craftsmen.
Nice and rewarding. Site tourist virtue but nice. Flat on the maintenance of abandoned vegetable gardens (permaculture yes but no absence!) And the corner of the masons where despite the appointment time for the film there was no one to start.
Super nice and rewarding site. Only weak point the restoration a little expensive compared to that we have, hope that the recipes serve this site.
Super interesting place of history where we understand better how our ancestors lived and built fortified castles
Always so impressive and exciting. We came a few years ago, the castle continues to develop. Hat for the construction of the functional mill. Companions on the spot in their great majority sympathetic and pedagogue. Varied activities. Special mention for the chemical-comic show that made our 3-year-old child die laughing.
Very beautiful site, total change of scenery guaranteed.
Unique experience of its kind. Discovery and learning site on the means used at the time for the construction of castles. Not to be missed if you are in the region.
Great visit with children it is already well advanced we will return in 5 years to see the evolution
Very nice visit for this last weekend of August. Great guided tour. Just a little flat for the restaurant, we expected to eat middle-aged and the restaurant no longer exists, a shame. I still recommend for a beautiful day of discovery and visit
People working on the site are very happy to answer questions. Nice experience!
A wonder. We visited this summer, even 300,000 visitors a year and yet, there is no queuing, there are so many small workshops craftsmen, we find his happiness. We must touch what must be a construction site in the Middle Ages. Artistic animators accessible, attentive, not jaded and who does not hesitate to express their opinion on the restoration of heritage today in France, I think especially of our Lady of Paris. I visited a lot of heritage site in France (it was my job) and it is exceptional because we find a soul and therefore sense. Family with 3 children, everyone enjoyed. Thanks to the whole team.
The surroundings are beautiful and the way this castle is made is beautiful. It is very interesting to see how it was in the Middle Ages.
Exceptional. To do with the family or in any other format. We learn a lot of things
A wonderful visit for both parents and children. A castle built as in the Middle Ages. Everyone will be interested in this visit.
What can I say? It was amazing! Going back in a couple of days!
Arrived in the Middle Ages in 2020 it was superb.
We will be going back in ...... Hoping it is over.
Really brilliant, a leap in the past, a discovery of the building trades in the Middle Ages and an extraordinary achievement. A pleasant moment to spend with the family, enriching for adults and children alike.
For those who don't know, it's nice! My 8 year old daughter liked it. The workers are generally available but sometimes pretentious ... Not to be missed, the coin mechanism! He is great!!
The restoration is remarkably slow !! 40 min for 2 terrible sandwiches and a drink! Lack of road signs at the exit of the site!
Very nice visit or dogs on a leash are welcome. Everything is interesting! Old-fashioned staff are always available to provide information.
Small downside you have to wait 1:30 pm to visit the water mill ...
I recommend for both adults and children.
A superb place, to do as a family with lots of workshops to make a castle
The construction site is very impressive. Great, what was or is done there.
Superb achievement. Nice organization and also catering at the top on the spot. I recommend taking the tour to learn more about this extraordinary adventure.
A pleasant, informative day for all ages. However wheelchair a bit complicated
I put 4 stars because toilets that are unusable, otherwise I will have 5 stars because it is a sick site.
congratulations to everybody
This castle is worth a visit, it's like the Middle Ages, visit the castle to do I loved
Interesting for young and old, especially the old techniques with which they work.
It sells dreams!
In reality there are a lot of actors!
It is an illusion for the youngest.
Bewitching
Exceptional
Very good day. Contact persons available precise explanations to repeat to see the progress
The work of these workers is extraordinary. Interesting visit for young and old. We can spend a beautiful day there. Precautions taken against covid but many do not respect the wearing of a mask among visitors! Pity
We regularly follow the progress of this RT construction we are not disappointed. You can eat easily. Gift shop. Shaded picnic areas. Several guided tours. To redo.
An extraordinary place for young and old! To do absolutely if you are in the region! Plan the full day.
Great, and well-detailed guided tour. To be done and redone after progress of the work.
A complete change of scenery. The actors of the place very available to explain to us.
Very good may be the plans are not quite clear .. to improve Thank you
To visit and revisit
Know-how and a welcome at the top
Rather nice environmental damage that some events were not open
Unmissable in the region. Unfortunately we didn't have our grandchildren, that's worth all the history lessons on the Middle Ages.
The construction of the castle is progressing. The animators are dedicated to what they show. I find that the mill does not bring much
A beautiful lesson of medieval architecture and a return to time.
We will come back to it and, why not, as workers ...
Disappointed by the lack of workshops on the site. Few craftsmen but against a crowd of tourists. It only remained to admire what was already built.
Very public site, sometimes almost too playful, a curiosity in a lost corner of France.
It's a change from the usual amusement parks. To be redone every 5 years or so because construction is not progressing very quickly; -)
Very interesting site, the castle evolves well over time. Craftsmen remain attentive to visitors and explain their trade to them
Nice to get acquainted with the architecture of the Middle Ages
Very interesting on the techniques used in the Middle Ages
Very nice site to visit where we learn a lot about the technical means of building a castle with a representation of trades of yesteryear like blacksmith, tile maker, carpenter etc. I recommend it to do if you are in the area
Castle under construction with all the trades of the time
A site to visit, the explanations of artisans are at the top and the castle is very nice to visit
The workshops of the craftsmen are very well organized and the craftsmen are available to explain their work and to answer the questions of young and old!
Fabulous, not to be missed for anything in the world.
History comes to life! Great to see all the old technology and techniques at work. Staff could speak better English though.
Superb place where we see the evolution of their work by passionate people and companions of duty. We took a guide (frankly do not deprive it is not a big difference on the price of the entry) explanations are rewarding and interesting. The people are welcoming and warm I highly recommend. It was a real pleasure for this weekend of 4 days to August 15.
More than the castle which is already impressive, it is the multitude of trades to discover that makes this visit really interesting.
This eco-museum concretely completes the history courses on the medieval period, for both young and old. Presentation of ancient trades in fun form for college students. A must see.
Exceptional place showing what men can build fabulous by finding the gestures of our ancestors.
